From your Hive dashboard, tap on the Menu, and then select ‘Manage devices’. Next, tap on the device you wish to remove, and then simply tap ‘Delete device’. This then allows the new owner to reset and add through the app. Hope this helps!
Looking to get a hive thermostat to replace my current one ESI (non WiFi) I’ve seen a lot reviews regarding the app saying it’s useless since they updated it. Is the app really that bad should I avoid getting hive for this reason?
To add, would you recommend hive or nest also? I’ve seen poor reviews when comes to connectivity with Nest and Google customer service being useless. Also are British Gas better with customer service especially if you use their professional install when getting hive installed to your property? As far as I understand Google don’t have their own installation team like hive do so can be tricky to get this installer correctly?
I would recommend getting in touch with a local electrician / gas engineer to get your controller installed as prices will more than likely be cheaper than British Gas. I've personally never had issues with the Hive app but I just set the schedule and leave it to it, maybe ask Alexa once a blue moon what the house temp is when I'm cold, but don't interact with the Hive app that often
