I like how all the clips show a different way of holding/using the console, like different people with different playstyles are playing the instruments.
My favorite part of every "Groundhog Day Episode" in TV shows is the bit when it shows them spending an absurd amount of days practicing something pointless to become masters of it for no reason (like Teal'c and O'Neil learning to juggle in Stargate SG-1). This masterpiece is making it into my Majora's Mask headcanon from now on.
I don't wanna say that It's not impressive, I don't even wanna know how often they fucked up and had to start over, but the part you described is rather easy (at least easier than the performing part). It really made me feel that I'm in Africa! That lion behind me is super convincing too, I
Love it when a random musical performance gives me a solid belly laugh! 😆
Despite Majora’s Mask being almost 22 years old, we are still utilizing it for feats like this. This game is truly timeless
I want to make a joke about Majora's mask being about time but my brain is fried watching this masterpiece
I love how it has it’s own sound too. I can tell it’s Africa but it’s so unique at the same time
It's one of those crowning human achievements that the rest of us can only marvel at...
Could not be more creationally inspired in this moment and creationally isn't even a word
i know if the developers are watching this, it's with a tear in their eyes. 25+ years ago, they could only dream of this
If Nintendo is watching this, they’ll just dmca it. Because they’re a**holes.
I love how the devs of Majora's Mask inadvertently made a band for you, and how well you you utilized it, great job!
I like to think they sit in their apartments and smile listening to compilations of songs they didn't know they programmed in.
Oh, I think they were aware, but not to this extent. There's a sidequest that has you playing "The Ballad of the Wind Fish" as all four Links.
@@Chaos89P Ahh, yeah, you're right. I forgot about that. It's been 15 years since I last played it. What extent they didn't expect fans of the game to go to is a testament to their level of competency and attention to detail.
I think they knew.
I made a video like this, but for Darude Sandstorm :)

Incredible. Humans are amazing
A single tear rolls down my cheek
Musical instruments in non-musical games are always underrated, but they allow us to see some talented people create fantastic masterpiece with them.
Like for a while all the people doing covers in the last of us 2 using Ellie's guitar lol. Incredible

I like how all the clips show a different way of holding/using the console, like different people with different playstyles are playing the instruments.
this is the most beautiful thing i’ve ever heard. thank u 🙏🏼
this content is way under rated, would love to see him do everything like this
My favorite part of every "Groundhog Day Episode" in TV shows is the bit when it shows them spending an absurd amount of days practicing something pointless to become masters of it for no reason (like Teal'c and O'Neil learning to juggle in Stargate SG-1).
This masterpiece is making it into my Majora's Mask headcanon from now on.
That episode is one of my favorites! I'll always remember them golfing through the stargate and finishing Daniel's translation for him!
Bro played the song of time every 3 days and had all the time in the world to learn this

Not only is this great, it's just straight up impressive. I can only imagine how long it took to experiment and figure out what buttons did what
I don't wanna say that It's not impressive, I don't even wanna know how often they fucked up and had to start over, but the part you described is rather easy (at least easier than the performing part). Even if you can't find a list of the instruments and their range in the internet (i don't know if there is any) you can just press every button one single time and note down which note it plays. Overall I think if you have a good ear this might take less than 20 minutes (approximately). Anyways great video
Not that long if you happen to be a MUSICAL GENIUS like this guy.
@@dsroxas3412 you don't even need good ears just use an electronic tuner

That little horn flourish in the bottom left around 1:15 is absolutely divine

Scrolled down through the comments until I found someone else who noticed this! So clever and fitting!
The Japanese programmer who did the MIDI for this port:
"FINALLY!"
Thank you so much. I didn't know I needed this gem.
This feature was very unnecessary, not many people really know about it, and it opened a whole new world for music covers. But there were little to no people back in the day doing it. Thank you for giving us this cover!
Actually the ocarina is a vital part of the game an is literally needed to progress. Erm looks like someone was just caught in a weenie bit of a lie…
@@HandjobHandsome they mean the pitch bending and modulation you can do while playing the ocarina
@@HandjobHandsome I think they mean the feature where you can adjust the pitch using the joystick
@@HandjobHandsomeYeah, sure, that's what I meant. Because I have no idea what Zelda is. And I never found this video, because I don't watch Zelda content regularly or something. I meant a special feature that was included for the ocarina in the 3DS version.
When you push the arrows up or down on the 3DS while playing, you can alter the notes you are playing. This is why this video is possible in the first place. Otherwise you would only have 5 different notes to play. Which, if you haven't noticed, are necessary to play Africa.
@@lykanaslupus To just inform you, that feature was in the main game too on Nintendo 64. I Remember doing that back then.
I always thought it was weird there was no complex covers using Majora's mask instruments. Keep up the great work dude.
The final countdown one is pretty good, its only the basic melody but the moon is crashing in the background so it adds to the atmosphere
