Some of you guys don't like it because it's a fiberglass body but I'll have you know I've owned several Corvettes which have fiberglass body's and I loved every one of them!
That's gonna be cool! Rat Rod Bob to the rescue! I'm thinking early rod. Buick nailhead, lake pipes, skinny tires, tuck and roll interior, 8 ball shifter knob, etc.
Bob, I think it will another cool project for sure. Not much rust to deal with, there’s that LOL I think I’ll roll bar in there for sure to the body just being fiberglass. I think it’s very doable and I think it’ll be something fantastic to see you make it your own through this winter. Thank you for involving all of us and your adventures.
Great score, good bones for a project. If you change your mind I'll be happy to take it off your hands, I've got a 429 Ford hungry for a future home. Also check out the movie "The California Kid" with Martin Sheen, that'll inspire you!
Yes it's will be a very cool Hot Rod . Big or small motor will be fine for this car. You will get dun with small problems. I have fath⁹ in your progress. Dane!!@
Hey Bawb, As we get older we are supposed to take it easy. This project looks to be even harder than your last piece of saved yard art!!! But know you and Don will figure it out and make a COOL ROD.
Whoa!! That thing makes me itch just lookin at it!!!! Protect yourself while working with it. I have worked with fiberglass enough to where I can't smell polyester resin any more.
I've seen buddies take L brackets and put layers and layers of fibreglass sheets over them. Approximately 3/8ths to 1/2 inch of cover , then leave to last leg of your metal mounting to what position you need ,up or down .I d say at least 5 mounting points on each side as clearance provides. Good luck.👍
going to be cool bob. A couple of tips, use cornhuskers lotion on your hands before messing with the glass. And wear rubber gloves. Use a vaccum as much as you can, try to avoid blowing the dust with an air gun. That stuff will itch like crazy no matter what, but this will help a lot.
Interested in how your gonna build the windows. Cut the whole window section off and build it with steel running down for door hinges and latch on both the front and back of the doors. Killed 2 ducks with 1 rock thing Bob. Ratrodoligy. Use that. Works ever time.
Man I passed on one a few years ago cause it was fiberglass, excited to see and learn what u do wit it. I’ve never watched a vid of yours where I did not learn something. Keep up the awesome content!!!!!!
Bob, with your experience this will be great. Before you fit the doors and trunk lid I recommend that you get a floor in place for stability, I used one inch square tubing and built the sub frame for the body, square the body before you start chopping the doors, it will make life easier. You got this Bob!
Cool new project Bob. Going to be a fun build. You can get those doors to fit no problem. You got this. Looking forward to seeing you bring it to life. Take it easy brother 👍🏻
Always finding the cool stuff to build, that glass is the easy stuff and it never looks like it has any repairs once it's finished, this is gonna be awesome and I can't wait to see it
Looking forward to this build , just like I enjoy all your others, I’m building a fiberglass T bucket that came with no floor, so I decided how far I wanted to channel the body and glassed a marine plywood floor in place, I use West Marine products, I’m sure there are many good products available
In my old motorhome the fiberglass body is attached in a lot of places to the steel frame by encapsulating blocks of wood inside a fiberglass box (or pocket). The bolts go through metal parts into those boxes. For a rat rod, I'd expect one could apply the same concept but using blocks of aluminum (or steel) encapsulated within fiberglass boxes that are formed into the body of the car. I have zero experience with this so take that for what it's worth.
Chopped '34 coupes are cool. This one's gonna be a big project. Not your typical ratrod. But sure you'll be up to the challenge. Be safe and stay well.
For cruising the coast be a perfect candidate for a 2300 pinto motor cammed up and a c4 trans with a 8.8 disc brake rear end. Be cheap on fuel and if you put in a 4 core rad. It should never run hot on that stop and go long delayed runs down the beach. It'll for sure have enough horsepower to smoke the hides off it if you so choose and be a different build from the big motor rods but still give em a run for the money! Be careful and let me know if you go this way or what your thoughts are to build it. Still anxious to here the other couple fire up!! Hope you put in a big thumping can in it!!
Man, you done got yourself some work to do right thur Bawb! That fiberglass needs some love and respirators too! When I built my 32 Vicky I thought it was rough. Nothing like this one. We'll be watching!
FIBERGLASS??! Props Bob, for steppin out of the comfort zone. Luv to see a 283, or 289, maybe even that 302 you have sittin around. Looking forward to this one!!
I don’t envy you bob, I’ve done a couple, four!! I don’t mess with fiberglass bodies anymore. I got a couple left I just use for templates now. Thanks for sharing your videos!
Bob, excellent score. That little rig would be insane with a 4bt cummins and th400. There's a dealer online who sells that combo out of Florida, they scrap old UPS diesel trucks.
!!! Wow Bob Ya Got your Hands full thinkin great Winter project if ya can make or build what ya Need so this is goin to take some time and that we don,t get Paid for and Your Side Kick is goin to be Buildin a Cool Role Cage guessin and some heavy threadin work from you to give it Your Design so Glad Ya Brought Us Along too Enjoy the Ride So From Canada SK Later
Hey Bob, nice score !! I have a complete set of molds to make that car. I have the dash and inner trunk pieces in stock. I also have the the floor mold. The body gets bonded to the floor and the floor is bolted to the chassis. Feel free to ask any questions.
Now this is the comment I was hoping for. Yes .. need lots of stuff. I would also like to have a hood and side panels and radiator shroud and grill. Not gonna run fenders or running boards. I want to make it something like the Billy Gibbons car that Jimmy Shine built for him. Only with tires and wheels like the Model A Coupe I'm building now. Email me: bobsgoodemail@gmail.com
Another cool project Bob Looking forward to seeing how you work with fiberglass .. But I wanna see how you put stitches on this thing It's not a Rat Rod Bob's build without some stitches keep up the great work Sir
Wow looks like you found a challenge . Time to separate men from boys . Lol I don't think that welder is going to work too good with that . But I'm sure Red and Don well help 👍😁 and thanks for sharing .
hi bob, that looks like a realy cool challenge, but your always ready for workin it out and you always produce another masterpece, can,t wait to watch this babay grow up !! always luvin it Bob take care till nezt time
Nice car Bob, I'll look around and see what I can find to help you sir! I've never done that kind of mounting either and have no idea where to start. Smashing my brain around and try to help.
Hey Bob, the body is most likely Polyester or vinylester, use epoxy resin to join parts to the body. Also use epoxy for high strength requirements like body to frame brackets and strengthen using kevlar or carbon fiber.
I know how you think. You can see exactly in your head how the Model A is going to be when finished, and can see exactly what you have to do to make it happen. Don't want to get bored, so you need something new to "figure out" while doing the labor on the A, and this 34 gives you lots to think about. Very cool.
Bob I love your rat rod metal art . I dont care much with fiber glass . It might look nice finished , but I don't care much for fiber glass art . I love metal cars . stitch your cars with mig welding .
Lokks like somebody had gotten off to a good start. Looks to be a solid specimen. (And i have a big block Chevy engine sitting at the house waiting for a project) 😜
Who knows Rocker Pat. I reckon I could make it happen ... hot glue gun stitches ... pop a fiberglass stitches mold ... I've got options. But this may be my first stitchless build LOL
Hey Bob. That could be a real cool street rod with a small block and some quiet mufflers. One problem though. How are you going to do you signature stitching on that fibreglass body? Looking forward to another build by Rat Rod Bob. Cheers
Some of you guys don't like it because it's a fiberglass body but I'll have you know I've owned several Corvettes which have fiberglass body's and I loved every one of them!
Tell people no worries you going to give it a metal flake paint job. 👍
I wouldn't mind at all fixing it up.
@@south55metal Ha haa ... good plan!
You'll be 'itching' to do a fiberglass project.
Oh yes, I was going to tell Bob to get a full body protection but I’m sure he’s going to be smart.
What a great project Tons of work
I prefer steel
Wow that's going to be a cool project I can't wait to see what you come up with I know it's going to be awesome great work Bob love your style
if you put the 429 it it will be one hell of a ride
Commenting to support the channel. I don't wanna miss it, I just don't! 👍
can,t wait to see what you do with it
That's gonna be cool! Rat Rod Bob to the rescue! I'm thinking early rod. Buick nailhead, lake pipes, skinny tires, tuck and roll interior, 8 ball shifter knob, etc.
Thanx for the inspiration, Bob and Red.
Bob, I think it will another cool project for sure. Not much rust to deal with, there’s that LOL
I think I’ll roll bar in there for sure to the body just being fiberglass. I think it’s very doable and I think it’ll be something fantastic to see you make it your own through this winter.
Thank you for involving all of us and your adventures.
It's gonna be a sweet ride. Can't wait to watch the build
That’s going to be a BIG PROJECT Bob

Ain't nothing a couple gallon of JB Weld won't fix! I'm DIGGING iit Bob! ...Newk from Kentucky

That’s going to make a really cool Rat Rod, can’t wait for the build Bob😀😀
I am sure it will look great when your done building car keep up the good work

Quite the project!
You could look at the Studenaker Avanti hog troughs for fiberglass to steel frame ideas.
34,s are one of my favorite old cars
Let's get started. Cool rod.
Got to finish the Model A Coupe first ... so stay tuned.
Yup, another small block project. I'm diggin it Bob. A lightweight car with a souped up small block is my idea of fun!
I am so excited for this build, im building a 27 coupe and in a similar situation.
Interested in how your gonna build the windows. Cut the whole window section off and build it with steel running down for door hinges and latch on both the front and back of the doors.
Killed 2 ducks with 1 rock thing Bob. Ratrodoligy. Use that. Works ever time.

Job security on that one Bob!
Bob I love the challenges that you except looking forward to see how you knock it out of the park keep ‘em comming

I’m sure it’s going to be cool Bob. Looking forward to what you do with it. 👍😎✌️
Pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing some more of this one! I'm digging it ✌️😎
Bob, with your experience this will be great. I'll be ready to follow this build too, Bob!
Can't wait on this car build.
It has possibilities !!!!!!! You can make something nice out of this.

Hi Bob. Can't wait to see you turn that plastic shell into a great looking car built in the Rat Rod Bob style. 😀

Bob, excellent score. That little rig would be insane with a 4bt cummins and th400. There's a dealer online who sells that combo out of Florida, they scrap old UPS diesel trucks.

It will be a great build

Looking good, Bob. Be sure to seal all the wood you use keeping in mind that if water ever gets past the glass the wood will swell.
Yea ... plus rot. May look for other solutions ... maybe ABS sheet. We'll see.
A gold painted small block Olds would be cool.

INTERESTING WITH THE FIRBERGLASS. WE WOULD HEAD TO THE BOATYARD TO TALK TO THE REPAIR MECHANIC ON BOATS TO HELP YA OUT THERE.
Wow looks like you found a challenge . Time to separate men from boys . Lol I don't think that welder is going to work too good with that . But I'm sure Red and Don well help 👍😁 and thanks for sharing .
Air conditioning would be a cool add on with it being a cruiser Bob! Would be fun to see what you put together.
BoB just watching how your rebuilding your latest project , You shouldn't have problem with this one mate . 🔧🛠👍🤠

Are You Going To Do Fiberglass Stitches?
Keep Rocking It Out Brother!!!
Who knows Rocker Pat. I reckon I could make it happen ... hot glue gun stitches ... pop a fiberglass stitches mold ... I've got options. But this may be my first stitchless build LOL
Dangit, Bob! You can't weld fiberglass! You need stuff you can weld on!
Give spirit cars( Flippin Arkansas) a call.
Hey Bob. That could be a real cool street rod with a small block and some quiet mufflers. One problem though. How are you going to do you signature stitching on that fibreglass body? Looking forward to another build by Rat Rod Bob. Cheers
Gonna be cool
