Great tips and ideas I had no idea 1:49 that extra work would be needed if using boards, vs getting it pre ready. If its same and less time lost... I'd do it! The brushes to use were a good tip too to press paper flat in collage work. 2:30 thx for sharing the supply links Love the white edge tip too 6:03
You are amazing! I am inspired and my spirit lifted just watching you. I have so many gel papers and some paintings that I wasn't totally pleased with. I'm going to revamp them with my gel prints. First I have to tear myself away from watching your videos!
I love the bright colorful flowers against that beautiful teal. So much contrast and beauty of my favorite colors! Never get tired of watching your inspirational tidbits!!! I think I need to make more papers and get some new brushes too....Thanks Elizabeth.

Omg.. so I just discovered you! I've been watching u all day!. Awesome videos. You said any paper.. but don't they have to be acid free? I've also heard about deli paper.. but cant find if that's acid free.
Hi Belinda, nothing has to be acid free, the glue is archival and acid free and each piece of paper is encapsulated in that so. I use all kinds of found papers plus rice paper and deli paper and sheet music and old books and etc.
@@ElizabethStHilaire Thank you so much.. I've had so many ideas to incorporate them in my paintings. I didnt want to sell something not of good quality. Btw.. ur an awesome instructor. Also, I see ur from Fl.. so am i.. Miami, Fl. Thx again🤗
I love this! If you have a wealth of available papers, I think this would be very relaxing. I just found your channel but I'm loving your gel prints. Do you seal these paintings or are they just getting sealed along the way with the gloss?
They do get sealed along the way with the gloss, but it tends to be uneven. Ultimately I seal them with a UV protective acrylic varnish for an even sheen

Thank you for another great tutorial Elizabeth. Have you ever used Yupo paper in your collages? (-: Marion
It will not glue down flat. It’s not porous

Awesome video as always! Any tips for preventing wrinkles in the glued pieces?
Several ways to avoid that. Join me on Patreon
Do you use only rice papers on your pieces or can you use other mediums like copy paper, cardstock, or deli paper?
I prefer rice paper.
Will you be doing any workshops in Toronto Canada?
Sadly, no. My whole schedule for two years is on my website: PaperPaintings.com/workshops
Would you please share which brush you are using (your favorite!) to apply the papers?
Sure! Princeton Catalyst Glue Brush:

Great tutorial. Just purchased the brush but wondered why you use gloss rather than Matt gel medium. Could I use either ? Many thanks
Matte products reduce the intensity of your color as they are not optically clear.

Hello Eliza! Yes I did collage it and I’m always happy with it in the end that way!!

Mod Podge is a craft material that is not archival.

It is super relaxing !!
Very cool! Would you recommend staying with lighter weight papers for collage or is heavy cardstock okay?
I never use card stock because it’s difficult to tear accurately, but you could give it a try.
Thanks!
do you ever print your larger art into greeting cards?
I have in the past yes. I have videos on greeting cards if you want to search.
How long do your brushes usually last you?
oh I have no idea! LOL
Do you purposely create a relief by adding several layers to vary height of different areas?
I have not, but you certainly could!

@@bconsilio3764 I bet that would be very cool!
Why the need for gel printing? You can just paint directly on papers no?
The papers I create with the gel plate far surpass any effects I could ever get with a brush. They are richly layered and textured
Hello, what kind of papers do you gel print onto?!
All different kinds, lots of rice paper. The specific rice paper I use is on my Amazon list, link is below video
