I just got out of a relationship with an arachnophobic partner, who was the reason I haven't owned a tarantula despite wanting to for years and years. Since the relationship has ended, I decided to treat myself and order my first tarantulas. You're my favorite tarantula content creator and I chose my species based off your collection (obviously did outside research too). Next week I'll be receiving a g. pulchra, g. pulchrapes, b. hamorii and two mystery beginner species :) Eventually I want to get jumping and velvet spiders too!
Obviously wasn't meant to be. Even if the person doesn't like a certain animal it does not give them the right to say you can't keep any of that species because of their fear. If it's an issue of allergic to venom well a discussion could be have about sade species. Overall to tell one they can't because it makes them uncomfortable is just controlling. Yes responsibility will fall completely on the person who wanted the animal, but that wouldn't affect the other aside from potentially seeing it out on occasion no big deal. Congratulations on the spiders
@@houndgirl7365Second this 100%. I was in a relationship with someone who was terrified of snakes and I at the time had an adult corn snake who I eventually had to give away. He was quick to say how happy he was that it was gone and that was one of the biggest reasons why I no longer wanted anything to do with him. Partners can definitely have their fears but should never control what you do and don’t keep as pets (unless of course it’s an animal that shouldn’t be but that’s a different case).
@@houndgirl7365 To be fair, he did say I could once we had a bigger place where I could have my own animal room. But it would've had to stay in our bedroom in the place we lived in, and that freaked him out. I was bummed he didn't want me having one, but understood and thought it was fair to wait
Be careful with macrothele gigas, it's venom packs a powerful and potent punch and they are very fast and defensive when fully grown, as a funnel web they generally do burrow but they web a lot and grow quite large but their venom is medically significant.
Really wholesome how the mister came in for this video to help with the rehousing! That was such a fun idea, and helps me think I can handle a little spiderling as well
I’ve had my first tarantula now for about a week thanks to you!! My husband and I love her. We got her from Tom, a G pulchripes juvenile 🥰 we have 3 Italian Greyhounds and 5 chickens… and now 1 tarantula, oh and 1 wild California mantis ootheca we are nursing until spring, lol. She has already eaten multiple crickets and even done quite a bit of happy dancing!!!! Thank you Kat!!!! Watching your videos went from casual entertainment and not really caring for spiders at all (if anything scared of them) to finding spiders fascinating and now having my own!!! This is your doing, Kat!! LOL!!
ah!! i just got my own wednesday because i just love her so so much. i got a lady bird velvet spider and so far they are SO cute. super glad you’re doing more velvet spider content, i love them ❤️
As a fellow aussie all i can say is you must have balls of steel sir lol Im not a huge arachnophobe but funnel webs especially the east coast ones are ones i dont want to ever go toe to toe with lol
Lol, I have a wild caught NC funnel web (aka grass spider) she came in my house all hungry, thirsty , and cold so I set up an enclosure from Tarantula Cribs, she ate good then discovered her hide and hasn't come out since she found it😂.
Really want to get velvet spiders (I'm UK) will get some next year. I did however get my first jumping spider ( Phidippus regius) a month ago and its just molted... It's so cute. Thank you Kat for making me love jumping spiders as well as T's :) x
just got my first tarantula because of you! she's a lovely juvenile davus pentaloris and she'll share a home with my 12 jumping spiders and their slings :) love ya kat
i also use those same containers I get them at michael's and hobby lobby (you can buy individual sizes at hobby lobby) and I love them i use them for jumping spider slings and i have one in my purse as a container for wild caught species (most are small here) so that its easier to let them out of the house
The Japanese funnel web spider looks very similar to the Australian male mouse spider which has the same type of red markings. I have come across the mouse spider a few times in the outback when they are out searching for a female & the red colouring really grabs your attention.
What he needs is a ball python. I've got turantulas, wolfspider, dancing whitelady huntsman and three ball pythons. Plus one cat. I finally got a Burgundy Goliath and she's definitely shy and doesn't want to come out of the hide. I'm waiting for her to come out and start eating for me. You definitely need a couple of old world turantulas in your collection so that your nerves will calm down.
Kat, honestly that Gigas is probably the one spider you have that I don't think you done enough research on. Maybe you should reach out to Dave Fisher and ask his advice for keeping them. That have some really powerful venom. And sonic fast.
So jealous about those velvets 😅😢😊 I ordered 3, got sent 5 but they didn't arrive alive 😢 so sad about this cus they still very rare here. Can't wait to see yours grown up 🎉
Kat whats that stuff youre putting in for the slings in them little pots?? Im going to a pet store ive found in London uk they have slings n adults 🕸🖤🕸🖤🇬🇧
Get ready for the M gigas to be the weirdest bro ever. Once I dropped in a super worm and it bit it, let it go, then started doing circles around the tank and then didnt eat the superworm until later. Zoomies much?
I think you should reach out to keeper card's and have yourr spider collection done as a set as i would buy your deck for sure love your collection how many in total do you have right now ? :)
It is not more potent than the Hadronyche modesta. There is no study, nothing saying that anywhere. And while I would consider it very defensive, it’s not “aggressive”
Kat you are really pretty. You look beautifull. God bless and have an awesome day or night lol. Your tarantulas are very beautifull too. From Renier lol. Your secret admirer. Know your married lol. Just giving a compliment.
Spiders are fascinating, tarantulas and velvets are great but as an Aussie I have no interest in funnel-webs whatsoever. They are fast, dangerous and I don’t want one anywhere near me.

After following that link, I ended reading Tom's "Hysterocrates laticeps - The Communal Project". So interesting!

Mr. Tarantula Kat has the most calming voice. He could probably de-escalate any situation. Lol yall are awesome.

You helped me get over my phobia of spiders. I found a jumping spider in my garden and bought an enclosure, cholla wood. Still learning about them.
Who doesn't love velvet spiders.. they are the cutest spiders. Can't wait to add some species to my collection.
ah!! i just got my own wednesday because i just love her so so much. i got a lady bird velvet spider and so far they are SO cute. super glad you’re doing more velvet spider content, i love them ❤️
Funnel-webs are great Kat! I live in Australia and have about 9 different species. They're super derpy spiders despite their fearsome reputation!
As a fellow aussie all i can say is you must have balls of steel sir lol
Im not a huge arachnophobe but funnel webs especially the east coast ones are ones i dont want to ever go toe to toe with lol
Kat, I never thought you'd get a funnel web species. Just be careful. I've seen Dave deal with those crazy Beasties.
Hopefully she can see the vids where he houses them, pairs them, feeds them etc to help her knowledge grow :D if she hasnt already lol
I've actually had a couple different species! very cool spiders but a lil feisty for sure lol
I just ordered my first velvet spider today so I am loving this content ❤
Always a good day when tarantula kat uploads
Very cool!! Thank you Kat for introducing me to the Spider-verse. I got my first two Ts earlier this month and I love them so much
T's are the best pets.. I love my spiders..! 🥲
You are a backseat driver when it comes to Mr. Tarantula Kat rehousing the spiders. Lol
Ik it’s terrible lol. I’m too anxious
I dont know why, but listening to you talking about spiders is just so chill. Thank you!
Happy thanksgiving Tarantula Kat!
Thank you so much for doing this video ❤
Kat I just wanted to tell you Thank you for sharing with us. You encouraged me to face my fears and I have. 2 jumpers and 1 Trantula
Lol, I have a wild caught NC funnel web (aka grass spider) she came in my house all hungry, thirsty , and cold so I set up an enclosure from Tarantula Cribs, she ate good then discovered her hide and hasn't come out since she found it😂.

I absolutely love Velvet Spiders 😢 I've been wanting one so bad but every time I try to buy there sold out. I'm going to hit up Tom quick!
KAT BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH A JAPANESE FUNNEL WEB SPIDER! The venom is usually Fatal
Good job, Mr. Tarantula Kat!
Mr Tarantula Kat did great.

Rehousing baby spiderlings make me so nervous!
I just ordered my first velvet baby (Gandanameno sp.), they're arriving next week I can't wait
My main concern with ordering Spiders online is the fear of squishing them when you rehouse them.
YAY! Love your awesome videos! AND your enclosures are delightful!🕷♥️♥️♥️🕷
They put dabs in those containers 🖤

Great vid Kat luv your vids .
Babies are so cute.
Can you do a all care guide to all the spiders you keep please and thank you
Kat got feisty new 🕷
Loved this one 😊
I went to michaels today and bought that exact thing of storage cups 😂😂
Great video
Well, can you make a video about the care of Typhochlaena seladonia?
KAT you should get a MALE MOUSE Spider. We have plenty here.
Sending love from Australia 😉
Where do you buy the clear bottles you put the tiny Velvet Spider slings in???
Well at least they weren’t jumping spider babies they’d be harder to find if they got away from you
So jealous about those velvets 😅😢😊 I ordered 3, got sent 5 but they didn't arrive alive 😢 so sad about this cus they still very rare here. Can't wait to see yours grown up 🎉
So Bowser breaks are now Mr.Tarantula Kat breaks? 😂
Bowser is in trouble. He ate his sunfish friend.
Kat whats that stuff youre putting in for the slings in them little pots?? Im going to a pet store ive found in London uk they have slings n adults 🕸🖤🕸🖤🇬🇧
I won't cancel mr. Tarantula. Mistakes happen.
What clip-on lenses do you use? I just got 2 jumping spiders, and I'd love to be able to get some photos of them! 😊♥️
PS: Their names are Nacho and Dixie. They both molted immediately, so I haven't handled them yet... But I want to so bad! lol
Where can I find the lady bird velvet spiders and jumping spiders that look similar
Get ready for the M gigas to be the weirdest bro ever. Once I dropped in a super worm and it bit it, let it go, then started doing circles around the tank and then didnt eat the superworm until later. Zoomies much?
Velvet communal update pleasee❤😊
Just picked up my first tarantula i got a pink toe tarantula from petsmart for black Friday figured I would save one from the pet store.
There is nothing that humans wont leave alone no creatures escape the human desire to interfere with nature to amuse themselves
Hi tarantula Kat
I think you should reach out to keeper card's and have yourr spider collection done as a set as i would buy your deck for sure love your collection how many in total do you have right now ? :)
I like your videos.
Buenas puedes hacer un vídeo sobre los cuidados de laTyphochlaena seladonia
I been w gaiting for another video kin the
Your last video wont play says its private im so sad
Dope ❤
Wait? jumping spiders need to eat every day?? Dang... no wonder I have so much trouble keeping them alive. Now I feel awful...
Babies need to eat often, I offer at least every other day but they don’t always take it
You have to feed a Jumper Daily and a Wolfie every 72 hours.
Does your UPS/FedEx delivery driver know that there's a solid chance any package they have for you is likely a box of spiders?
lol I only do a pick up from FedEx facility and yes
Coooool
27 comment awesome video today Kat you are the best and the greatest ever and happy Tuesday 👍💪💯💯💪💪👍
Dang, he gave you 500 stickers or something. Wtf
yes I give them to patrons etc 🤍
Ummm...... the Japanese Funnel Web Spider is more potent and aggressive than the Australian Funnel Web Spider. It is also bigger.
