Your nervousness with the centipede remind of Exotic Lair who’s clearly afraid of them but managed to buy 6 huge asian centipedes. The rehousing video was something as one did not cooperate at all and run away. He also has one from another specie (maybe from his garden, I am not sure) who have had eggs and she was curled around the eggs for protection. But I don’t know what happens after that. The colors of yours are really pretty. They have quite a big life span : 10+ years.
Can you imagine the first person to discover a cookie butt trapdoor spider, "someone has left a delicious snack on the floor, i shall just reach down and partake of said snackage, oh my word, said snackage has just partaken a taste of me, little blighter with a cookie butt is but a spider in disguise".
There are some stunning centipedes out there for sure! I'm traumatized from simply watching Petkos old video "Feeding the devil". These things go from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye.
WAIT..! OMG, NO, STOOOOOP!.. T.KAT, you are literally the 1 and only person in existence to ever make me think of a Giant Centipede as CUTE! + had me talking thru the screen saying "Hi, buddy, your such a pretty lil guy/girl!"😂😂❤❤ Thank you for your amazing content!!!!
Thank you, Kat, channels like yours are helping to convince my dad to get me a tarantula, and not think that it's gonna eat him in his sleep, lol. Love you and our creepy crawly friends 💜
What really helps in understanding most arachnids is that whenever they're threatening, they're absolutely scared for their lives. People tend to think that they want to attack, but that's probably the last thing on their really basic minds.
@@bashful_mango I can honestly say they would be more likely to run and hide if they escaped. I owned several tarantulas as a teen and only had one escape (my oldest pink toe tarantula) and she was very easy to get back in her enclosure. Maybe look into beginner species and show your dad videos of that species being handled. I had a rose haired tarantula my cousin gave me as a gift (she was my first tarantula) and I could do just about anything with that spider. I would get her out and she would sit in full contact with my hand and just chill there until I put her back in her enclosure. Sadly, I lost her about a year after getting her and my mom ended up passing so I had to give up my others Ts. I finally got to own one again earlier this year (about 20 years later). I currently have a pink toe tarantula named Nazca. She's alittle flighty, but certainly not aggressive or defensive. Just look into the different species and see which would be a good fit in winning your dad over. That or maybe you can talk someone else into getting you one as a "surprise" gift like how I got my rose hair lol. Good luck.
Kat, I just want to say that I’m now a spider girl! lol I started with jumping spiders, one turned into 7 and now I just ordered my first tarantula and two velvet spiders. Thank you for giving this new world to me lol
I got my first spider a couple days ago. I’ve been binging your channel and tarantula collectives channel and even. The wild ones yall make it look so easy, and that’s not fair! I got a i6 regal jumping spider assumed female. And I was sooo shakey, soo scared I put up a kids tent and got in it to relocate her. I was scared she’d jump and I’d lose her not that she’d bite me. I was freaking myself out “what if she jumps and runs and I accidentally squish her trying to catch her? So just took the lid off and put the cup in the enclosure and waited until she crawled out to retrieve the cup. She never jumped. She was super chill but still all I could think was the 100 different ways it could all go wrong. The day before I was sooo confident too, I was like “if these ppl can house these crazy fast and venomous spiders and centipedes without issue I can do a jumping spider!” And then the day of I was like nope. I need the baby tent. I need back up. lol
That centipede is so gorgeous! I really want to start making centipedes videos like you make tarantula videos because there is basically no one who makes only centipede content. I currently only have 6 centipede species but because I'm in Australia and we aren't allowed to anything that isn't native 💔
I've never seen a purple centipede before I used to have a scolopendra polymorpha. I had a six eyed sand spider too you should get one of them. I had like 30 tarantula before I lost my apartment. Next time I start collecting I really need my own house because most landlords are not okay with keeping as many pets as I had
I can't say that as a whole I'm a fan of centipedes - much prefer their less poisonous and much more leggy cousins the millipede when it comes to cuteness ( they are literally just giant rolly pollies! What isn't cute about that?) - but Slinky seems to be super chill. I'm not sure if it's the camera or if those are the actual colors but they did appear more maroon then purple in the video, though. All and all, another fun unboxing video!
Those centipedes are so freaking looking, but lovely creatures! It reminds me of a boss fight in Dark Souls, The Centipede demon. Great boss fight as the arena was fully impacted by lava
Regarding naming the centipede Slinky; I'm not religious or superstitious or anything like that but after renaming my two centipedes, I do believe that names have power, they both calmed down soooo much (Dehanni and Metuenda)
I move to AR had no idea we have trapdoor spiders here had one on my front yard. Never saw one again then had a tarantula on my porch. I have has a sever fear for years. I want a jumping spider so bad now
Hello everyone, i am fairly new here and have been enjoying the content a lot. i have gotten over my fear of spiders thanks to this channel and the ones you've mentioned, i've always loved reptiles and the like though, but i do have a question i can not seem to find.. ive heard it been mentioned.. what is a 'true spider'?
I want some trapdoors how do you care for them? Like what do you feed yours? I've read that they need 8" of soil is that actually true? i see here you're using just regular cubes filled up about 3/4 the way. Is that temporary or is this ok. I've been looking at these guys for years, originally it was the Chinese one that you owned before i didn't even know there's another type. But I'm about to start getting ready for a trapdoor and a lil jumper. I've done research over the years but sometimes the Internet has outdated info and most sites talk about trapdoor spiders in general instead of the Cyclocosmia lannaensis specifically
I have a Scolopendra Metuenda (Solomon Island Centipede) my pede is pretty chill, compared to others.. love the colors in your pede.. I am a fan of the purple, blue & cherry red's..
There’s plenty of house centipedes and other small ones that wonder inside altho they aren’t really that venomous they do help keep down pest populations and stay out of my way 😂

It was epic both times no worries I was lucky to catch it right away
Thank you
Beautiful centipede! Thankfully it had a pretty calm disposition 😂. Loved the tips on how to rehouse and unbox them!
Yes but yo mama

honestly we need a whole episode revisiting each one of your trapdoor spiders

@@rebel4466 I try to explain that but he's just scared of it getting out of the cage lmao
Having a pet that won't eat me is one of the reasons I got a tarantula. I've read too many stories of cats and dogs eating their dead owners' bodies 🫠

That spider looks GREAT in a Tarantula Collective enclosure! 😊

Report to the kitchen laura asap
5:30 a "Big scary centipede" who only wants to hide.
This Centipede is the calmest I´ve ever seen. I only know them like, EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE, kill everything, all the time 😂
I read this in a Dalek voice

I was waiting for the spicy and it never came😂 everyone was so well behaved!! Another fab video! Luv from 🏴
I absolutely love centipedes! I'm glad that you're getting into centipedes!! All the animals you unboxed are beautiful! 🥰
Eeep! That centipede is still spooky even though it’s calm LOL
I'm glad to see this video made it up. I love your videos they have helped me come to terms with spiders.
i love your unboxings, so soothing even though they are spooky insects
Beautifully done! Fascinating to watch the centipede thoroughly explore its enclosure with its antennae.
The cookie butt is precious!!
The centipede is such a cool colour! The trapdoors look like they have jelly bodies, so freakin cool 😎
Amazing video!! You have Inspired me to start keeping spiders. I have a pink toe and curly hair(bread and Zelda) so thank you for making videos
Oh m gee! The antennas! LOL i laughed way too hard seeing those wiggle out of the substrate

Wow that centipede looks so sweet, definiatly makes me want to get one for sure now.
Amazing video kat keep up the good work ❤
They've got a LOT A BIT OF EVERYTHING!!
Centipedes rule!. Far more exciting than Ts imo. That’s a beautiful specimen too.
I’ve kept a few of the Cali trapdoor spider before and generally they do better in a dryer clay substrate.
At 9:06 the cookiebutt looks like a button. Kat, you should name it, BUTTON 😊
Thank you for all the videos. I love Spiders…..

A lot of spider folks are being converted into centipede people, nice.
Great vid Kat cant wait for updates on these lil cuties ..
So thanks to you I am a jumping spider fan now. Thank you Kat❤
But that centipede...NOPE!😂
Ok, a centipede, why? I'm deathly afraid of those things!!
I love centipedes. The favorite of my inverts is my S. dehaani. Ligeia is my baby girl. ❤
@tarantulakat I just went and looked at Ty's stock. I'm not ready for one, but I totally think you need a fuzzy camel spider

You could name one Cali for California and the Ty (or Thai) for Thailand ❤ with that said.. Cookie Butt is also a great name 😆
Do you still have the feather tail centipede, I remember you said one wasn’t doing so well
I think you should name it Twiz
how on earth did you get such a chill centipede, haha
Is this species generally calmer?
Hey Tarantula Kat I love your videos I want to buy some jumping spiders

Richard beat you to it. Lol. Jk Love the trapdoors. I found one in my backyard about a year ago. (So.tx.)
I cant with the centipedes. I detest when mealworms and superworms wiggle. When centipedes do it i full on gag. Oh i hate it so much.
