    much simpler times and so much love between drivers. nowdays no one would even look at you let alone to help you out. much respect for good old drivers of that time. love it

    it is very interesting an a remebering to 1965 year, as we as young and adventure drivers from Germany to Iraq with TV and Airport equipment to Bagdad Airport started and this adventure also finisched. Nobody believed our this action, but we did it! And that i can write this is that I am now 80 years old and have also photos from this adventure and more others, like trips to UDSSR and OULO in Finland....

    Absolutely tremendous. Truly Epic journeys. A lot of top hauliers of that time, much simpler times where drivers actually had time and respect for each other. Help was never far away. I only went as far as Istanbul, much respect to those who made many journeys.
    Class Hauliers, Class Trucks, A Special breed of driver.
    Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻👌

    Good old trucks that you or average mechanic can fix on the side of the road. Always felt that the 60s to 90s trucks were the real workhorses.

    Great old pics of the Hungarocamion and Astran empires, a very different time with no hi-viz. I have Kevin Nobles book Baghdad trucker, that mentions Londra Camp, and there it is! Simpler times, and bring back those fuel prices 😂.....

      It was a differant time.. I remember asking a driver from Astans (who had a dépôt opposite to where I worked in Sevenoaks) whether they had a vaccancy to which he said no but he said that an outfit in East London were looking for drivers...and a week later I was on my way to Iran...
      That outfit (I've forgotten their name) subsequently got done for drugs offences !! Extra chassis members welded onto trailers in Afghanistan. God we were young and innocent...

    Great video. What does the TIR sign on the bumpers stand for?

    • @Namtov
      @Namtov ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Transporte Internationale Routier ( not sure if spelled right) Load was sealed off . The string you see Holding the tarp is a steelwire which could be plombded. Then you had a TIR-carnet which was a international costums document and the load was not checked at every border
