From a Physio perspective you’re absolutely correct Sam. A small amount of bend in the back during the RDLs is perfectly safe. In fact our backs are specifically designed to do so 👍 Love the dailies chap. It’s refreshing to hear good sound advice from an influential athlete.
Just had leg day yesterday. It was hard … never gets easier. Gets a little more fun when you see progress. I’m 6’ and fairly lanky type build. Trying, growing. Great vid brotha. Absolute beast!! Happy new year
coming here to vent a little.... It’s wild to think that Sam and I are the same age, yet here I am, 6’2” and 245 pounds now-down from 268 in October. Still trapped in this dark cloud of depression, still dragging myself through school just to satisfy my dad’s expectations. I still need back surgery, my ankle’s a mess, and the future’s looking like a knee replacement is in store. Each day feels like it’s passing in a haze, like life is just some black-and-white filter on a drone, constantly moving, never stopping, and before I know it, the day is gone. I’m smart for my age, but I still feel like a complete idiot. I know what I want in life, but it’s so hard to figure it all out, everything feels so confusing. It’s crazy because seeing someone my age who’s actually got it together. Complete, happy, and confident without being arrogant-is rare. It feels like a blessing. Keep going, Sam. You’re the reason I’ve kept going to the gym, the reason I’ve pushed through for so long. Thank you.
Hell yeah dude! What an interesting coincidence!! You posted this video on my birthday today!!! And ironically enough, I also hit some legs for my birthday as well. I felt them freaking gains. Starting to feel some soreness for sure too lol. Blasted some Rammstein and Type O Negative as my playlist. One reason why I did so was because both the singers of those bands have the same birthday as me too and I always made it a point to do so every year. I finished off my session with a bit of abs and did about 15 minutes of cardio afterwards. Came home, ate pizza for dinner, hanged out with some of my friends, got high and now just relaxing. Had a pretty productive birthday overall and I couldn’t had done it any better. Just nice and chill. Needless to say, I had a pretty good leg pump. Can’t believe I’m actually 34 man. That’s wild 😜🤪😜🤪. LFG!!! Gym exercises I did: Seated leg curls - 4 sets, 8-6 reps Leg curls - 4 sets, 12-8 reps Leg extensions - 4 sets, 12-8 reps (did a drop set as well) Seated calf raises - 4 sets, 8-6 reps Sissy hack squats - 4 sets, 8-6 reps (went to failure on one of my sets) Abdominal crunches- 4 sets, 12-8 reps
Just got my workout in took a shower and laid down to a sam notification. Id jus like to say thanks bro you really inspire me and help me to remain disciplined with your videos and i always look forward to watching them every time keep up the good work broski❤💪

Very worth it I’ll be representing my boy Sam!
i had osgoos schlatters when i was growing up. i grew a foot in a year and it really did a number on my knees. it has effected my whole life. you are the first i have heard to mention it.
Dude, sit on your knees and just stretch as far as you can🧎. I had to use my arms to brace my knees for a long time. I’m still progressing, but I’ll stay kneeling and lean back as far as I can. I’m definitely not healed, but my knees no longer hurt while squatting and just regular bending. It definitely prevents and also relieves soreness after any exercise. I’d definitely give it a shot. Been pretty game changing.
5:50 we actually talked about caffeine in our last pharmacology lesson lol one way it works as a stimulant is by basically blocking an enzyme that "turns off" the excitation chain effect that adrenaline/norepi triggers in our cells (it's also a competitive antagonist for adenosine, which promotes CNS depression)
@ Of course, I know things are far more complicated and multifaceted, as is anything about the physiological effects of a drug. I just thought it was a cool little thing about its mechanism of action
When I lived in Colorado Springs the snow took out many because so many were from other areas and didn't have snow experience. I took my car to an open parking lot and purposely lose control to learn how to gain control. When I lived in Hollyweird I could walk to one gym (24 hour Archlight) because traffic rush hour wasn't an hour more like 3-7pm. lol
Snow tires are basically mandatory for Colorado winters. The sides of every highway after a snowstorm are always full of cars pointed the wrong direction. It hasn’t changed a bit I assure you 😂
You angry bullybuilder, you are good ! Never left behind that anger to excercise, this is a one of things that have only the best competitors on world. I have no idea how you gonna looks like when you get your body to full stenght and build, that will be fenomenal, really. If you want to be one of the best, keep in that way, and don't forget about normal life, to keep the good psyche ballance. It's hard to keep that ballance when you go for a gold. Wath out for your health and injuries, to make every training in 100% and have, a pleasure of that. Ps Me too like when the muscles are not hidden and you can show it out :D
You should get into long length, full range of motion slow eccentric training for injury prevention, while being intense at the same time. It pushes ego lifting out the door, no downside to hypertrophy and keeps your joints healthy in the long haul. Somewhat surprising but great to hear you talking about safety bro.
Slow eccentrics have no benefits when it comes to hypertrophy; you just have to control your reps for the sake of standardizing ROM, and not all muscles benefit from long-length training, i.e., the lats, traps, medial and lateral heads of the triceps, and front delts.
@@himX10 generally speaking you need at least a one second negative for optimal results, which is a controlled rep which is still slow, rather than just dropping the weight. But as I said I'm talking specifically about is training for safety. Slow reps make you use lighter weight while at the very least losing no hypertrophy benafits, it makes you use a lighter weight. Long length partials are great for your joints and flexibility which not only decreases your chances of injury but also plays a role in every day life and athletic performance. There's a good chance it actually does benifit hypertrophy for all muscles as well. But either way, it's a net positive.
I respectfully disagree; for one, intentionally slowing your rep speed actually hinders muscle growth, and I'm not saying you should dive bomb the weight either. If you want to progress in the gym, you have to lift heavy while having good techniques; that's just how it is. And when it comes to longer-length training and its effects on joint health and athletic performance, you might be right on that because I'm not too well versed on the topic, but when it comes to building muscle, we have pretty conclusive evidence that some muscles do grow better in shortened positions, so it's definitely not beneficial for every muscle.
@@himX10 No worries bro, well I know it works because I'm an experienced lifter and been doing this myself and I'm 45. Yeah good techniques help for sure, there are many ways to train.
@@FroscoTraining I'm definitely saying not that that won't make you gains as you said there's many ways to training effectively I was just talking about optimizing on the margins

Hey Sam been going to gym for 3-4 months now been going pretty good tbh recently I’ve noticed my muscles are less sore after each workout. I’ve consistently been upping the weight as I’ve gotten stronger, reps have stayed the same of 8-12. Am I just not training hard enough? Or is muscle soreness important for growth? Any advice would be great
careful of your lower back during that first movement, you should have you but pinned against the bench to prevent this, plus it makes the movement more affective.
hey sam, would you think it’s the right thing to do to go to the gym even if i’m sick? i’m heavily debating it right now because i don’t want to lose any gains just sitting at the house doing nothing.
@@cradddockdude1998muscle atrophy does happen pretty fast tho approximately 48 hours after you work said muscle, am not saying it will be noticeable but that's just how it is
