    Steve, you nailed it! I suffered for 13 years with terrible sleep. I couldn’t even drive in fear of falling asleep at the wheel. I now sleep great. My blood pressure also came back down. The root problem like you said was hormone loss. I’m on the highest estradiol patch, and I’m pleased to know my level is now 96. I also take the oral progesterone at 100 mgs., and I’m at 5.5. I feel so much better. Better bones, heart and brain is what it’s all about in the long run!

      @crh251 Thanks for watching. Sounds like you’re definitely on the right track. Your estradiol level is perfectly optimal. It’s sometimes hard to get near 100 without bleeding or breast tenderness issues. It would be nice to see a little higher progesterone but 5.5 isn’t too bad. Better bones, heart, and brain . . . No . . . . YOU nailed it!

      @@valerielebreux42, sure! Ask away! I’m in post menopause. Since menopause is only one day (the one year anniversary of no period), I’m now in post. I’ve been in post menopause for almost seven years now. I’ve been on HRT for 2 1/2 years now. I’m 60 years old.

    No doctor would prescribe HRT for me back in 2004. I found a NP who specialized in menopause BuT she first prescribed Effexor, which turned into a nightmare! Finally 5 yr into menopause I was put on a patch, in 24 hrs I had relief! ❤ But as the years passed I was continually told to get off it. I tried at least 4x over the past 10 years, symptoms came back surging back. I was told I had to get permanently off HRT by 70. Now at 73, I found a GYN specialist in hormone therapy who has put me back on HRT and I will remain on for the rest of my life! The tide has turned, women new to menopause are lucky they can get treatment!!!

    Women of my mother’s generation were SO cheated! The flawed WHI study ruined the lives of so many women. My mother kept having a series of strokes, and finally a massive heart attack ended her life. I will be on HRT for the remainder of my life.

    I am a family doctor prescribing for HRT at least 8 yrs. Yes we had little training and it was anxiety inducing to see a pt needing HRT. We don't measures Hormones on NHS

      @Blueprince77 Thanks for watching and chiming in! I mean no offense to GPs who haven't been equipped to treat menopause. It's not your fault. The medical education system in the US and the UK have both been woefully inadequate in preparing doctors to treat women in menopause. Many doctors in the US also choose not to measure hormone levels . . . although the ones with training and expertise find levels very helpful, along with symptoms.

    I just cllicked and sent an email. It felt ao good to be letting all that out with such confidence that..FINALLY, this person knows the struggle and seriousness of being correctly diagnosed and is capable of helping me find the correct treatment & care. The changes that we go through can be drastic and scary. I am not the same person I was 4 years ago, inside and out!

    I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m 49 and am in perimenopause. The symptoms are horrendous. The weight gain is really affecting me not only mentally but physically. My doctor prescribed me mirvala 21 birth control but after a month I stopped as I bled for 30 days and just couldn’t handle it. Can perimenopause women go on HRT?

    Excellent information Steve,
    Thank you for all the GREAT information you continue to share with us! I GREATLY appreciate it.
    You may not realize the lives you are impacting and bringing much needed "Hope" too!
    Quick question - Do you have or know any information/iinsight relating to the "itching" some of us experience?
    Not the traditional "dry skin" or vaginal itching but itching that is so intense and under the skin that doesn’t stop! The kind of itching that once you scratch the area you want to continue scratching until it bleeds.
    Mine is on my left arm, top near the bend and can move down to forearm to the wrist.
    Typically (99% of the time) it's in the same area. It has moved a few times to the other arm same area(s), no where else as of yet and I hope it doesn't!
    I've heard of something called "Pruritus and Formication" and that this type of insane itching is related to low estrogen. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
    Again, THANK YOU for ALL the information, research, compassionate care & concern you continue to show us as we journey through this hormonally chaotic chapter of our lives.
    From one "Hope Peddler" 🚴‍♀️ to another 🚴‍♀️!
    🤗

      Actress Suzanne Summer said that she got terrible skin itching with low progesterone. I’ve also heard that some women get itching inside their ear canal. It can be remedied by putting oestrogen cream on a Q-tip.

    Steve, do you know about Estratest? I was prescribed it 2 weeks ago. I have yet to find any YT videos by hormone specialists on this particular pill. ??

    It’s the weight gain ! I have always been small . Until I turned 50 and had an ovary removed . I don’t take any perceptions . But if estrodial and progestin are capable of making my digestion better or moods better ….i am will to try them :) I would love you to give me a reference for a place / doc or / pharmacy in my area . Can I just call up a compounding pharmacy and ask them ?

    You mentioned in a video that perimenopause patients can experience extreme fluctuations in estradiol levels, so how would a prescriber be able to even this out to the optimal 75-100 range on a daily basis?

    • @SimpleHormones
      @SimpleHormones  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @sarah.j.777 The most common way providers deal with this problem is not to prescribe estradiol to women in perimenopause at all. That way they don't have to try and chase those wildly fluctuating levels. The providers I work with often make a blanket statement that they don't prescribe estradiol in perimenopause . . . except in extreme cases with women who have severe hot flashes and that are pretty close to menopause. It's definitely a "judgement call" that each provider must make in consultation with their patients.

    Thank you, Doctor🙏
    I am taking biest 80/20 oral drops from compounding pharmacy and hundred milligram micronized progesterone. It helped me a lot, but I still have mild hot flashes and night sweats. Which estrogen should I increase, I’m assuming Esrodial? Also, I heard that estriol is not good for your brain, but it is good protector from cancer? It’s very confusing and overwhelming. I keep thinking about Estrodial patch for convenience.

      Hopefully Sreve will answer you. I do know that hot flashes and night sweats are from low estrogen. I hope you get an answer. I’m on the patch and oral progesterone. I love them!

      @SimpleHormones  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @lolasen1206 Thanks for watching. Estradiol is the estrogen that is most effective at relieving hot flashes for sure. I wouldn’t be too concerned about estriol’s effects on the brain but I’ll keep an eye out for that. I have 2 other videos that might interest you.
