Thanks, always on the lookout for a good VPN. FYI, I`m in Spain and getting 12 months @ 2.59 euros plus 4 free months with your code. That comes out to 41.44 euros plus tax. Hoping their VPN service is better than their math.

I can't stop smiling. The many parades, celebrations and holidays I remember from my last few trips to Nakhon Phanom are like this - everyone gets smashed and dance to music that is mind-alteringly loud.
I hope Thailand never changes - ever.

unfortunately the West /America is influencing the world for the worst! Rap music with filthy lyrics is popular in a lot of countries. When I traveled to Kenya a few years ago, the local private minibuses were blasting the obscene language in rap music all over the capital city. I had been in Kenya twenty years ago, it was so peaceful with respectful mild mannered folk. Now they were wearing all the clothing from rap artists with jewelry and throwing gang signs. And young people are all drawn to it. I used to get upset when our country was called "The Great Satan" but now I am beginning to believe it! Rap music is gaining popularity in India too where they are forming gangs etc. Now, graffiti is beginning to show up in public areas in India too, just like all of Europe. It is sad to see beautiful architecture defaced in Europe. Just a matter of time, with everyone exposed to the internet.
The Portal in NY was just shut down connecting Ireland after just a few days because of indecent exposure in NY. Everyone in the US said they saw it coming and that it would be just a couple of days before that happened.

Great village festival ( better than my Thai village celebration last week).
Just in case your Western viewers don’t know, the guys in “black face” are representing a folklore character “Ngo-Pa” (เงาะป่า) which is a costume based on a character that appeared in a Thai traditional play writing from 1906 and a folktale during the 18th century. The character was originally based on an ethnic group, Negrito, in the Southern part of Thailand.

Thailand has native black (negrito) people too. They are similar to Australia's aborigines. Their population is pretty small and they are getting more assimilated into Thai culture. The official name of their ethnic group is called the "Maniq" people.

I love village life in Thailand. Festivals bring the entire district together with each village/Wat , building their own float for the parade in good natured competition with the neighbouring villages.

Brilliant, typical fun village party. We can't wait to live in my wife's village in Buri Ram.
You're absolutely right about the UK not allowing such things. Unless they're waving pr1de and pal35t1n1an flags of course.
    The west is bu115h1t now!
And to those grumpy b@5t@rd5 who say it's just a load of drunks, have they seen the pictures of UK cities on Friday & Saturday nights? Disgraceful!

"It takes a village to raise a child" is a proverb that means that an entire community of people must provide for and interact positively with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment. Celebrating every tiny moment of happiness to that village person including you and your loved ones.

Takes a village to grope children 🤭
Don't kid yourself. Children are abandoned in villages by parents who go to work in city and send little money to grandmas/friends to watch children lol. Literally no parental monitoring or father's involved. Why do you think boys start dressing like women?

I love this village gatherings and festivals, weddings, funerals. entering the monkhood, fireworks etc. They are all and excuse to escape the hum drum, often boring, or repetitive lives that they lead. It is always good fun except later on when the liquor has flowed all day and someone takes exception to someone else and it all kicks off. As you said Ryan, in many ways no different from parties, weddings and funerals in UK where vast quantities of alcohol or other substances are involved. However, things are much more colourful here in rural Thailand, and there is always something going on. Glad that you were able to catch the fun element of the parade on camera. God bless you both and the family 😀❤🙏

It is a sign that Thailand is becoming a wealthy country and of course diabetes is/will become a major problem in the future a potential catastrophy. I would be interested to find out if it’s the same in Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.
