Extremely helpful. Too bad Fitbit doesn't make this easier. You'd think time setting would be the most obvious and easy setting on a watch.

Why are we building devices that require another device to set them ? This just does not make sense .
Google won't sort it out because they want to force you to link it to other devices to get more data on you and then to manipulate you via affective computing. Idk how else to explain stuff this dumb: it's a deliberate decision.

Thanks Mike... it worked perfectly. I had a wee trip to Johannesburg for about 5 seconds lol. My fitbit is set a little differently to yours. My account icon is on the left instead of the right and I had to rake around to find time zones etc but I got there in the end. Thank you for taking the time to post this. I tried this method, but when I sync, it goes back to the same date that is, presumably, when it lost all power.
Edit: I got a notification that I had to restart my phone to sync correctly. So I did, and now it works. Thanks.

I live in Ohio and randomly one day after I got a charge 2 it went to Los Angeles time. So I used your tactic and went to a random time zone, then went to Indianapolis because that’s the closest and there is no Ohio and synced it. Then after the sync was done I went back to it and it went back to Los Angeles. Please help

Can I change the time from miles away? I gave my Fitbit to my dad and he lives in another country. And even if I set the right time from my phone app it doesn’t show the right time on his Fitbit.
no the device needs to be near the phone it is sync'd with from what i can tell. Although if you log in to the web app and get them to do the force sync locally it might be okay

This tip should work with any Fitbit device. If you have any questions or problems let us know. Kath and I read all the comments and usually reply pretty quickly
call me thick but i have tried and tried the time zone diff and watched ur video but even after sync its not not corrected itself help

Best bet is to remove the device from your account using the web based app then on the phone open the Fitbit app and force it to sync then the device should be reset and you can re add it to your account and it will take the time and date from your phone just make sure the app and phone are set to the correct time zones

I had been struggling for about an hour and was losing patience. I thought, I'm not sleeping until I change the time and luckily came across your video. Bought a fitbit for my mother and the software is just fucking garbage. The solutions on the fitbit help menu/website never solved any issues I had and I always had to look up solutions on youtube or reddit by other users who figured this shit out. If you're not tech savvy like my mother its unusable and the app is useless as fuck unless you pay premium. Why the fuck do I have to pay further to use a 200$ device. Just a garbage product overall

How on earth do I get my clock to 12 hour clock and not 24 hour. It's currently 17:59 but my Fitbit shows as 05:59 it's rather annoying 🤦🏼😂

Video is good. it’s sad that a smartwatch can’t keep time, within the same time zone. Fitbit support was uncooperative and really doesn’t care. Their software, firmware is screwed up or they just design poorly. I can’t trust my “watch” to tell time. The answer is that I have to sync 24/7 and double check the time somewhere else? A $10 Walmart watch keeps time. Fitbit you have really fallen from the great company of the early days. You should be embarrassed.

Versa is not better than my Charge unless u like big watches. Love my charge the best. Never had this problem with Charge2. At first it seemed not to work but did it again and bam, the correct time showed
Mine is only 2.5-3 minutes behind my phone.... however it makes me almost late everytime im getting ready, i always look at the time on my versa instead of stopping what im doing and getting my phone. So then im leaving the house at a time that i think will get me to work on time and i end up about 4min late because of it. Im so frustrated too cause its on the right time zone. I just need a manual way to change the time to match my phone...
My fitbit is inspire. not as fancy as yours. My account doesn't have time zone. any other suggestions?

absolute useless garbage . all that this did for me was make me spend 15 minutes scrolling through a billion different countries and cities times zones trying to find my own again only to find it did nothing to reset my Fitbit IONICS time. This watch its a piece of crap. never have had a problem like this with any watch, from the cheapest Casio to a $1000usd Apple Watch, none have had this issue of showing the wrong time and no way to correct it.
also most of the ionic watches have had a factory recall
