The XRS chassis is the absolute best choice for me. I just completed a near total modification of a boring and seldom shot Ruger American Ranch AR 300BLK to a 300 HAM'R barrel, Timney trigger, and bolt handle and knob.
I just bought this XRS stock for my SAV model 10. Assembled just like explained in video. Now torque mounting screws to 60 in/lbs... but wait... the slots are very narrow and my fat wrench/bit driver does not fit!! how in the world do you properly torque the mounting screws through these tiny slots? I was able to remove the polymer magazine well with by removing the four side fastening screws, and now I have access to torque the front mounting screw. However, the rear screw is under the trigger guard, and I cannot figure out how to remove it... Please help!
What is the purpose of center hole in the cheek riser? It looks like something is missing. I thought, "Could there be a feature for returning to a fixed height?" I asked of of the screws on the cheek riser, to which it replied, "Yes." Then I said to the other screw, "Maybe it could be a place to screw a soft pad." It also, said, "Yes." It was then that I noticed that *all the screws say, "Yes," no matter what I ask of them, even if I know it is false.* And I wondered why...
There was a screw loose in the box and a nut was rattling around inside the buttstock. I put it in that hole and tightened it. It looks better now. Maybe it even came out of there if someone forgot to tighten it. The screws really do have "YES" debossed onto the heads. That's where I was going with that. Thanks for the piece of Japanese candy. If I get drunk enough or am pronounced terminally ill, I might try it. And thanks for the XMAS card- the girl looks just like my wife, but who is that guy??!
@@MDTTAC Thank you. Can you tell me the max diameter bit that will fit in the access holes? Also, how deep arr they? I have not been able to find longer driver bits. If you have a suggestion that would be great.

@@dubyamiyami did you ever get an answer from MDT? I just ordered an XRS for my 457 and was curious about torque specs. Doesn't seem like it would matter considering I can't even reach in there with my torque wrench lol.
What is the torque specification for Savage Actions? Savage specifies 40 inch·lb for the Accustock, and less for some other stocks. It lies in a nice aluminum trough in the XRS, and even 60 doesn't feel too tight. Blue Loctite?

I'm a left hander that uses a right handed gun mostly because of the fact that it's what I always used growing up and nowdays it doesn't pay to be a "leftie" if you want anything nice aftermarket anyway. So in short I love the look and intent of this stock as I both hunt and range shoot and the law where I live makes it hard to own multiples of the same caliber. I also like that it has a more old school ascetic but is it a "no deal" kind of thing with the comb adjustment interferring with cheek weld for a left hander or does the stock ident negate the issue or as I have noticed an insert arrangement around the comb adjustment screws is it able to be converted to the other side? Alot of questions I know but as I live extremely remote the purchase would be sight unseen. Thankyou in advance for your time in this matter. Cheers, John.
Hello John, the cheek riser is centered and can be used on either side without issue, the cheek riser set screws can be flipped over to the otherside so they do not interfere with your cheek weld at all.
Thanks for the reply, the set screws were the main concern the fact that they can be flipped is great. Thanks for thinking of those on the "dark side".😀
Two things. You didn't mention the torque value of the action screws, also that you're supposed to tighten the front one first. I did have to order special long shank Allen keys to use my torque screwdriver to install properly.
