    Thank you so much for allowing me to be apart of your desires to bring more African Americans to your beautiful Country. I am honored to parter with Kenya Airways to pave the way and reconnect us back to a home away from home. Great job Chams Media. Im going to learn that song for the next time.

    I can't wait! I grew up in Kenya and growing up, there were no direct flights of any kind. For years we flew Pan Am, which was a 24 hour flight, with several stops along the way. Then we flew BA and KLM and stopped in Europe. This was an improvement, but still not direct. I can't believe I am actually going to go on a direct flight from NYC to Nairobi!

    • @explorelondon3695
      @explorelondon3695 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aunties5798 No issue, just aviation facts from an aviation purist. Nothing against you personally, but when facts are wrong, sometimes it helps to steer the matter towards the light. While Ethiopian was the first carrier in Africa to receive the 787, it is possible that Captain Kiki is the first 787 driver in Africa although the probability of an Ethiopian female been the first based on entry into service is also plausible but in the absence of actual data, I concur it might just be possible the former is right. It's not really important to me or probably to other readers but being the first 787 pilot in Africa Vs first female 787 are two goal posts far apart. So for arguement sake you are wrong when you state she was the first 787 driver in Africa, it can't be physically possible unless she was flying for Ethiopian Airlines. It's all about following proper etiquette, sometimes just been polite disarms even a wicked heart. Problem with most Green card holders don't realise American Jurisdiction ends once you step into the Aircraft and out of the US airspace. When in Rome, do as...it helps to be polite, humble and to recognise those serving you are human too, sometimes they wake up on the wrong side of the bed too so a little kindness towards them goes a long way. Understand you are in their office and respect their working space, it goes both ways, problem with us Kenyans especially of this generation is we want to prove to everyone that they are beneath us because of their stations in life, even when these stations give them the mandate to discern between life and death on upon us. The majority of Kenyans that get bad service at our local airports deserve it because they act so entitled, they won't pull the same drama in US airports and that's with the statutory rights and a mature democracy that comes with the American way of life...but then we have Nairobians...that's another day's gripe.

    KQ has, sorry let me rephrase, KQ had a lot of potential to compete with or supercede Ethiopian Airlines but the Kenyan curse looms over the airline. Won't go to specifics but hopefully one day when we have a Magufuli attitude and patriotism in most of us Kenyans, then the fortunes of KQ and Kenya can be reinstated to former status. It's heartbreaking to see the KQ cartel clip the airline's wings as they line their pockets for personal gains. That said, this JFK service is a good option for those connecting the Americas and Nairobi.

    We are living in such a digital era. KQ and other airlines need to take advantage of content creators that film their flights and post them to social media instead of telling them not to film onboard. The number of times content creators have been told not to film onboard in this day and age is puzzling. Kenya Airways can hire as many "partners" to promote as many routes as they want but that will not have the same effect and is a drop in the ocean compared to what a travel TH-camr who's audience is already into travel and has an audience of 40K subscribers or more to film themselves onboard can do. TH-camrs are constantly told not to film onboard even though their filming styles are non intrusive and they film only themselves. Move with the times and take advantage of free publicity. No need to hire promoters, partners and ambassadors. That is so 1999. Move with the times guys.

I was made to open bags in Netherlands at one time, the only airport i have ever been asked to open bags my entire flying life. The way some kenyans behave at JKIA coming from majuu make them target for bag opening. Also if you are carrying too much luggage/bags you will be targeted because they think you are carrying merchandise for sale. Tip, always lock your bags with airport security padlocks, you will look less suspicious.

You are correct in that property prices often rise where finances and demand comes in (from foreigners, diasporans, any source). However, there’s more than one narrative. All we heard in the west about Africa for years was poverty, war, illness and dictatorships. We saw the videos. And we believed... that was Africa. Both damaged mind-sets and beautiful souls exist in the AA community. Should we shut the door on our wounded or endure the process; heal and become even stronger together? Tuko pamoja.

      It's no different from other carriers but for some reason we Kenyans expect Singapore Airlines service for the SGR ticket price to United Kisumu. The contract between a passenger and the airline is the provision of passage at certain dates which does not guarantee a seat on a flight. Any take off and landing you can walk away from without injuries after getting to your destination is a good thing...that said, the baggage handlers in DXB and NBO will mess up your luggage the same way..I still for the life of me don't understand why people expect Suite service for Economy pay....

    Kenya airways is too expensive...also they are not all over the US.....they nerd to go where kenyans live....they need to to Minnesota and Texas....they need to match ethiopian airlines....too much corrupt officials at the advisory board...because they lack marketing.

      Starting an airline is more than just a question of want but one of need for the airline, the need to be profitable bearing in mind the economy of scale required. There's also the question of route matrix, let's hypothetically assume KQ can fly to most of the destinations you've mentioned, where does traffic eminate within the catchment areas in the US and where does that traffic terminate?. Bear in mind the ME3 have an extensive route in African than KQ and probably only behind MS and ET..it would be nice to serve multiple cities in the USA but it's not practically possible. However you can still fly KQ from the cities through JFK by Delta Codeshare..as for matching Ethiopian, we are light years behind. ET runs an airline, flight/cabin training, MRO, catering, dedicated freighter service and an extensive route network in Europe, Asia and a considerable presence in the Americas...just check Flightradar 24 and compare the two airlines from 0015hrs East Africa time, the numbers speak for themselves. Regards.

    KQ THE PRIDE OF AFRICA

    • @explorelondon3695
      @explorelondon3695 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This torch belongs to Ethiopian who operate an airline, catering, cabin & flight training, Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO). Their route network is also extensive compared to KQ. The later is a cartel like KPLC etc etc and it's therefore run as a typical Kenyan personal business..

      @@Jimmykarinski You are spot on but sadly this is not an isolated case unfortunately. We Kenyans are so enslaved in principle and practise. We think sounding like a Mzungu is a measure of superior aptitude, gentrification or higher standing in society. Unfortunately I see more Wazungus begging on the streets, hooked on alcohol and substances but also unable to express themselves in writing their mother tongue than foreigners. It therefore makes me wonder whether the Mzungu ways are overrated. Over 89% of Masters and PHD candidates for instance in the US constitutes of foreign students which means the probability of Gikuyu accents and such in academia and corporate world is quite high out of Kenya...but then we Kenyans pick an American accent in Mumbai after two months....

      @@explorelondon3695 That is your judgment no one get paid to teach accents. It’s the bottom of the food chain of man’s problem you are the kind that try to sell it like it’s an idea. And by the way English is the operating system of the world deal with it. Followed by Chinese.
