    Godox has a set of receivers: X1R-C for Canon, X1R-N for Nikon, etc…
    I understand that your hack is a great tip for unsupported flash brands.
    Thanks

    Makayas, thank you! You’ve answered a question I had and have given me a justification for just purchasing two Flashpoint (Godox) V1 flashes with the R2 Mark II Wireless Trigger even though I have several other flashes. Now I know that I can still use my Canon and Yongnuo flashes with them!

    You can also use the optical slave options S1 and S2. Seems to me much simpler and much cheaper since the yongnuo transcievers don't support ttl and hss anyway

    I have a Sony A7CII and 2 Canon 580ex and 2 580exII flashes. Please help, what transmitter receiver should I buy?
    I want to use the Sony camera to fire Canon flashes

      @princejbc2003  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sony cameras use a different hotshoe on the camera and so the first thing you will need is a hotshoe adaptor to change your Sony hotshoe to a regular one. After that all you need is a universal radio flash trigger like the Godox CT16 and two two receivers that you fix to your Canon flashes and you’re good to go. You will not be able to control the flashes within your camera menu or TTI but you can trigger them.

    How can I trigger the flash if I place the speedlite directly on the the X2T hotshoe? Do I need certain setting on X2T?

    • @princejbc2003
      @princejbc2003  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is no need to do anything else. It will work the same as placing the flash directly on the camera. You, however, cannot change settings on the flash via the trigger..you have to do that on the flash itself. I’m assuming your flash is not a Godox flash and you have the trigger on the camera to control some Godox flashes off-camera.

    • @princejbc2003

      Just check to see if the X2T for Sony has that big center pin connection. If it does, then it should work but only for triggering the flash.

    • @princejbc2003
      @princejbc2003  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your X2T trigger will not be able to trigger the Canon flash remotely. To make it work, you need a pair of Godox transceivers like the ones in the video.

    • @princejbc2003
      @princejbc2003  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately I have not seen any trigger that allows such cross-compatibility but I will do some research. If I find something to help you, I will surely let you know.

    • @LambertFick
      @LambertFick ปีที่แล้ว

      You do get a third party hot shoe adapter that allows a Nikon flash/speed lite cross/TTL compatibility for Canon , but not / never seen for Canon speed lites to Nikon adaptor. That is a Nikon "thing" they are all about their products not being compatible with Canon. The X1T does have a single pin top hot shoe setting, but the T2X unfortunately does not have the single pin function. This is the best alternative I have encountered, other than buying Nikon or Godox n units. Yet to try the cable jack?

    Hi bro, good day,
    Very helpful tips, my X2-T is for a Sony camera and my Yongnou flash is for Canon, as I could only find Yongnou trancievers for Canon, will it work with my Sony X2-T kindly advise before buying. Many thanks

    • @princejbc2003
      @princejbc2003  ปีที่แล้ว

      From what you have written, I assume you will have the X2T on your Sony Camera then you will attach a Canon Yongnuo transceiver on the X2T and another on your Yongnuo flash to trigger your flash. Is this correct?

    The question I have is:
    Can I use any flash as TTL on camera if I attach it to the X2T-s top hot shoe?

    • @princejbc2003
      @princejbc2003  ปีที่แล้ว

      No you cannot. For you to be able to use TTL both your flash and the XT2 model have to be compatible with the camera. So if you have a Canon, you need to have the X2T-C and a TTL capable, Canon compatible flash.

    If I wanted to, could I just put an external flash on top of the Godox x2t?
    I bought the canon Sl3 which has a changed hotshoe and doesn’t allow any flash or transmitter other than a canon one on top of the hotshoe. So I’m looking for a solution to use a non canon brand transmitter to talk to a strobe light that’s at a studio I use, as well as a non canon flash that can go on top of my canon

    • @princejbc2003
      @princejbc2003  ปีที่แล้ว

      Godox released firmware updates to make their flashes compatible with the new Canon cameras without the center pin. So I think if you update the firmware on the XT2-C, you should be able to still use it. From what I could gather, the only ones that will not work are ones with only one pin. Let us know if you any luck with this. A flash on top of the XT2 will work.

    Hi there can I use this X2T with my Triopo Tr-988 Speedlight?

    • @princejbc2003
      @princejbc2003  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately Godox triggers will only work with Godox flashes wirelessly because they use a dedicated radio signal. If you want to use it with your Triopo, you would need to buy a couple of cheap transceivers like the ones I demonstrated in the video: one for the top of the X2T and one for the bottom of the flash. So you would connect your X2T that is compatible with your camera on top of your camera and then one of the transceivers goes on the flash.
