Basically any article or book you read on the subject is entirely wrong, pushing a narrative based on the dieting fad based around vilifying sugar. The scientific reality on the matter is that sugar is food just like all food it isn't bad for you inherently. The negative arguments are usually based on a couple of misrepresentations. 1. Using the way that diabetics process and react to sugar as though it applies to everybody. Diabetes is a genetic disease, you can't get it unless you have the genetics for it. If you don't have the genes, your body will not react to carbohydrates that way no matter what. 2. Willfully ignoring the diversity of diets across all of humanity. For instance, per capita sugar consumption is MUCH higher in quite a few countries other than the US and they do not have our rates of the things that people like to blame sugar for. This means that all the correlations that are used in those articles and books attacking sugar are using data that is incomplete but says what they want it to say. Also, frankly, your one month experiment is really terrible in experimental terms and whatever experience you had is going to mislead people if they do not understand 1. the temporary nature of whatever is going on, good or bad. 2. the way that the body naturally responds to any sudden and significant changes in what it considers a normal diet. 3. How 1 and 2 interact to cause both the short term effects and longer term effects. Simply put, this subject is really really complex and overwhelmed by a huge industry (as in $100 BILLION a year industry) that isn't interested in the facts as we know them, but is instead interested in propagating their business regardless of the human suffering they cause. There is ZERO chance you aren't going to be presenting their lies in such a video because the very fact that you undertook this month is proof you are exposed to them and give them some level of belief. Anyway Craig, I really hope you read this comment even though it is long and saying stuff that will challenge many of the beliefs you have. It always amazes me how easy it is to consume sugar in drinks specifically. Even "healthy" drinks like those Naked smoothies. Really, go to any smoothie chain and start googling how much sugar is in each smoothie, and see if you still feel the same about consuming them.
Also, haul videos are made by airheads who think things are special, whereas minimalist videos are made by hipsters who don't like things and think they are special.
Dude, watched the whole thing and repeated some parts for the comedy , this content rocks ! I’ve always said you’re one of my top favorite youtubers but I really do think people are missing out! This video had all the good , comedy , education, and relatability ! I would say it gets my squeal of approval but I don’t know how to do the thing you did haha
Stationery and art hauls *ARE MY LIFE* . Seriously though, it's cool to see the stuff that better fits my needs because I like to draw but I'm poor af. If I can see how it works and tests and other stuff (because it's usually expensive and hard to get since it has to be bought online) then it's extremely helpful.
I am Jellypuffs, the sea witch you speak of in your video. I lol'd so hard. Thank you. Also, one time you high fived me irl. So, just know that you have been officially blessed by my sea magic 💙 muahahaha
WheezyWaiter in all seriousness: binge drinking. Does that count? I like alcohol but I am verrrrry careful to consume in a way that won't make me sick. I don't understand how people like drinking so much that they make themselves sick.
Mukbang / food videos. I don't get it. Perhaps you can film yourself eating a normal portion size bowl of instant ramen or something and talk about your feelings. It might help me understand. 😬
Don't mind me, I'm just commenting to increase the comment count and to make to make the TH-cam algorithm think that this is an interesting video that gets people talking, which it totally is!
I don't like watching haul videos because maybe ill see something I like and want, the TH-camr will say something like "what's really great about it is how affordable it is", then ill look it up and it's $200.
I mean most girls clothes can't even be below $30 bucks like guys clothes are because females like accessories and all that in clothing that's why most man say females has the best style on clothing or what i also here is there is no room for guys to shop in the mall because most of the time its just females going to the mall only.
this is a point that was maybe briefly touched upon in the video, but I'd like to expand further: haul videos can function as educational tutorials for people interested in a specific area but not really knowing much about it. with clothing hauls specifically, it can be very enlightening to see what items the author is drawn to, and more importantly, why. say you wanna polish your style but you don't know where to start. a haul video provides insight into that person's style, how new items are selected to for into it, and often the person's reasoning for why they chose it and suggestions for what to wear it with. for someone who doesn't have an intuitive eye for fashion and has no one around them to teach them, this can be a very valuable resource, especially when you look at a bunch of hauls from people with different styles. same with makeup. with groceries, I'd say the appeal is just curiosity about how other people live their lives and if there's something we could learn from their habits that would benefit our own lives. tips and tricks, mostly. but empathy, also. it's just fun to get inside someone else's brain and their everyday routine. we're curious creatures.
Alix the reason lots of people like grocery haul videos is because it can help if the person making the video follows a specific diet. For example; if you wanted to eat healthier but didn’t know where to start, you could watch a grocery haul video and learn about new foods you had never heard of before, and why they buy them and how to cook with them.
@@rachelpahnke1923 Oh man there's grocery haul videos now? All i do is just type in on youtube on how to make stuff and make sure i watch those who tells how and knows how to get certain food items for that dish.
That’s a very good and well-written answer. I’m not buying, though. I think the vast majority of people watch those because they’re voyeuristic or living vicariously through the TH-camr.
Great video Craig:) it’s clear you put a lot of time and effort into it. And your parents’ lines were so fun😂 Excited to see you do more like this in the future!
This is the FIRST video of yours, Craig, that I saw; have been trying to catch up and have been watching a lot of your other vids but I have to say, this is still my favourite. It is BRILLIANT and very very detailed. I can appreciate (a bit) how much time and effort and creativity it took to put this all together. Wow. I applaud you.

09:05 "[...] Come on guys, that's barely more than the population of Sweden!" It's funny you say that, because as a Swede, I, no joke, use this comparison all the time. It's given me such a weird perspective on things. Like, if I lived in a country with only Bethany Mota subscribers, I'd see just about the same amount of people I already see every day...
I’m newish to watching TH-cam regularly and the first video I came across of yours was the ‘no sugar for a month.’ I subscribed to your channel instantly after watching. You are ridiculously witty and I’m now binge watching your content. Some videos I’ve already viewed multiple times, and I gotta say that Mom and Dad rock! Your humor, and creativity are top notch, and your videos should be getting at least 5 times the amount views. People don’t know what they are missing! 😜
The bit with your parents literally had me laughing out loud while everyone was trying to sleep, it was great. As for haul videos, for me its just seeing the youtubers I like, doing whatever. I guess youtubers feel like 'friends' to me (cough)cuzIhavenorealfriends(cough) so when they unbox stuff, or show me hauls, its like as if a friend of mine is like, 'hey lookit what I got!' and I find it entertaining in that way. And of course, I like to see reviews of stuff I'm considering buying, especially true for makeup and stuff.
Amazing work, laughed throughout and still learned some! Didn't know there was that much variety, I thought haul videos were all about clothing. I think the your humour mixed with the fast talking (not sure if it was intentional, but it seems you're talking faster than usual) people might know from the vlogbrothers really works well. Really liked the cameos, especially Chyna's roast. Keep em coming :)

I just came across your channel, the no sugar for a month popped up. I love your video format. I wish I could see a behind the scenes of how these videos are made. Thanks for your style, you have helped me to want to bring out more of just being myself and not trying to someone else. Too bad your not in Austin anymore I'd buy you a beer.
Haul videos teach us that a person’s worth can be measured by the content of their shopping bag. On the plus side, they are a miracle cure for insomnia. I don’t even like plant haul videos.
yeah. I've been following it all on instagram through chyna's account and it was a really sad day when mitzy was gone, but we all knew it was coming. she was very sick and was eating and drinking less with interest in physical activity steeply declining.
Oh, right. There weren't any WheezyWaiter videos lately. No wonder I felt an underlying sense of emptiness in my life... Thank heavens for functioning subscriptions for informing me when people come back from hiatus!
I personally like hauls for books and music albums, for me it is a great way to find out what people are reading or listening to. What I love more than haul videos is unhaul videos.
The only haul videos i've ever enjoyed are ones for things that are hard to find. Like, ones from yard sales or i fell into a hole recently of a guy that collects old lego sets. It was cool seeing the good condition sets he was able to find. Also Ashens is kinda a haul channel at times but his humor makes it.
Hey, a funny story: I'm a new subscriber and i LOVE the content! So the other day my mom came over and she said this video kept popping up with these two people holding sugar have you seen it? It's so funny! I immediately told her how TH-cam works and how to get to all your videos! Then we watched this one together it's my favorite! Two new subscribers for wheezywaiter!

...because they fall within the section of the population which can experience autonomous sensory meridian response which is apparently very pleasurable.
Ok, this was a scream! I had to take my glasses off because I was laughing so hard, my eyes were tearing up and do you know what salt does to lenses? I never knew about "haul" videos and if I had seen one, I know I wouldn’t have liked it except to fall asleep to and wake up with keyboard imprints on my forehead and drool on the table - oh, but you get that part. Too funny!! Thanks for my daily belly laugh!
As someone who isn't naturally gifted in the region of fashion, clothing haul videos helped me to get a sense of what I like and want to concentrate my style on. I used to always dress really plain but decided I was bored with it, and realized that it made me feel insecure in a way. I've never bought the exact same item someone has "advertised" but I get the general theme and sort of go from there. Seeing the sort of clothing others bought that I thought I could never wear made me realize that I should buy more items that are out of my comfort zone. Now people compliment my outfits frequently and the more out-there the outfit I'm wearing is, the more I'm forced to feel confident in it. So I think haul videos indirectly helped me with a few personal issues.
Ok my videos usually get maybe 100 views, but I did a USED CHILDREN'S CLOTHING HAUL to show my mom what I got at a sale, and it has about 300 views. I was so confused which is why I clicked on this video 😆
I'm glad someone on Twitter brought up book hauls. I know a lot of them have sponsored titles in them, but I like seeing some books I was unaware of before so I can go to the free library...
Wheezy! This was amazing! Really looking forward to more of these. It has all your regular humor but really has something interesting to say! Also: HOW HAVE YOU NOT SEEN 500 DAYS OF SUMMER????
I did not know what "haul videos" were until now. At the start of your video, I had images of semi-truck drivers showing off what they haul, or how much crap a person could get their friend to haul in their electric pickup truck on a Saturday night. Now I know why I never watch haul videos. I do like watching your videos most of the time. Thanks for the education.
After watching a haul video, your video about haul videos came up-could not stop laughing. You know what’s next in my cue....watching a “plan with me” video. Girls literally film themselves filling out their day planners for the week, with stickers and markers and a lot of bling. I find interesting that the plan includes planning the plan. The whole thing is so ridiculous that I can’t stop watching. Makes me want to buy a planner and stickers and go to town.
Some minimalist videos can be like that. "Look how wonderful I am. I own one pair of jeans, two tee shirts and one pair of sneakers. You, on the other hand, are a wasteful shame on society because you own twice as many items as me and probably three dresses as well."
Love your videos and I just wanted to comment that my husband mentioned he heard on the news social media makes people depressed like being on Facebook Instagram Twitter etc. Well personally you don’t need to be Fellini to figure that one out. Your video of not being on the Internet for one month has proven that. You guys are great keep up the good work of making me laugh. Thank you👍😘
Good to see you’re still making reliability good consistent content. Every time I come back to your channel I know I will see something good that I like and good quality
Hey Beardlovers!
My next video is going to be all about my and Chyna's experience quitting added sugar for a month. But also generally about sugar in our diet. Does anyone have thoughts on this? I'd be interested to see articles or books you've read on the subject. Thanks for the help!
Also, this won't be a "Why Do People Like" video but more of those will be coming!
Wink (ding),
Craig
WheezyWaiter hooray! I've been waiting for that one!
But they are lies. Lies that use predictable short term effects to push their agenda.
Anyway Craig, I really hope you read this comment even though it is long and saying stuff that will challenge many of the beliefs you have. The topic is very important to me because my wife is a doctor who wrote a thesis about it and after spending most of year learning what the current medical understanding of all this is, it is really painful to be surrounded by a society that believes so many false things and believes them to their own detriment.

This is great. I'm honestly hooked on your vids! Thanks for the editing and behind the scenes hours, brotha!
ohmygosh your dad reading the die hard DVD 😂
I think one of your funniest, most dense and best edited videos! This one got me hooked to your channel!
Is your father reading a DVD-box cause he GOT DRUNK!?
It is blue-ray box, so hip of him.
nah pal, he's probably using the disk as a mirror and comparing his hairstyle to Bruce's on the insert and thinking "damn, I got more hair on my head than Bruce's Weenie, I mean Willis."
LOL:D
Honestly thats just my second video to watch from this channel and i cant explain how or why im loving it so much
OMG YOU'RE BACK YAY!!! (also so sorry about Mitzy rest in peace)
Oh, I hadn't heard that Mitzi passed. I'm SO sorry! Our pets really are family.
yeah. I've been following it all on instagram through chyna's account and it was a really sad day when mitzy was gone, but we all knew it was coming. she was very sick and was eating and drinking less with interest in physical activity steeply declining.
dude just found your channel and IM OBSESSED WITH EVERYTHING :')
Hey, a funny story:
I'm a new subscriber and i LOVE the content! So the other day my mom came over and she said this video kept popping up with these two people holding sugar have you seen it? It's so funny! I immediately told her how TH-cam works and how to get to all your videos! Then we watched this one together it's my favorite! Two new subscribers for wheezywaiter!
Haha.. feature your parents more!
“Dried peanut butter and dead skin, cute 🤷🏽♀️.” Lmaoooo
Sorry about Mitzy man.
We'll all miss her. :(
So intelligently funny! And the editing? Forget about it~ I'm hooked!
This was amazing! Chyna and your parents also really cracked me up. Would love to see more like this!

4) You're hilarious
Some of your best work yet, keep it up
I laughed so much, glad I found you!
OMG I cried a little while falling off of my chair in laughter...
I gotta say, you make some of the most entertaining and authentic videos out there. Thanks for keeping it real and cutting through all the BS
Why do people like asmr videos?
withcheesepls for many people they are relaxing and help them fall asleep, offering relief from insomnia and depression
I never got it, they are as calming (to me) as someone chewing yogurt with their mouth open next to me in a small room I can't leave.
...because they fall within the section of the population which can experience autonomous sensory meridian response which is apparently very pleasurable.
Disgusting!
Yas
THIS IS BRILLIANT ... a riot ... I love how you combine entertainment with THOUGHT.
Highly Sensitive Person THIS!
Editing is on point. 😂
I love that you brought back imitating the emojis 😊

This is really good! All your hard work paid off :)

Ok my videos usually get maybe 100 views, but I did a USED CHILDREN'S CLOTHING HAUL to show my mom what I got at a sale, and it has about 300 views. I was so confused which is why I clicked on this video 😆
The lumberjack trying to read a sign had me laughing in tears
I don't know how i made it here but you make me laugh and you are extremely likeable, that makes me happy. Keep it up. *Flies away*
Loved it! So many d jokes. The supporting cast was also fantastic!
THE CLIP OF YOUR PARENTS. I LIVE FOR IT.
I need more of Butch and Hot Stuff in my life.
I found an use for unboxing videos: Reboxing returns and you can't figure out how to get the dang thing back into the original box. Very useful!
The only haul videos I like are ASMR haul videos, because those have the *intention* of lulling me to sleep.
Your parent intercuts are just EFFFin GOLD!
Dude, just finished watching 6 videos in a row and gottasay your channel is #goals!
great to see you back! been like 6 years since i last watched you...
The haul portion of this video (at least the narration) was giving me some big Ze Frank's "the show" vibes.
I have been hooked on these videos yet and they are done very well.
Intelligent and funny at the same time.
I agree. Hauls are like a big humble brag. They pass it off as casual but it’s more about “look what I got and wish you had”
Some minimalist videos can be like that. "Look how wonderful I am. I own one pair of jeans, two tee shirts and one pair of sneakers. You, on the other hand, are a wasteful shame on society because you own twice as many items as me and probably three dresses as well."
nah. not even humble. just straight out bragging. lmao
Thank you👍😘
Last time I made a "last time I was this early" joke in the comments, it ended about as well as this one.
Probably one of my favorite WheezyWaiter videos! I'm mopping up my tears of laughter as I type!!
I work at express and I appreciate your clothing choices.
shhhhhhhhhh, I went to lots of different stores or something.
Hysterical. Never heard of haul videos...now wish I could get the last 14 minutes back.
lmfao your dad reading the inside of a blu ray case.
On a serious note, amazing video. The wait was certainly worth it. Funny as can be
Good to see you’re still making reliability good consistent content. Every time I come back to your channel I know I will see something good that I like and good quality
Omg, you're back! :D
OK, I gotta tell ya - I am watching this AGAIN - and laughing my face off. Thanks for your brilliance.
