All of the houses you toured were so spacious and unique for 2.5/3k was blowing my mind where I'm at that would be double for half the size

It's super normal to need more than a month to apartment search or house search in Michigan. I think you've just been lucky in the past. A lot of rentals want you to make 3.5x the rent, have a 700+ credit score, good renters history, no large pets, and no kids and even then they may not have a unit available on such short notice.
I know in my part of Ohio a lot of places hesitate in approving people who are self employed in the art industry because it’s not a stable income. It feels like she wasn’t living in her last apartment very long and left due to not feeling creative anymore in it. I don’t always feel creative in my office and living with grandma but I just can’t afford to move when I’m just not feeling it. I don’t know it just feels a little rushed to me how quickly she moved. 😕
@@autumnsartstudio Agreed. If she's happy, I'm not judging, but the carpet in the bathroom would have been an immediate no for me. I can understand not wanting to sign a new lease in an apartment you don't want to stay in, but I feel like the deadline of having to move out in a month greatly limited her options.
@explicitlyme7497 I just want to know how she gets approved with a art job. I've heard someone say recently that they couldn't get approved because they were in-between studio jobs and she lived in California. She had to wait a few months till she got a paper saying she had a job at that studio. She said if she didn't have her fiance with her she probably wouldnt be able to move. I know not everyone wants to reveal their income but the way they film the process feels like it's all positive and happy.
@@autumnsartstudio along with being an artist she is a content creator so she isn't really ever between jobs like the other person
I was gonna say! I started looking at apartments 3 months before moving in and that wasn't abnormal at all. That said it did allow me to find a place that ticks 90% of my boxes so proactivity pays off!

I cant get over how big houses are over there are, here in New Zealand we pay the same a month for a house 1/4 to 1/3 the size usually with damp/mold problems and drafts. Im so happy you found a nice house ^-^

I make nowhere near enough to split those rental prices with one other person and that makes me sad for some reason. I don’t need a lot of money to be happy, but I want enough to live comfortably.
Keep chugging along and try not to compare your stuff to others (as is the material curse of the internet). In my part of the US you can rent a home that size for half the price, and owning is even further reduced. You will find a way to get to where you need to be. Keep your chin up and best wishes!

moving is always hard but its a new start - getting rid of things, cleaning out, getting new things and just a change in general so i love it'

but crying because these prices are on par with condo rentals - studio or 1 bed - in toronto 😭
the carpet bathroom is soooooo cursed, I'm still icky about it but it's so worth it for the rest of the space~ the rent is really the only thing we have going for us here LOL
I live near toronto too, literally shook at the thought of a whole house being for rent for the equivalent of a crappy 1 bed where I live🥲

Im happy for you! It's such a lovely house - hope it will be a lovely home too. It's so wild to see such a short time frame. Here (Denmark) most renting and moving takes 2-3 months at least.

omg i'm so happy for you!!! so much space I think i'd be overwhelmed!😱 blackout curtains for the tv room is a must and I think window treatments in all the rooms would really elevate the space!!! idk why but hanging curtains is always one of my fav parts of moving, I think it's so transformative and can really bring energy to a room. u were brave painting that table while it was inside 😅 I liked the multicolor legs. PS 1000/10 recommend having an exterminator come too 😂 only needs every 6 months and I don't see any creepy crawlers. I also agree that focusing on statement pieces you really love instead of cluttering the walls is a good call. I have this beautiful vintage abstract painting and that alone brings me so much inspiration and joy whenever I see it. you don't need 100 things on the wall to be invigorated. love the plushes on top of the clothing rack 😚 I think that concludes my thoughts hahah but I wish you the best through this
omg we had almost the exact situation with our apartment where it was on the list, but we werent going to see it, and last minute ended up going bc we basically hated everything else (apt, location or price), and we absolutely fell in love. we also had the same move in day as you!!! everything happens for a reason and manifesting your dreams is so crucial. happy for you

We're trying to find a place too move to too. We're looking for houses or townhouses, but it's getting difficult since there is less available in the winter here. Not to mention we have pets and everything has carpet. It's nice to see that the housing market is the same everywhere lol. That carpeted bathroom is uh a choice lol.

Wow congrats! I didnt know house rent there are ssooo cheap! In Europe where i live, you wont find that rent price for such a big house! Probably you would need 4K.The 2K is mostly with only 70ft2 apartment in the city. Still, happy for you.
Pro tip to getting approved for a house lease.
1. Put more security down
2. Pay the first month or first couple months immediately
3. Submit application on spot during the viewing if you really love it
4. Don’t mention that you run a small business out of this home. Most private owners don’t prefer complex situations and dynamics (3-4 roommates)

It’s really helpful to hear your thoughts and experiences on finding rented accommodation because, although you’re in a different country and our systems do have differences as well as similarities, it’s helped me feel a bit more able to be patient with “the system”. Up until now I just get so frustrated with how flippant landlord’s and letting agencies can come across, and it creates this awful panic and need for everything to happen immediately in me. That in itself isn’t good because then I could say yes to a space that’s totally unsuitable! No wonder they say moving house is one of the most stressful events a person can experience….

0:31 this is how much a 1 bedroom 1bathroom 500sq ft is in Coquitlam/Vancouver BC CANADA!! I’m so jealous. These places look HUGE whereas here those prices can’t even get you a 2bed 2bath anywhere. It’s nuts.

Hi Tiffany! This is my first time commenting on a video of yours.
Just wanted to say a big thank you as I'm hopefully moving for the first time into my own home in the next month or so with my husband (in my country, Singapore, it's small and land is scarce, so prices for homes are extremely high. We usually live with our parents until we get married - so moving out is a big deal!), and was initially dreading it a TON as renovations and furnishings have had many issues along the way that I felt like this journey felt cursed almost. Watching your video made me a lot more optimistic about it, and watching you set everything up made me look forward to making my future home a ~home~ too, so... thank you!
Everytime I feel like my home journey isn't a good one, I'll watch this video again to remind me of how good it feels to look forward to having a space I can call my own.
