This is so relatable! I change up my desk layout every few weeks too it’s such a good way to freshen things up especially for people like me who gets bored easily and seek changes often 😅

To move heavy stuff, it helps to put some cardboard (like from amazon orders or something) under it. That way it helps to slide/ move around! I've used that method myself 🙂

I literally can't move any furniture around because my room is small and the ceiling is slanted. Every furniture has it's place where it fits.

you can always try rearranging the decor if you want a change! even moving posters or keepsakes around can be a little boost in change
I really feel the „rearranging my room all the time when I was little" thing a lot, i used to do that a ton, at some point even every 2 weeks or so, also thank you for posting this video, I’ve been feeling unmotivated recently and seeing that not everything has to revolve around art all the time is a relief! quick tip. if you have small yet bulky items [like that thing at 9:14] try putting half or all of it on like a towel or blanket and move it on that. then you can pull the towel instead.

In my personal experience, when I have a studio space, it's filled with so much art stuff & merch majority of the time (🌷*flashback to your tulip-filled studio as example* 🌷haha). So that's why when it's cleaned up, it feels "empty". I hope you'll share an update on how this new layout feels for you after a while! 💛 Agreed there is something quite refreshing and empowering about switching up your space once in a while! 💪
I also think because everything is up against the wall it looks that way. That is the problem I have here.
Looks like a way better layout, so much lighter and better use of the natural light. I also love moving things around in my studio space, gives me that new energy to work and come up with new ideas. I don't know about you, but I don't like having my back to the door, so this looks nice

Your previous set up was great. Direct light falling into your creative working spaces, no desks jutting out into the middle of the room. All you needed was a bright rug to cover up the empty space in the middle and it would have been fine. ❤
I liked it too, but just wanted a little change! The light was a little too bright on my art desk sometimes and it would just reflect to brightly off the white table :(
I often want to turn my table like that. The room I work in is an old attic and the ceilings are slanted and there are windows in the peaks so the table would have to sit right in front of the window if I wanted ultimate headspace. But if #### falls off of the table what a pain to have to get it picked up (I'm 60+ so not as agile as you are). I wish the tables were a bit wider or had a clip on lip to keep things from falling. Maybe I just need another one to butt up against it. Where it is now I can sit comfortably but to get anything to the left I have to duck due to the ceiling. It is unmotivating. So it is interesting to see what it looks like when you turned yours. And thanks for giving me something to think about other than how miserable I am now that "the covid" caught up to me. BAH. i do this to my room at least once a month - always cycle through the same handful of setups, but IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

I love your space! Right now my daughter and I are sharing the dining room as an art space and we're really short of good storage. Also because it leads to our backdoor my hubby and son drop a lot of stuff into the space when they come home. It's also the only part of our lounge/dining/kitchen open plan space that never got finished in the house reno so it needs redecorating anyway. I can see a lot of work coming in my future.
I learned the hard way that you can add pads to the bottom of those older pieces and they will slide more easily..
this is so smart, I think I'll do that the next time I have to lift this old bookcase up haha
I spontaneously rearranged my office awhile back too so this video was so fun to watch!! definitely comforting to have your desk/work area in a lil nook and not have your back facing the wide open room (which was also the case with my old setup) ☺️

I love what you did with the space!! We too often place things like desks, couches, even shelving directly against the wall but what you did with the two desks to sort of make one large desk that separates it from the wall really makes the space more dynamic!! Great choices.

the near Center of the room. Not too much in the center, just a little bit kinda like off center position. But i think where you
put it now works just fine ! Even for me ! 😊👍
There are little round discs that you can put under the legs or corners of heavy furniture and it makes them easier to move. You’ll feel like Superman 😂
