The best thing about this category in my mind: This category is only a little bit faster than 112% APB, which means killing every overworld boss in that Pantheon 5 order is just a little bit faster when compared to killing all of the overworld bosses, gathering all charms and abilities with their upgrades, all masks, soul vessels and charm notches AND doing all five boss rushes. It's kinda ridiculous how convoluted Pantheon 5 Boss Order actually is.
While watching this, the discussion of meme categories caused me to think of two. Feel free to steal these:
Date%: save Bretta and sit on the bench next to her.
Matchmaker%: fully save Bretta and Zote, have Cornifer return home, have Sheo and Nailsmith meet, complete the Grey Mourner's quest, and introduce Leg Eater to Divine. Yes, I am aware of how much Geo is needed for this run. Good luck if you decide to try this, because I won't. Also feel free to let me know if I missed any matchmaking opportunities.
I adore the idea of Matchmaker% even though as someone very new to Hollow Knight (I'm just now getting to Godmaster content after completing everything else on my first file), much less speedrunning the game, I have no idea how it'd be routed. Just seems like a good meme theme :P

That was a sick run and I enjoyed every moment of it! I've never really watched any HK categories other than Any% and Pantheon 5 so this was a fascinating run to see!

Ahhh. This run is great! My girlfriend is currently playing Hollow Knight- I watched this in hopes of maybe being able to help her out with a guide! Unfortunately that is not going to be possible because this run is too dev intended.
It's amazing that you don't really need to do a lot of sequence breaks and skips. Hallownest is just so open that you can just get to most of these bosses in this order
This is true, although there is a lot of tech used in the game that would've made normally impossible routing possible if it didn't exist (and most of the tech definitely wasn't intended lol), so quite honestly there is more sequence breaking here that meets the eye, it just isn't what stereotypical sequence breaking would look like. On the other hand, the second half of the game is super open because you pretty much have all mandatory movement, so there really is not much skips or sequence breaks there even with tech.
Never seen or played Hollow Knight, but that was amazing
It's a very good game. If you like tough, atmospheric metroidvanias with some souls-y elements, I'd recommend it.

Oh my god I'm excited for this! I love hollow knight but I am not a huge fan of the super glitched speedruns of it. I love seeing the skill of people just whooping ass against the bosses normally!

If anyone's curious, I looked up which Whispering Roots would be optimal to get that extra 250 Essence so that you get DreamGate after Elder Hu.

anyone know if he uses M&K or JoyStick?
mathulu uses controller (and specifically the joystick, if memory serves). There's honestly about a 50-50 split between keyboard users and controller users, and there's some of each at every skill level, so using controller is absolutely not a requirement for getting good times in this game.
playing through it now, had some fun and excitement (just got dream nail) but it is not my type of game, so I will watch instead
also switch version sucks (i thought it would be good), input lag, input drop, 30fps, not good for these type of game where every input is precious
Hollow Knight rules
He overcharmed at 1:24:30 but does not have the pink masks and does not take double damage. Why?
he's not overcharmed anymore cause of the notch he picked up
A few seconds later he gets hit for double mask dmg.
Shortly after (compared to overall time of the run) he gets a new charm notch negating the over charmed status
