    This was great, I’ve been T1D for almost 15 years and I was never taught the formulas to calculate carb ratios or sensitivity factor. thank you ! 💙

    I’ve been t1d for 26 years and nobody has ever explained this to me!! Thank you so Much!!! My settings on my pump were off… no surprise there. Where did the standard 1700 & 500 come from?

    I’ve had t1 for 58 yrs and nobody ever explained this to me ,no doctors,nurses.I’ve had a insulin pump for 10 yrs.She sounds right.Thanks

    The 1700 rule or 1800 rule is only a guess. This is almost as bad as using a sliding scale for MDI. And this doesn't even address the fact that the higher your Bg is the MORE insulin that will be required. But sure it's a starting point. So, well explained for that purpose.

    When do you give correction dose? 2 hrs after meal?

      If its NovoRapid / Humalog / Apidra then 2 hrs after meal and for Actrapid or regular insulin 3 hrs after meal and in both the conditions blood sugar level is above 180 mg/dl.

      Bhai mixtard ki jagah regular insulin lo.....regular short acting insulin hai...wo khana khaane se pehle lii jati hai

    Are we sure about ISF... because insulin sensitivity is different for everyone and can't be derived by standard numbers...I mean we must put in formula how body is reacting to insulin.. example 50 units of insulin may not bring down sugars to same level in two different ppl..

    Isf is 1700/TID or 1500/TID?

      It depends on which insulin you are using. If you are on Human insulin means Actrapid / Insulin R/ Regular Insulin, it is 1500/TDD and if you are on analogue insulin like NovoRapid / Apidra / Humalog / Fiasp, it is 1700/TDD.

      bolus is rapid acting that you take before meals. and basal is a long acting insulin that you take either once or twice a day ..

      its a CORRECTION dose.. which means its not for a meal :)
