  • The idea is to see if the more “efficient” systems can be run with an 1800 watt generator vs lugging along a 3400 watt backup.
    See the latest video on using a smaller generator with the Truma. • Micro Minnie FLX: Trum...

    When your TV tripped the generator overload, did you have the Xantrex on the 30AMP input setting? Mine did this when I plugged into my garage 15A outlet, but when I used the Xantrex app to change the input to 15A, everything worked fine and didn’t trip my garage breaker.

    Doesn't it depend on how the inverter/charger works? It could pull from the battery and generator at the same time if there is some battery left. Or it could just charge the battery and all the load goes off the battery regardless of external power connection.

    How long will the air conditioning run on full before depleting the battery

    I am just wondering if you have checked or know of the parameters on solar charger and inverter? I'm a service tech and I found many of our FLX units were not set at factory. This would cause a problem of not getting full potential from the Lithionics battery.

      Just went through this with the settings list from Winnebago and they were indeed set to default vs the Factories settings. Vid is on the way.

    So was the AC running off of the generator or was the inverter taking the starting load. I don't understand how you could be running a full load and also absorption charging at the same time. You did explain that you have a Truma AC which is an inverter type AC which effectively soft starts. In other words don't try this with a normal AC. How many BTUs is that AC? I can run my GE 15000 BTU off of a Honda Eu 2000 (about the same generator). It starts off of the Victron Multiplus and switches to the generator after starting. It will also run off battery alone but only for a couple of hours. Can you run off of battery alone? I suspect that you could if your battery can provide enough current. I have seen my Victron draw as much as 235 amps of 12V but that is running AC and microwave at the same time. This is extreme case for me but nice to know that it can do it.

      The AC easily runs off the battery. It just drains the battery big time.

    how long does it take to charge your lithium batteries with a 110 30 amp?

    • @speedbumpmedia9584
      @speedbumpmedia9584  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would plan on about %10 in 30min. That is taking into account the fridge is on with some other light loads.

    Does your truck charge your trailer's lithium batteries while you are towing and did you have to make any modifications?

    • @speedbumpmedia9584
      @speedbumpmedia9584  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The battery will only charge from the solar while driving. The truck only runs the lights and brakes.

      @@speedbumpmedia9584 You might look to see if your truck has a circuit to charge the battery while you are connected/towing. I know my F150 had the circuit but I had to add a relay and a fuse to make it all work.

      Nope. The way the FLX is configured and with the lithium battery, the 7 way only feeds the lights, brakes, and power jack. Direct from Winnebago: Q: Will my battery charge from the 7-way while driving?
      A: No, the 7-way will provide auxiliary power to the unit to power clearance lights, but it does not charge the battery. Lithium batteries cannot accept the charge coming from a standard tow vehicle battery, but your unit’s battery will charge from the solar panels while in transit.

      For CPAP check out portable battery power station. I use a jackery 240 with the CPAP car adapter and get 2.5-3 days w no water heater

      Hahaha! We bought one to scoot at tracks where we can’t get golf carts. Seemed like a corny tie into the FLX package. 😉

    Yeah because the freakin electric does not work. It cannot support the air. I know that. I have 2022 bh2100. The fridge takes so much power nothing else works right. I have run the generator 4 hours and still got a 2/3 charge. The fridge isESG policy and you cannot boondock camp with it. You are always discharge to power-always going down. No, the generator will not sustain the air. It will shut down after a short time. If you can’t boondock in Alaska with 22-23 hours light,it is not working. I boondock camp in Alaska every year. And this is the worse without power. I use a 600 power station for small electric,a little buddy gas heater for heat. I might as well have a cardboard box to camp. The heat does not work because not enough power to start or maintain. This Winnebago is shit. Winnebago is not customer friendly or cooperative. They said the fridge works. It does not. At only g3tting to 2/3 power it does not make it to morning on some nights and it is off. My ice cream melting is the last straw in tolerating the situation. I put in a work order it does not work. Not when it goes off and takes all the power. Some nights have been 30’s&40’s. I put the little buddy on in morning to heat up. My generator is a Cummins 2400. It will not run air. The fridge pulling so much and then air it stops. Also,you know this is ruining my batteries. Rv place tested and the fridge will run 5 hours on 12 volt battery. That does not work. This ESG fridge is stupid and does not work. I also keep a 90 watt panel plugged in with the 190 that is on the roof. That’s steady 280watts. This unit is a solar set up. Winnebago needs to get back to the old and make good on their stupidity and costly policy for the customer. Not to mention defeating the camping idea. This is really crap. Also,this is why people are looking to older campers and fixing up. I had an old68 Avalone which I wish was still useful for my camping. Steel frame went. Not up to Alaska/canada terrain.
