loved watching this, the scale highlighting work is downright inspiring, you just have so much control over that brush! the whole paintjob is an excellent flex of your skills on a larger than normal miniature, too
@@MidwinterMinis Work it out to get yourself a participant ticket to golden demon this upcoming year to prove to yourself how talented you actually are Guy.
As someone who paints a lot of dinosaurs and lizards for Age of Sigmar, seeing your technique with patterning was very inspiring and helpful! Gotta give something like this a try next time I paint a carnosaur or something similar!
Hearing you say Hydra's Head Minis in the new patrons section is a serotonin trip for me! That's a hobby blog that my friends and I run, and we've all been super inspired by you, Guy!
@@MidwinterMinis I love non-GW painting content. I know RPG and board game minis arent as nice as Warhammer or other wargame minis, but I low key hope that that chicken-and-egg cycle gets broken if there was more non-GW painting content.
Capo is short for Capodecina, a reference to one of the leaders from the (Theives) Guild faction for Carnevale, TT Combat's skirmish game set in Venice. They're usually dressed in red.
Really great paint job Guy! Love to see how you paint other miniatures and it's nice to see something other than GW content despite the YT algorithm. Can't wait to see your plans for the rest of the year!
i reckon the word you were looking for is "maw". excellent word when used in conjunction with qualifiers like "toothy" or "gnashing" and followed up by things like "of despair" or "where the ceiling should be"... or "roll for initiative ".
Wait wait ... Did I just see a battletech box in there. Oh please tell me that's in your 2023 schedule!! Also, that T-Rex!! Amazing to see the amount of detail you were able to add to such a blank canvas.
The gloss varnish on the eye looks sooo good. While watching I was thinking you´d do the same to the mouth and teeth to get some more mouthwatering effect there... could also look weird now that I think about it. Also I am currently sorting some old nostalgia boxes while watching this and I just stumbled over some toy dinos from backwhen :) great timing!
Loving the content, Guy. Looking forward to what you've got lined up for 2023 videos. A few quick suggestions..... If you do any further paint reviews, could you please potentially look at using them on some of the other minis from the Judge Dredd game (the Dredd mini painting video you did last year ranks as 1 of my all-time favourites, that whole game system has some beautiful minis in it which would look very bright and vibrant once painted up). Oh, and also........ SPACE CRUSADE!!! Keep up the great work ❤️
bro. you and a couple others are why i got into this hobby mid last year. and why i now burn a damn hole in my wallet every couple of days :P i am so glad i found you. lets hope to another good year my guy :P
pinball and mini-painting.. who'd think those two of my hobbies go together so well? you should definitely paint more pinball stuff ;D (for example, the Lord of the rings pinball machine would be a very obvious one^^) thx for this video!
There's a couple of Jurassic Park gaming miniatures out there that'd be ripe for a treatment if you were ever so inclined! (Legacy of Isla Nublar, and Unmatched has Rex vs Ellie & Muldoon vs Raptors boxes). Heck, maybe someday that Jurassic World miniatures game will actually release at retail (or even reach its _exceptionally patient_ backers)
It's nice to see something outside the hobby spiced up with your skills Guy. FYI if you Google oil painting color checkers; you'll see a simple tool for matching exactly those troublesome colors. It's basically a grey stick with a peep hole with a spot to put the assumed color; that is compared to the source color... Or you could keep using your girlfriend as your color checker. She seems to have a good eye for color.))
WOW guy! This is now my 2nd favorite video you've done (2nd only to the mighty Plague Marine tank!) This video really shows off your amazing skills as a painter, i would love to see more content like this AMAZING!
Absolutely love what you've done with this one. I've got a t-rex wallmount I've had for a while, and I've been slowly building up to painting it, but wasn't sure where to start. I like what you did on this one, although I'd probably do different colours, but the techniques are so helpful ^^
Thanks for this Guy! I am so pleased with how she turned out. Good to see you again after all these years and hopefully we can catch up again soon 😁
No worries matey! :D Let's do it again soon.
iiits Jamie!
@Jamie Moore You should upload a video of the upgraded JP pinball game with the T-Rex. Just subbed. (I also like W40k and Pinball lol).
Jamie epic man cave dude
@@mandogaming7629 thanks mate, let me know if you're ever in the area 🤘
To hell with the algorithm forever, fun projects are the spice of life. This was great!
I vibrated with excitement when I saw this title
Jurassic park is my favorite movie ^^ so i love this

This was great!! Massive JP nerd here and this was a huge treat
Glad you liked it!
Great video Guy! I'm a palaeontologist and I approve of this paint job!
@Abe Froman while he probably is I feel I need eye bleach after reading this comment

I love Hatti just chilling in the background as a bored seeing-eye human lol
Capo red is probably referring to a capo for a guitar, which are normally glossy red
what an awesome video. Am I crazy or was the music a synth grimdark version of the jurassic park theme

Absolutely awesome paint-job a massive improvement. Thank you for saying you'll finish old projects. Nice video. Keep up the good work.
Do I hear a very dramatic version of the Jurassic Park theme accompanying this video? Very nice. Very nice indeed.
She looks great! Nice to have something different then GW :)
I know right? A nice refreshing little change of pace

YOU DID IT!
When you get back to the "retro paint" job, you should do Salamander.
Love that comes out in the middle of my own Jurassic Park nostalgia trip.
Do 80s and 90s kids ever truly leave their Jurassic Park nostalgia trip?
@@MidwinterMinis I'm an early 2000s kid so I wouldn't know.
I think that Capo Red is a reference to TTCombat's Capodecina model, it has a red and white theme going. Great job with the model too!
I was searching for this answer. Thank you
I was thinking that Capo Red was more a reference to blood as a 'Capo' is an Italian Mob Boss

Hey guy hope you have great productvite year! I am long time fan nad patron from blackstone tutorial, You are true hobby hero! Love the music!!!
Thanks so much! :D
Thank you , Guy .

What a cool thing to paint and touch up. Reminds me of repainting aquarium orniments to make them better

Cool to see you do different little projects but still using your skill sets. Keep up the good work Sir.
That background music.. it's the Jurassic Park Theme played super slow ;) Nice.
Any surface, appropriately primed, is your canvas. Lovely detail on the scales! And loved the ultraslow John Williams theme in the background 😊
I'll tell that to the security guards at the next art gallery I visit ;)
That was really good. Well done Guy
I just started watching u and dont know much about warhammer but I'm hooked and will be watching u forever

This is a delightful project
Klayton Fioriti would be pleased. Looks amazing, Guy!
This is so awesome Guy! Great job!
2:30 the slowed down J Park Blade Runner remix thing is very cool. I am listening at double speed, though.
John Williams at half speed sounds so good!
Mad props for the sneaky musical nod throughout the video.
The Titan Banners idea sounds awesome - not enough videos on that on TH-cam
it's so pretty! i love dinosaurs
Hope to see a lot of battle reports yours are by far my favourites
I love that halfway through I noticed the music playing was a paulstretched version of the Jurassic Park theme from the movies
Love this Guy! Loved your take on the Jurassic Park music too, took a while but could make out those key notes taking me back to that amazing film!!
Great vid Guy. Amazing to see how mini painting techniques can be so effective on other models!
Missing a few scales to create variety.... Yes well played :D. love the paint job

I'm interested in seeing how it holds up to use. Some of those parts go through the ringer in those machines. Excellent work as always

Great video. I will admit, it seems a little over detailed to me close up, but I think it’ll look perfect in the back of a pinball machine.
