Defeatist attitudes are a plague. I have bad eye damage in one eye giving me a large blind spot in the center of my vision which also means I have no literally no depth perception when I'm looking at something. Didn't paint for the longest time because I thought this would make it near impossible. When I finally gave it a shot the first squad I did was far above tabletop standards. Adapt and overcome.

My favourite is the Gigerseque one, that is really nicely done. I also have a soft spot for the classic Genestealer colours, as the original Genestealer Chaos Cult army list was first published in the first White Dwarf I ever bought - issue 116, in 1989!
By the way, it looks like you really need to scrape some dried paint out of the lid of your pot of yellow paint, if you want it to stay useable for much longer.
We used to call them the California Raisins

I'm in the middle of making up a GSC and Tyranid army. My friend is basically as salty as Hexagon about them being trash but, the collectors edition rule book says otherwise. Nids are coming and they're approaching Terra.
Tbh I'm not a competitive person. I play with things that are rule of cool, and GSC and nids are cool as heck :D

as far as I and the people in r/Tyranids can tell, they are not going to be anywhere near good during the beginning of 9th, hopefully that gets sorted out eventually.

I had the original issue with both expansions and painted over fifty of these things in original purple colour. I still twitch when I see a Genestealer. Great vid as always 😃

You sir, are a gentleman. I have been looking at my Space Hulk box for ages, daunted by the volume of genestealers but I’ll have them all primed and ready for paint tonight. After painting up the BSF sets and seeing the amazing result I got following along, I can’t wait for this.

My Tyranids belong to "Hive Fleet Bumble"
I base coat the model black, then on all the chitinous armour plating I paint on patterned markings similar to that found on wasps.
I start the pattern with a dark yellow and gradually blend up to an extremely bright yellow finish. I do the same yellow colour scheme on all of their Rending Claws, scything Talons & Boneswords.
I have no shooting weapons within my army! only sharp, pointy stabby ones! I wanted to symbolise a wasp/bee's stinger within my armies theme.
I picked out the eyes & tongues with a bright vibrant green (GW Moot Green) to really make them pop on the models.
I then used (GW Ardcoat) on all of the chitinous armour plating & all the sharp, pointy stabby weapons to finish the models. The paint scheme looks striking when you deploy the army for a game the vast size differences in the models pulls it all together as my hungry horde rushes across the battlefield.

What an inspiring video! Really love the scheme and the way you cut out all the complexity- it really feels like something an amateur like me can achieve! I'm really looking forward to seeing the terminators and the 2ed tactical marines painted up too - especially in a classic goblin green style!

The fact he can paint so many models that look amazing fast while colorblind is amazing!
Fun fact: Damon Albarn was originally going to call his band Blurple, but after a chance encounter with HR Giger, he was convinced to shorten it by the Zurich sage. The rest is history.

What i like about your videos is that you call the colours by their name: "add a bit of BROWN, a touch of YELLOW etc", not "Pick your XV-88, your NAGGAROTH NIGHT etc"

The Space Hulk video games were my very first introduction to Warhammer 40K back in the early 90s. I always wanted to play the board game, and now that I am finally really into Warhammer, I can no longer get Space Hulk. Sometimes it shows up on eBay, but is very overpriced now.
Tbh I love them all but that might be from the fact that you painted them so well. HOWEVER, OG Genestealer and Xenostealer look absolutely gorgeous.
Also Space Hulk Terminator speed paint when? I'd love to see some wacky but still badass schemes.
Hi Guy, not sure if you'll ever see this, but your work is AMAZING! Is there any chance could you go through how you painted the bases for the Xenomorph, green alien and ET scheme models please? Even if it's just some steps in text on here / in the description. :)
They mostly paint them at night. mostly. Those Giger style ones are fantastic! loved the subtle colours.

So, um... when you say "the latest version of the model" right near the beginning and show a really good looking modern genestealer... where *did* you get that? All the purestrain genestealer figures I see on sale these days have that weird flat freight-palette carapace on their backs that I'm really not fond of, but the one you're showing has the round ribbed-bits-of-flesh-between-carapace-armour-gaps look that the original genestealer models had, but with what looks like the same articulation as the modern palette-backed ones? I'd love some but I don't know where to buy them... :/

Nice video. Reminds me of my tyranid army back in the days of 3rd ed. Liche Purple, drybrushed Blood Red, with claws Bleached Bone drybrushed over Bronzed Flesh. Those paints are still going strong over 20 years later!

really love the brown one. it feels the most natural, like it could be a real horrifying alien. Gene-stealers always start feeling "fake" when they are brighter fancier colours

Sadly I've painted all of my genestealers into a zerg-ish color scheme that's working out alright, but that green scheme you did is a game changer.
Now I'm in a bit of a pickle trying to decide if I should strip the paints on my 2,000 point army and tackle that green scheme or just leave it.. decisions, decisions. Anyway, thanks for the shoutout Guy. I'm looking forward to seeing more videos from you!

Mwa ha ha! Got myself a load of the Space Marine Heroes S2 terminators. Enough to paint up 5x Ultra Marines, 5x Imperial Fists, 5x Dark Angels & 5x Blood Angels ready to head in the bowels of a mighty Space Hulk. They’re all primed and ready for painting. This video is a reminder of the mass load of Gene Stealers I need to paint next!

I remember playing Space Hulk with my brother but instead of the space hulk rules, we used the 40k rules to make it more dynamic.

Khaki or خاک in Persian means "dirt coloured" and is pronounced as "kar" in original tongue (it's a loanword really).
