I was given an old pair of eyeglasses, handed down over time. You do have to squint to keep them in place. The chain is to wrap around your head, or attach it somewhere else, have the glasses hang in front because they didn't make the pieces to hang over the ears! It's really old. It's in great shape!
Well that was a rabbit hole. Apparently the crest of the female peahen picks up vibrations from the males when they shake their tail feathers. It's new science and being studied further. Fascinating stuff!
You do have great followers. I enjoy scrolling through some of their fun comments as I enjoy your fun chats! Thanks for hanging in there through this crazy year!
Those are also beautiful! I suppose if a peanut can wear a monocle, a peacock can as well! LOL but whenever I've seen them in movies it does appear that they're holding it between their eyebrow and cheekbone as you said. My sister had a farm that had a peacock and a peahen on it but I still don't know much about them other than they're really loud at times. But they have a really pretty call.
FYI a monacle is usually held in place between the brow and cheek and the chain would go to a small pocket on a gentleman's waist coat, a monacle that is held up to the eye has a handle and was more likely to be used by women, just a bit of trivia.
Fabulous huge stamps that once you’ve colored I’ve fallen in love with them all! So super cute…..I do like that with copics you can add other colors on top and come up with amazing shading! Thanks so much…..
Oooh! I think I might have to get the hummingbird stamp to give all the different colours a try! Thanks for sharing all three cards, all of them are stunning, but I think the peacock is my favourite... 🦚
Hi Sandy, I apologize that I couldn’t figure out how to send a message on your blog. I wanted to say that my favorite image was the peacock. It was beautiful and funny. My holiday was spent with my husband, mom and son. We went swimming, had dinner and watched patriotic fun movies and of course the beautiful fireworks displays on tv (while trying to ignore our neighbors setting off illegal fireworks around us and praying they didn’t start our home on Fire!). I also wanted to thank you for your tutorials! I was so proud of myself when I made a watercolor card of a little girl and a duck with the Eiffel Tower in the background! Although I used the stamps I already had, it came our beautifully! Thank you so much for helping me make that happen! I’m so glad you’re doing well! My very best to you!
I love that you explain your coloring while you are doing it. When I look on pinterest or elsewhere on the internet to get a picture of what I'm about to color, and I save it in some way, I call that my pictorial archive. I have a binder for some of the pictures I've printed out. My fav is the flamingo.
I just made a vow to my self ... no more buying stamps for a few months so I can join your other classes... you are a bad influence! 😉 you are a master of colors, just awesome. P.s. I think a light wash of D.Smith iridescent pearl watercolor paint on the homing bird would also add some magic... thank you
Just a bit of trivia - a flamingo's color is determined by what they eat. They are actually white but the bacteria they feed on is very orangey and can be toxic to other animals (I watch a lot of nature shows!). So that's my bit of sharing for the day. All the cards came out great. It always amazes me that with all the color you add that it doesn't look like mud at the end. TFS
Fabulous! Absolutely fabulous! I love hearing whatever you have to say and your descriptions of what you’re doing so keep on keeping on even if sometimes I don’t quite get it at first 🥴☺️
The crown of the peacock is there for him to know how big a space is when he has to put his head in kind of like the same as a cats whiskers. But peacocks are very proud of their crowns. Knew somebody that cut a peacocks crown because he scratched the kids, the peacock hid away until the crown had grown out again. I so love these Colorado Craft stamps. Wish the postal would begin transporting again.
Amazing colouring. I'm just getting into Copics and need to take some classes when/if things return to normal. In Canada, we are very cautious about re-opening too quickly.
The color of flamingoes is influenced by their diet. Apparently, the pink color comes from shrimp that they eat. If they eat a lot of shrimp, they are a more vibrant color.
Very cool images. Love watching you color. Gives me hope that some day with lots of practice I might be able to color just a bit as well as you. Thank you for teaching us - appreciate it truly.
Hi, Sandy - I'm totally new to your channel and found your coloring spectacular. By any chance, is the phrase/term you were looking for around the 3:07 mark "botanical print"? Thanks for all the ideas! I clicked the thumbs up!
The colors of the flamingo depends on what they wat. They wat lobster and that makers the red OR pink.Really crazy I think. And the things on the head of the peacock have the same purpuse as wiskers on a cat.
Just loved your peacock! The manacle really gave it a steampunk kiss!lol
I love them all but I will pick the hummingbird. They are all beautiful 🥰
Yes Sandy, laughing with you! Love your style and your art, no matter the medium. Just keep on sharing with us, please! Xx

Monocle have chains that attach to a vest button or worn as necklace. Lorgnette has a handle, sometimes static, sometimes "collapsible". :)
I always learn something from your videos. Thanks for sharing these beautiful birds with us.

Love these birds! It’s hard to say which is my favorite, they are all so beautiful. Btw, the flamingo color varies due to diet.

Might well be!

I think that the top of the peacock is only on the male to make them attractive to the females during matting time. Love the cards and your coloring.
So the peacock is wearing a vest!
Because, with those colors, it is clearly a male.
