    My husband and I discovered the Whataburger Mushroom Swiss burger only a few months before they discontinued it! We were crushed! Thanks for this recipe. The taste was spot on.

    Chefs kiss 💋 this recipe nailed it! Although, I ended up mixing the sauce in the pan with the mushrooms to thicken it up and it was heavenly. Thank you kindly for sharing this recipe.

    Thank you for sharing! This is my absolute favorite burger from Whataburger but due to health reasons I need to have an anti inflammatory diet. Unfortunately I highly doubt Whataburger can offer me that with their recipe! But some good beef at home, no bun & your sauce-I’d be in compliance! Thank you! 🥰

    This is a spot on identical copy for the Whataburger Mushroom swiss burger sauce. Make it! Use an entire carton of mushrooms and cook them all the way down. Perfection.

    I love this thank you! My fiance also loves this burger! Since they removed the mushroom swiss from the menu he was a bit disappointed. Now I can try to make it for him!

    Stumbled on this by accident. Hats off to you for attempting to recreate that sauce. I would never know where to begin. It is definitely my favorite burger of all time. If you like grilled onions, add them to the order and enjoy. Its by far the best ever anywhere in my opinion. Hopefully the bank buyout wont screw up this last bastion of an amazing fast food restaurant. Ill have to try the sauce real soon. Thank you.

      Oh the grilled onions sound delicious! I'll definitely add those next time I make this. Thanks for the tip! So far "so good" about Whataburger. We are hoping that the new owners will respect the brand, like Arby's has done for Sonic, so that we can still enjoy all the things that make Whataburger special! :-) Tina

    Also had received a suggestion or hint from a whataburger manager when it came to this. He said "try cream of mushroom soup with the better than bullion, and 'w' sauce and let me know what you think". Haven't been brave to try it yet...

    In the original sauce mayonnaise is a very prominent flavour so I think maybe mayo instead of heavy cream

      She used better than bullion available at any grocery store Anna. She is staying off the computer as much as possible for Lent .

      Used to have a great Swiss mushroom burger at Jacks with brown gravy but they stopped it.

    I'd like to make the sauce a little thicker. Suggestions?

      You could whip the cream before making it. One of those little electric whisks would probably thicken up a half cupful in a cup pretty quickly. Or, use a really thick, sweet cream such as canned table cream or Crema Mexicana table cream (we have Cacique brand here).

I know the heavy whipping cream actually isn't that heavy from what I can get and I know I accidentally was trying to mix some chocolate sauce with the cream when I was trying to make some homemade chocolate ice cream once and instead I ended up creating homemade chocolate butter

    Is there a list of ingredients? Whataburger has recently dropped the mushroom and Swiss off their menu, so in other words, I will not be going back

      sciencelabvideos L - I feel like that's Paprika to give it some colour. It doesn't necessarily add anything to the flavour profile, but it gives it a more aesthetic quality for buyers. I'm a chef, but I've never had the pleasure of trying one of these, so I don't know exactly what I;m trying to duplicate, but I absolutely trust this woman's husband so I'm going to say it's just Paprika. If it has a bite, it's chili pepper.
