Just like how Dr. Roysovitch and his friends crafted the DC fanverse known as "E-27", a fanverse for Marvel must be made, based on the best Marvel has or had to offer.
That's actually the premise for the Ultimate Marvel Universe. Everything in that universe is connected and stems from the super soldier serum. In that universe, Mankind tweaked with the serum so much, they accidentally created a whole other species. Mutant. And Wolverine and Black Panther were the first (in Earth 1610 aka Ultimate Marvel Universe.) And the story takes off from there. Norman Osborn tries to recreate the serums and instead becomes Ultimate Green Goblin. Same with Bruce Banner and he becomes the Hulk. Check out the story arc Ultimate Six. I won’t lie, this scene terrified me as a kid as well, but I didn’t skip it!
The movie it's quite scary in general, at least for a kid. It has various jumpscares, and even people diying on screen.
Going back and watching these as an adult, you undoubtedly catch Sam Raimi’s horror roots in this superhero movie. Makes the film feel grounded and real. That pose at the end and the cut immediately after the jump. *chefs kiss*

The contrast between Norman and his Goblin persona is so stark. You start with a scientist who is vulnerable and desperate and end with a horrifying predator. His heart stopping is the literal death of Norman and birth of something new.

This could’ve been the perfect prep for the mcu, the military wants to recreate the super soldier program and gave that contract to a private corporation: Oscorp
One of the best crossover events in the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
This aged soooo poorly and I love it 😂
this is what the mcu should've done
Hell, didn't Marvel kind of ape the Super Soldier stuff with the original Nick Fury and the whole "Infinity Formula" thing?
