The sisters talk with Brian about a wide range of interesting topics, including the thrill of touring with THREE DAYS GRACE and THE STANDSTILLS, dealing with the cold Canadian weather, the pressure of reimagining a METALLICA classic, what The Warning Army means to them, and much, much more!

The Warning is a Mexican rock band from Monterrey, Nuevo León, formed in 2013 by the Villarreal Vélez sisters: Daniela (guitar, lead vocals, piano), Paulina (drums, lead and backing vocals, piano), and Alejandra (bass guitar, piano, backing vocals). Their most recent album Error was released in June 2022.
The Villarreal Vélez sisters were raised in Monterrey, and all received training on various instruments at an early age. At some point in their childhood, Daniela and Paulina had selected guitar and drums as their primary instruments, respectively. When the youngest of the three, Alejandra, selected bass guitar as her primary instrument at about age 7, the sisters decided to form a rock power trio. They learned to play rock songs, often via the Rock Band video game series, and posted videos of their performances to TH-cam.
In 2014, 12-year-old Paulina was profiled in the women's drumming publication Tom Tom Magazine. The band first gained widespread notice later in 2014 when, at ages 9 through 14, their TH-cam video in which they performed Metallica's "Enter Sandman" went viral among rock music fans, eventually earning more than 20 million views. The video received attention from Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, who offered particular praise for Paulina, saying "The drummer kicks maximum ass!"
Due to notice gained by their "Enter Sandman" video, The Warning decided to seek a record deal and develop their own songs. They raised money through a successful GoFundMe appeal to record the six-song EP Escape the Mind, which was released in 2015. During production of the EP, the band met producer Jake Carmona, who went on to contribute to Escape the Mind and their next three albums. In April 2015, the band appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. During this period the sisters raised funds, including a donation from DeGeneres and the Target Corporation, to attend a five-week training program at Berklee College of Music in the United States.
They also gave two presentations at the TEDx conference at the University of Nevada in 2016 and 2017. The band was known for practicing with the Rock Band video game series early in their history; designers returned the favor by including several songs by The Warning in various editions of the series released during this period. - บันเทิง

Absolutely love these beautiful and ultra talented young ladies. I'm 55 and never expected to be in awe of a female rock band as I do them. They are so loving of their fans and yet so humble. They have been raised right. I can't wait to see them perform again.
We agree! They are extremely humble, and handle themselves with nothing but class. Even more reason to root for them!

50 here and I agree! Not only do i dig the music, but i like THEM and root for them as people. I think the idea of opening up so much on social media platforms was a calculated risk that paid off bigtime because they're such inceredibly likable people. Some other bands might turn people off with their personalities.

@@dakotasymington8353 - I've fallen for these talented ladies too. But I've tried to go back into my past musical history to try and understand why I love them so much. One band I used to follow was Cheap Trick. Their first album has something similar to The Warning...not the same, not all, but similar. The way they composed their songs, their riffs and hooks have a similar way of pulling me in, making me listen. That is what The Warning's music does to me as well. It's compelling music!
I haven't been in the army for long. I'm still a private, but hope to move up to corporal soon.

I always find it heart warming that DPA will always, without fail, mention opening acts along with the headliners when they talk about touring. They don't have to do that and frankly most artists don't.

They respect the other acts...this is one of many things that make them special, they are humble, respectful, and willing to acknowledge their peers. They aren't divas or jaded, they don't expect adulation or people fawning over them. I think they are still surprised at the love and support they get. I hope they never lose their appreciation for their fans and the opportunities they get.

Just found out about this channel from the announcement video a few days ago, Cool that it's in my hometown. I went to that show, first time seeing them perform live, it was awesome. Took my nephew to the show as his first concert. He lost his mind after we passed Dany and Pau while crossing the street and realised we were going to see them. To everyone that hasn't seen them live yet, Do it! the videos of their shows doesn't do justice for how great these ladies are.
I truely believe these girls are on their way in being one of the best female rock bands out there. They are very driven and willing to put in the work.

They had prior engagements immediately after this ended, which is why it wasn't longer, but we had a blast talking with Dany and Pau. And while this interview was in Canada, we're actually American.

Best band in the world! Dany, Pau and Ale are already legends. Their concert in Lima Peru was the most epic performance ever (thanks to the Warning Army for posting the footage). When Pau was thanking the crowd I really believe she'd been crying a bit because the audience gave so much back to them. Absolutely amazing. Great interview. The real thing about TWA, as I see it, is that loyalty begets loyalty. Dany, Pau, and Ale are just great people in addition to being superb musicians and songwriters, and it's their loyalty to the fans that makes them something special.

Thanks for sharing the interview. You did a great job. You might want to investigate why your audio is clipping. If you are recording the Rode Wireless Go audio directly to the camera then perhaps your audio level setting on the camera needs to be turned down to avoid the clipping.

Dona is a nickname given to video game streamer Dany, so when she's playing online video games, she's not dany anymore, she's Dona. That's why she usually makes jokes with donuts and dressed as a donut on Halloween 2 years ago. Of course Dona means Donut.
