I come from a nice town in north Alabama & last Sept. i visited Dawsonville for the racetrack there, the Hall Of Fame & the Dawsonville Pool Room. And i want to tell you, EVERYONE there in Dawsonville was so NICE to me. It's Friday afternoon & i'm lost, asking directions, backing up traffic around Dawsonville & not one time did anyone blow their horn at me. Nice folks indeed.
I would like to know why Dan tore down the old original shop that was next to the museum. It was also George's truck shop before it was a race shop. It is just a concrete slab now. I am sure he had a good reason. Lot of history in that building.
My grandfather was from Wilkes CO said he'd see junior Johnson 11-12 years old ,driving a truck loaded with the sugar .😂 Helped junior hide a trunk and take him home, because feds were looking for the kid hauling sugar. Ended up himself hauling liquor for juniors father 😂
Great interview, always an Elliot fan back in I think 1994 I was working in and around Dawsonville went to there shop met Dan ,also the pool hall .there on the little circle in down town there was a young lady sitting on a bench and up above it was a sign that said home of Billl Elliott I ask her if she knew Bill her reply was no who is that, pretty crazy Rick you and Steve are great historians thank you guys so much
Another great show. The Elliots are favorite content.
Great interview!
Thanks For Uploading Rick And Steve
Great job as always Rick, I know it’s hard to get “Clyde” to do something like this, and you will never get Ernie to do it, but Dan is a gem.
Never met an Elliott I didn't like, awesome family, all of them!
Another one knocked out of the park. Great job Waid, Huston & associates!
Great stories from a great storyteller. Keep the interviews with Dan coming.

Rick why do you think there was a Federal Court house in Wilkesboro. It was there because of the moonshine in that area
