  • I was supposed to fish for about 5 hours but the weather had other plans. Decided to do some trolling as I made my way to shallow water and it paid off big time.

    Reel: Penn Spinfisher 5500

    Great video. Love those jacks. Headed down to Grayton Beach campground in a few days. I’ll try to leave you a few fish in the bay. Ha. I hope I can catch 10% of what I’ve seen you catch. Will probably spend my time in Hogtown Bayou and the docks/flats around Legion Park boat ramp.

      @@oafishing I should have mentioned that your videos have really helped me understand how to fish the area better. So I really appreciate the time you have taken to put the videos together and the knowledge that you have shared.

      @@rogerbarrios8614 I’m glad they have helped out. I just remember starting out and trying to figure things out. Figured why not share what I have learned over the years. I used to think how much the bay “sucked” and had no fish because I would catch nothing but catfish until i started figuring things out. Here we are 7 1/2 years later still learning but with more success.

    Love the videos, fixing to do a little kayak fishing in Navarre the end October. I ended finding your one of yours videos and really enjoy them. I do have a question for you because I see you use several types of Rods and reels on the different videos. I’m looking to add 2 fairly inexpensive rod and reel combos for saltwater fishing, since I ruined 2 freshwater combos last year. Would you recommend something like the Penn fierce 3 or Daiwa BG or something completely different, I’m thinking 4000 or 5000 series incase we get into kings or cobia on the trip. Thanks and keep up the awesome videos.

    • @oafishing
      @oafishing  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m glad you found the channel and enjoy the videos. I’ve had both and personally prefer the Daiwa BGs. A 4000 and 5000 will do just fine. Best thing to do is rinse everything with freshwater to get that salt off and it’ll last longer. Also re-lube the reels every once in a while. Hopefully that’s helpful. Thanks, I’ll keep at it!

    • @davisloggins1249
      @davisloggins1249 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@oafishing thanks for your input on that. I’ll be getting a couple Daiwa BG’s for my trip in October. Can’t wait to see your next video, maybe I’ll get some more ideas on how to catch fish down there.

    What are you using to attach your kayak flag to the kayak?

    • @oafishing
      @oafishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used the bungee holder. I unscrewed it from the kayak, sawed the hook off, drilled a hole through the center, put a bolt through the hole, and screwed it into my flag. At the bottom of the flag I JB welded a turnbuckle to screw into. Now I can easily remove it from my kayak. Zero holes were drilled into the kayak.
