  • www.eastonuniv... How to Ask for a Promotion. Asking for a promotion ranks high on the list of life’s most anxiety-inducing activities. Putting yourself out there to higher-ups can be intimidating, and competition can be fierce, especially in the current economic climate. And, of course, what if they say no?
But-it’s also one of the most important things you can do for your career. If you want to move forward in your company or field, promotions are part of the game, and they won’t just be handed to you-you have to work (and ask!) for them.
Ready to take that next step? Here’s what to know before the big conversation

Matt, I just want to express my heartfelt gratitude. Three months ago, I commented that I would give it a try, and thank God I did! Now, I'm thrilled to share that I’m a project manager! 😍

Sometimes we ourselves take away our value thinking we are not enough for a higher job position. It's good to see these kind of videos that, in addition to giving good advice on how to ask for a promotion, also remind us our true value and potential. Thanks for such a great video Matt

What if you already deserve a position that you are good enough for? I took a project outside my job description and company made a huge impact because of that. I was a regular school nurse but then I executed nursing program

I prepared a speech like the video suggested, my manager basically told me he needs more time to think about how he wants his team to be. and he did agree I am the most qualified candidate for promotion, our company has promotion cycle twice a year and we agree to revisit this topic after couple months and he should have the answer then.
Sounds like he is stalling me so I am searching for new job already :(

Thank you for your video. I was wondering how to phrase it if you have not heard there was an open position? I know there is opportunity to grow as I was told that.

Thanks Matt. Just sent to my daughter who is interviewing for a new position down in Florida. She was asking me what is the best way to ask for more $ in their offer.

Thanks. I'm nervous about asking, but I know I have to. Also, I'm glad you said don't say what do I need to do. I wasn't planning to anyways because it doesn't sound right, but I keep seeing it as advice out there.
