    Dacia did something rare in the car world … they delivered what a large customer base wants: good value for money, good design, very reliable, perfect for crappy roads CAR. It’s not an entertainment centre, it’s not a vodka or whiskey lounge, it’s not a formula 1 vehicle… it’s a normal car for normal people. There is nothing wrong with wanting more but there is definitely nothing wrong with wanting JUST A CAR. I know someone that has a GT3 and a Duster, when asked why he answers: I have 2 of the best cars money can buy; an absolute work of art and a practical vehicle in every aspect .

    I ordered my first Dacia in October 2022 and got it in February 2023.
    Until then I was driving old used cars and had problems after problems and spent so much money keeping my car on the road. I was searching for a good used car (max 2 years old) but the used car market was filled with overpriced cars. Thanks to my ADHD I spent a lot of time comparing cars, calculating how much I would spent per year or over the complete time I would finance a new car. And the best option was to order a brand new duster. Buying a 1 year old one didn’t make sense, would have cost me more. And since Dacias are cheap the lpg engine with the highest trim was the only option for me.
    One year later I broke my left foot and damaged my knee. So I was thinking about getting a new car again but with automatic. Compared some brands and the Dacia duster 3 hybrid 140 extreme with every option is a lot cheaper than any other car with that much space. Getting a essential or expression wasn’t an option even if they were offered with the hybrid engine, they didn’t offer more than my duster 2. so I mailed the dealership where I got my duster a month before they could order the new duster, got one of the first appointments and didn’t think twice about it.
    And after I got my first new Dacia many family members were surprised about how much you get for that price. Brand new duster 10k € cheaper than the used skoda they were looking at. A few months later my whole family replaced their old used cars with brand new Dacias (duster extreme and the higher spec Sandero)
    Dacia is the new Volkswagen. VW wanted to offer a car everyone can afford. Now they are at least 2 more expensive than a Dacia with similar features

The floaty suspension is excellent on crappy roads, and very comfortable on long journeys. We drove from Crete to Scotland a few times in it (5000 mile round trip) and it was excellent. These engines are not designed to fulfill emissions only today, but also future emission regulations in the next 10 years or so. This hybrid is limited at 155kmh and can only pull 750kg. It has also less NM than the Tce130 mild-hybrid but it has the automatic. I never expected myself to consider buying a manual again in 2024, but that's the direction im going now. I have a 2023 Duster with the automatic gearbox and 130bhp and I love it. I really don't need any more than that, even with the whole family in it and the boot loaded it's still plenty powerful to overtake etc. In about a year or so I will consider switching to this new Duster (automatic), if after having done a test drive it's not any worse than the current one I have.

    It so much harder to do a good affordable car than a premium one, so hats off to Dacia and its parent company. At some point Dacia are going to have take this to a pure EV but they probably do not need to just yet. Affordability is going to drive the take up of hybrids or pure EVs, so I regard what Dacia are doing as cutting edge.

    • @bjornvandenbremt1717
      @bjornvandenbremt1717 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@alexmukets6769 yes, this is common knowledge. To achieve the EU's ridiculous emission standards, car manufacterers choose smaller engines (less emissions).
      To give the car somewhat enough power, they add (bigger) turbo's and EGR's to the engine. And because of these turbo's and EGR's; these smaller engines often operate on high RPM's to actually function a bit properly (it doesn't help either that cars aren't getting lighter, on the contrary).
      This demands a bigger workload from the tiny engine; which causes more wear and tear to it, compared to a bigger atmospheric block.
      So yes, tiny engines are more unreliable and are more prone to problems or getting broken than the standard 4 cylinders we used to have (eg 1.5l dCi).

      And as a general rule, small engines must rev to produce power. This doesn't make them less reliable. Running them underreved though does stress the tiny engine quite a lot.

And the Dacia logo at the back, is removable? Not because it's Dacia but because I like to have branding like that removed on basically any car because it looks cleaner. All in all I'd certainly very strongly consider this car - it certainly appears to be the best value for money in this price category and I don't mind the hard plastics at all: easier to clean and no awful piano lack that should have been banned years ago.
