This Shockwave reminds me of Prime Shockwave who had a toy that was remolded into Prime Bludgeon with a new chest and head. It won’t happen , but I would like this Shockwave to also be remolded into Bludgeon.
No idea this existed but I think it has a high chance of happening. Prime Universe Bludgeon from this mold in the Legacy line would be perfect considering the love Hasbro has for repaints

Hasbro is really going extreme in the cost-cutting measure on Shockwave. Removing the bicep swivel is a bad idea, so I don't know what Hasbro were thinking when they decided to remove Shockwave's bicep swivel. Aside from that, he's looking sick
Between this and Megatron, the cost-cutting measures have become ridiculous by this point. I honestly don't think I'm getting either of these if this is the standard of figures going forward.
As prices for things are rising they felt it to be necessary to cut corners on more pricy figures like TF Generations. That shouldn’t excuse them to not give us a great toy though, I felt like they just wanted to make it as easily as possible.
I always find it funny that TF Fans want a Transformers movie, ENTIRELY SET ON CYBERTRON, then complain that the alien vehicle mode looks like nothing to them. Like, what'd you expect? Some sort of hovercraft from the jetsons?
It’s interesting to see that the transformation is pretty much a sized-up version of the Core class, but with a few extra steps in the treads/hands. Though they might’ve been useless in robot mode, the excess swivels are important for vehicle mode, but it does suck that there is no bicep swivel. Despite this, he’s a giant Voyager (at least for current transformers), so I can’t wait to add him to my collection.

But for some reason (I believe for questioning the corrupt senate's decisions) he was tortured and had an eye and arm removed. So he abandoned the autobot ways and basically turned off his emotions and became the cold and calculating decepticon that we know and love/hate

The theory for why Shockwave has the Autobot symbol on his arm is that it's a remnant from his Senator Shockwave days. Hopefully they put that onto the canon of the Rebooted universe because I always loved Shockwave's origin story in IDW with the corrupt Senate and him getting Emparta.
No, it was an animation error. The cybertron scene was hap-hazardous slapped together at the last moments reusing and modifying several already existing models, and the autobot symbol is a small detail that they accidentally left in

1:20 correction: Soundwave and Shockwave reused Optimus Prime's animation rig, they arent reskins. The only things carried over from optimus visually are general proportions in relation to the rig. the only way this could be an error would be if they somehow copy pasted an entire fully modeled segment onto shockwave's which they likely havent as that is unprecedented
That's actually not the case. A lot of the assets were directly reused. Shockwave has the same hips, feet, and other miscellaneous details as Optimus. He's even got the Optimus thighs underneath the big round thigh plates, which is why his thighs are so big
This is probably all I could have hoped this figure to be with a few exceptions being articulation and more silver paint. Will you show photos of all the bumblebee movie decepticons now they are completed (Minus skywarp, cybertron shatter and dropkick and concept designs)? Never expected an update Shockwave so soon after the Siege iteration. This one completely destroys that one in size, alt mode despite unfortunately not having a bicep swivel Scales really well with the Concept Megatron, especially for a voyager. Definitely excited to pick this guy up in the new year.
It looks solid, but it feels like it is missing something. The kingdom version had that armor that could be added. Maybe a third party will offer something for this Shockwave. Either way, good review.

I like Voyager Shockwave's alt mode because it really looks like he would use it to speed from destination to destination or retreat. In Prime, we saw that Shockwave was relatively fast in alt mode for a tank, and the same vibes transfer over here, something Megatron doesn't really have, as he looks slow and tanky in tank mode, most likely with the jet mode being preferred for speed.
This is so epic, seeing BB Shockwave finally getting the voyager that he deserves! I am for sure picking this up and getting BB (Concept) Megatron too!
The arm was an Optimus Prime reuse on the animation model, yet, it wasn't present on Optimus. The symbol is also notably scratched out on the animation model. This is probably an intentional design decision. Perhaps he was formerly an autobot, like in IDW?
I would like to thank you for doing a review on the leader class Optimus primal. It came in the box already transformed and I had no idea on how to turn it to robot mode.

This may be a hot take but I think the core class is better, it still looks great and I’ll be picking it up but buy and large the core is a better overall figure.
i'm gonna be honest, This shockwave is an improvement, but not the best one it takes the cores basis, cuts articulation out of biceps and kills the colours and has a boring tank, The core looked amazing and i'm keeping it this thing is getting away from size and more accurate looks, otherwise i'm not happy with this thing merry Christmas
The lack of a bicep swivel killed any chance I'd get this figure on my own. It looks great, it really does, but articulation is INCREDIBLY important, especially such a basic joint
Awesome video, Prime, even though Shockwave has no bicep rotation, he still looks fantastic overall! He just looks good standing there menacingly besides in a action pose, since he's always portrayed as a cold, calculating and logical mad scientist, he'll look great next to Soundwave, Starscream and the upcoming Megatron!
It's funny. When Shockwave was still a senator on Cybertron, Optimus Prime was his bodyguard, and now Shockwave has decided to fire his guard of his own free will.

The arm was an Optimus Prime reuse on the animation model, yet, it wasn't present on Optimus. The symbol is also notably scratched out on the animation model. This is probably an intentional design decision.
Perhaps he was formerly an autobot, like in IDW?

Maybe it's just to let you transform instead of for posing, not every joint is conversion.

The lack of bicep swivels _screams_ Armada level of articulation, and this is not the first time Hasbro did it in the 2020s. Remember Legacy Pointblank? That shiet was so trashy because of no bicep swivel syndrome. 2024 is already next week, why should they regress back to Armada level of articulation???

The iconic Shockwave poses are now unavailable without bicep swivels. There's no excuse whatsoever, since it's a collector's item, and people should have higher standards so that Hasbro wouldn't play games with our wallet. Your argument for their defense is invalid 🗿🗿🗿

The Autobot symbol is actually an animation error; Shockwave's model was created using parts of Optimus

i'm gonna be honest, This shockwave is an improvement, but not the best one
it takes the cores basis, cuts articulation out of biceps and kills the colours and has a boring tank, The core looked amazing and i'm keeping it

It looks great, it really does, but articulation is INCREDIBLY important, especially such a basic joint
Awesome video, Prime, even though Shockwave has no bicep rotation, he still looks fantastic overall! He just looks good standing there menacingly besides in a action pose, since he's always portrayed as a cold, calculating and logical mad scientist, he'll look great next to Soundwave, Starscream and the upcoming Megatron!
