Hey viewers, what do you think about the way the updated Verna looks, and its new turbo-petrol engine and the new features? Would you choose it over the other midsize sedans like the Vento, Rapid and the upcoming City? Comment below! #TeamAutocar
So let me understand this correctly. 1. We get less powerful engines than before 2. We have to pay the same or more for them 3. The aesthetic changes are not that different to the older version 4. The suspension still sucks. Great work Hyundai, job well done.
turbo petrol engines have less capacity wrt cc, but torque and horsepower are good, with 3 cyls fuel economy increases. yes cc is less, but performance should be good.

1. Turbo consumes a lot of fuel and will always have a lag and not to mention the occasional failure as well 2. In the low range the 3 cylinder won't deliver any power for such a heavy car 3. DCT in Indian traffic conditions will cause a lot of transmission issues. They should offer this car with standard torque converters This car makes sense only on the paper.
First autocar i love our reviews! Thank you @autocarindia for bringing Nikhil back! Hey Autocar team, compare mid range sedans available in market. At least the top three
Hyundai is my favourite company. That`s why I bought Elite i20 is 2018 and Verna and Creta are my really favourite cars. That`s the reason I bought small Creta(i20).
Hyundai making some great moves to attract customers by giving 3 engine for all cars . Engines for all types of buyers . Diesel for everyday users , petrol engine without turbo for occational and economic users and turbo petrol for enthusiast . At now except Eon, Santro, i20 all the all models have 3 engine options . With facelift i20 also will soon get turbo .
Those who all bought previous generation Verna is only Becasue of the exterior looks. And now this 5th generation Vernas grill is not as good as old one.
I got verna sx petrol automatic last month @13 lacs, i must say in silver colour , it just look amazing, when ever i go for drive everyone turn back to have a look. I m love'n it............ One suggestion go for sx variant not for sxo coz 95% features are same price difference 2 lacs.
The one BIG reason why I had to sell my Hyundai Verna was its ground clearance. With two healthy adults in front and even light weight adult/kids in the back, it used to scrap every speed breaker/hump and most potholes were confidence killers. Same is the case with Honda City. I would strongly urge buyers for Verna/City to first ensure you have speed breaker free roads and pot hole free roads for most places where you will be driving these cars. Don't fall for what the cars have to offer because you will repent on every speed breaker and pothole you maneuver until you have them.
I have a question, if u shift the automatic gearbox to manual mode does it shift gears automatically or u have to control it via paddle shifters or manual levers?
One of the best major facelift’s in recent times Paddle shifters in turbo , new dash layout and new touschscreen with connected tech , digital dials with clockwise and counterclockwise dials , new polarising front chunky grill better on the non turbo variants with chrome , Verna always delivers good performance and also does the 3 new engines , tyre pressure monitoring system and all disc breaks also improve the safety package , new diamond cut alloys are also good overall a good package and especially all variants are very feature packed adequately even the base variant
I wish the new Verna could have come with beige interiors to make the cabin feel roomy & less claustrophobic. I agree with Nikhil on the point that the rear seat space is low on space & Hyundai has not bothered to address that issue caused by the rising waistline. It robs off a sense of space which is needed in this segment. On performance front, it looks impressive but certainly lacks the finesse of its German & czech rivals. To sum up, it doesn't seem like a driver's car nor a chauffeur centric vehicle. Wish Hyundai could have opted either of the two approaches to cater to a specific audience.
Hyundai really needs to improve space on the inside of the Verna. The new i20 is probably comfier than this in the rear seats. The overall space is equal to the i20. Only thing special about this is the sedan profile.
