  • So following on from the description of the last video, This is my own setup and yeah, I do find it a bit more user friendly although the joystick might not be in as good a spot as it could be but I spent a few hours making the brackets for it last year and it's very fast to put in and take out of a tractor. That was one of the main things for me, that it was fast to take in and out. The screen is on the same frame as the joystick so you've never to worry about that falling off windows and shite like that. Great job. The first time I wrapped bales was with a 991BE hi-speed and I couldn't hack that, but the second time I wrapped bales they set me up with a ts115 sle and 991bjs and yeah.... the joystick was like half ziptied to the armrest and the monitor kept falling off the window and the joystick was just lying 45 degrees forward and up way too high and you had to press the buttons with your index finger because you couldn't reach it with your thumb and aw lordy it was just uncomfortable. And the sle box on the tractor used all the oil whenever you let up the clutch so the wrapper wouldn't lift the arm or spin the table while using the clutch, and the electrics needed to be plugged in and out instead of a switch and the spool valve was set up to stay with zip ties and yeah....it was just too much messing. If it could be wrong, it was pretty much.
So I says when I had my own wrapper I'd spend a long time getting all those small stupid things comfortable and easy to do and yeah...it's the world of a difference, much easier outfit to drive this one. Same with the other 7810 on the wrapper. The joystick was in the right spot and the tractor had a safety switch to switch off the box and the spool valve stays by itself and the ford clutch has nothing to do with hydraulics so it's just a good tractor for that job I think.
But anyway. That's about it. Same not really working yet still for anyone wondering. Clutch and brakes need to be bled up, no pickup hitch on it, no 540 1000 conversion done yet on it...to be honest I think it's going to be next year before it turns a wheel. Feck it anyway. Was looking forward to that all last winter and now I'm going to have to wait another winter to use it. Back to NZ again this year if the visa crowd let me in. In the process of doing the visa but I've used my working holiday visa so it's harder get a regular work visa now. I was on a special purpose visa the first year because of covid and that was a pain with paperwork too. Disaster. Anyway. Now that I'm thinking of wrappers I might go get the Claas and set the wrapper up properly on that. It's been working away with it but the joystick is a little high for my liking although still heaps easier than the ts115. Alright. I'll go do that. Video drawing bales tomorrow but it's a fairly boring video too. Most tractor driving videos usually are I suppose.
