  • Here's the Ford back again, this time it's on a 2000 gallon hi-spec tanker.
    As you can probably tell this tractor is not in fantastic cosmetic shape and it squeaks and rattles a lot but it's mechanically in very good shape. With the sunroof lifted off you get a good shot of noise alright but the video doesn't do it justice.
    There was two tankers that day, the hired in 2000 gallon and a neighbour's 1100 gallon. I was doing the further away fields with the bigger tank and the father was doing the nearer fields that I was drawing the silage out of in the last video.
    The Zetor can be seen square baling in an earlier video but I don't have any more footage of it to put up. There's one more video with the 7810 I have to put up yet but that's for a month's time.
    The next video will be of driving a real nice T7.200 on the way home from Loughrea Co.Galway! I live in kind of the west of Clare so that was a bit of a trek in a tractor. That will be posted on the 21st of November. I'll explain a bit more about that in the description of it's own video.

    Great video! And a very farmiliar sound. I've got myself a turbo'd 7810 as wel. Great straight to the point tractors, only the digital dash can be a pain in the ass sometimes..

    Is the cushion on the dash to help with noise reduction?

    • @WayneMescal
      @WayneMescal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Haha 😆🙈 na it's just handy to have a cushion in the cab to leave up on the toolbox if someone wants to sit in with me. If it's not being used for that I leave it up on the dash to keep stuff from sliding off like my case for the sunglasses as you can see in this video.

    Nice one mate 👍🏻 what do you think of the swivel head?

    • @WayneMescal
      @WayneMescal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks, swivel head is a great job for spreading, a lovely even spread. The only thing is it's more prone to blocking but it's not desperate bad for blocking either.

    Is a 7810 good for heavy work? We use a 6810 to draw silage and she pulls it no problem so jw if a 7810 is any better

    Have you had any of your tractors on the Dyno? If not chipped that 7810 is doing very well for herself Nice video

    • @WayneMescal
      @WayneMescal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, yeah was surprised myself how well it pulled it. Never had the chance to put them on the dyno unfortunately but it's something I always wanted to do. This 7810 has had a turbo from a tw15 fitted which gives it a little bit more power which helps but you can't chip or remap an older tractor like this one. It is a mechanical injection system and the way you can adjust power is with a max fuel adjustment screw on top of the pump. That's why everyone likes to joke about 13mm spanners and a screwdriver with these tractors because thats all you need to make them blow clouds of smoke 😆

    • @betherz6858
      @betherz6858 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WayneMescal Ah that makes sense have you or a previous owner had ago with the fuel pump or would you not be able to tell? It makes sense though a 7810 is something I've not really come across and I don't think I've really used a proper old school tractor

    • @WayneMescal
      @WayneMescal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@betherz6858 On most tractors there would be some sort of anti tamper lock on it which if damaged you can be sure someone was in there trying to adjust it. I'm not sure if these engines had something like that on them, all the ones I've seen were just open and free to be messed with. But ahmm, I wouldn't think this one hasn't been turned because before we fitted the turbo it seemed to pull like a standard one with a small puff of smoke under pressure. Or at at least if it was turned it was turned back to original before I bought it.

Used to go to work with my father at a beef farm but I wasn't old enough to do the bigger jobs I did have the opportunity to use older tractors like a John Deere 7710,6920s and Ford 8240 for lighter jobs like turning,Power Harrowing and bedding but I never had to chance to go silaging or ploughing with them as I wasn't old enough so I can't say I've really 'used' them as say the 7530 and the 6215

      I would say the two tractors are as good as each other...but you can get a 7810 for a good bit cheaper. If they were the same money to buy I would still have the 7810 though because I prefer the super Q cab.

      @@WayneMescal I live in Italy and for sure I can say ford is the best. Fiat have good power but low weight and some times they are durable, other times they are always in the workshop. The only problem of ford tractors (almost in italy) is that farmers putted in the radiators normal water without corrosion inibithors and after 4000-5000 the water went into the oil. But if you do the correct manteinance fords are undestructible instead of fiat

    • @WayneMescal
      @WayneMescal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@riccardo3212 yes, you are quite right. Ford tried to fix that problem on series 3 tractors and fitted a coolant filter with slow releasing corrosion inhibitor in it. I change my one every year although I think they are supposed to last 2 years.

    • @riccardo3212
      @riccardo3212 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@WayneMescal that’s really good. Also old fords could be durable with pure water, corrosion inibithors and changing the coolant every 3-4 years.
