Thanks Steven : I hadn't heard this before. Interesting that her voice is still quite strong on this track, perhaps not so on the A side. Connie Francis was unmatched for quality in her long career.
I like this one better than the A side too! I believe it was written by Dolly Parton. I have Connie also singing this in Portugese and Spanish...Unfortunately, the LP that was to follow this was never completed due to another reoccurrence of mental problems she was experiencing at the time.....she rebound and courageously again returned to the stage in the late 80's and performed many successful engagements uninterrupted until entering the semi retired mode just a few years ago. She is still making special appearances and doing guest spots....and works on a variety of projects outside the performing arena..see her website..
-You are right. Dolly did not write this. However, her cousin, Candy Parton did. That’s me. I just wish they would send me her royalty checks every now & then. 😃🎶
Also, I forgot to mention this four years ago in your post there was no album planned and it wasn’t released due to her mental issues as you put, Connie put out an album with poly tour records under the MGM label as a courtesy to her for a 25th anniversary album she cut three sides with them. Let’s make love tonight and there’s still a few good love songs left to me and one other song called, don’t tell me not to cry. She decides to release a few songs and let’s make love tonight. These releases are owned by Connie Francis on Concetta records and can be streamed on Amazon.
Its really a shame that after all these years Connie finds out she never was bi polar, she had PTSD. When she finally got on the right medication she was just fine.
Shes the legend! nice easy country pop song....the sound of the 80s.
MI IDOLA DE SIEMPRE CONNIE FRANCIS
