Hi Matt, I've been watching and enjoying your vids for over a year now. Yesterday I thought I heard you say you played a game in the Tri-Cities (Pasco, Kennewick, Richland, Wa). That got me thinking about when I was a kid in the early 70's. We had a triple A club in Kennewick called the Tri-City Padres that played at a great old ball park called the Sanders-Jacobs Field. Going to those games was the greatest thing ever. Us kids would practically kill each other to get a foul ball, which we would take to the concession stand to trade for a hamburger. At the time, I didn't realize the high level of baseball I was watching since I was only 10 or 11 years old. I saw Kurt Russell the actor play second base in a game there and just missed seeing Ozzie Smith (my favorite player ever) play his few months of triple A because for some inexplicable reason they moved our team 50 miles away to a town called Walla Walla. They say Kurt Russell was good enough to make the big leagues except he hurt his shoulder. Speaking of Kurt Russell, if anybody reading this comment is bored and looking for something to watch, there's a great documentary that was made by a couple of Kurt's nephews called 'The battered bastards of baseball'. It was on Netflix (don't know if it still is). It's about the Portland Mavericks, an independent minor league team started by Kurt Russell's dad. The players were mostly a bunch of irregular guys major league teams weren't interested in, but they competed very well against the major league farm teams. Definitely worth checking out. Finally, I've heard the Padres are thinking about moving a minor league team back to Pasco. Any truth to that? Thanks for bringing back the memories.
We ordered a half bat for my soon to be 13 yo son. He used it once with waffle balls and a tee. He cracked it. Sent it back and they sent a new one. He cracked that one, too, with just doing flips with waffle balls. I guess we will stick to the cricket bat that we bought a few years ago.
That looks awesome! Any way I can incorporate this with my softball team? maybe we can hit it with wiffles? Softballs seem to big and hard to use this with.
Hi Matt watching your videos here in the UK was just wondering did you play with any players from the UK,Australia,Netherlands etc in your time in the minor and major leagues? Keep up the good work.
Sound cool. Seems like is for older player. For kids perhaps the insider bat is better, IDK. The problem is that when swing hard, is hard for a kid to self correct. Kids would need a dad or coach with great eyes sight or a camera!! Older players can adjust base on sound n how it feels when when u hit. Be fun to try to hit it on the edge of the bat!!
so i don’t know if u have any other social media but i was looking through my cards and there are ten thousand plus of them and i just so happened to stumble onto ur rookie card
@@socmin030 I ve done it, it's fine, might be too wide for tee, but flip is fine, I have seen Indian people brought them to batting cage thought because they miss cricket so much but also wanted hit something fast
Greasyspleen it matters. If you swing wood you learn how to hold the bat to have the correct side make contact with palm up palm down. Young kids usually put the bat out in front of them with the label up and can’t understand why they keep hitting the ball on the wrong side of the bat. At least the flat bat will give them more insight. Learning path with it might be a stretch if they don’t yet grasp what they are doing in their swing. Like any tool, you can use it right or wrong and end up enforcing good habits or bad,
That is only true if your hands are in the exact position to line the flat part of the bat up with the ball. Any slight rotation of the bat in your hands and the hitting surface will either be up or down giving bad feedback to a problem that may not really exist when swinging a normal bat. Simple Dynamics.
What's up everyone, I am Trey Hannam (@tjhannam10). I am the creator of the half bats! These can be used by tennis balls, foam balls or whiffle balls, all can be used with their appropriate machines! On my Twitter, I have a video of LSU softball using them off the machine! Thank you everyone. Halfbat.com
Matt can you do a video where you review a bunch of different seed flavours
Glenn Jacobs Bacon salt is the best
Seeds are banned this year homie.
When you need to get your cuts in for the day and quarantine is still going on and your kids are making a being bad ass kids.

How do you line up your hand grip with the flats? Seems like that will have big influence on flushing ball?
Thank you Matt , May I have another ?
Ordered. Thanks, love the concept, Been working on bat path with my 10 yr old. makes good contact a lot but hits lots of ground balls.
Use w wiffles, light flights etc. Side and front toss work well
BABY CRICKET BATS 🤣🤣🤣
Wow they already have this video on their site
That looks awesome! Any way I can incorporate this with my softball team? maybe we can hit it with wiffles? Softballs seem to big and hard to use this with.
Tennis balls, wiffles and foam balls only.
Hey Matt, how do these flat bats compare to the CamWood bats as a training tool for kids in the 10/11 age range? I’d be interested in your thoughts
Do you recommend soft toss live pitching or hitting off the tee with these bats
Joseph Mercado probably not live pitching I think it might break since it’s wood
Waffle balls only.

If you already have an old wood bat and a mitre saw you can make your own.
I wish your videos were longer lol I like hearing your stories and how mlb works
Matt keep your videos coming there awesome!

The guy who invented these sent me one years ago. I wonder if this is his.
Was his name Trey Hannam?
Can you use this for real BP live pitching or just flips and Tee work?
jsal67 just flips and tee. I use wiffle and sponge balls
Thanks. I'm gonna grab one
Thank You!
Just buy a boat oar on amazon. Same thing and cheaper.
I don’t even play baseball yet here I am. Great content Matt
I’m dying over here, with no RTTS 20 updates! Yes, I’ve checked both twitch and TH-cam :(
Lifetime warranty?
Might be able to score some great goals with that...eh' ?
so i don’t know if u have any other social media but i was looking through my cards and there are ten thousand plus of them and i just so happened to stumble onto ur rookie card
So you use real baseballs or do they come with special ones
BlitzballCannon we use wiffle and sponge balls
a back up paddle, nah sounds like a good idea.
What do you think about Cricket?
Pretty sure they are for hazing, and adult entertainment.
Half Bat. Well at least the name is accurate.
I thought it was a fungo bat.
Do not use real baseball or softballs, bought mine just waiting on delivery. Trey is as awesome as Matt is
Thoughts are obviously used for ground balls 😂
Cricket trainers!
cricket bat would do the same thing
that's what I thought these were lol
Nope, as cricket bats are waaaaaay too heavy for baseball drills...
@@socmin030 I ve done it, it's fine, might be too wide for tee, but flip is fine, I have seen Indian people brought them to batting cage thought because they miss cricket so much but also wanted hit something fast
first???
Skeptical. Seems like the angle you hold the flat at would have much more effect than the path.
It helps create a really good palm up, palm down approach.
