    HI Jason love your work!! Do you find your beercan soft at f4? I'm not sure if I have a bad copy or if it's the norm. Thanks for all your efforts to keep us all up to date with your shoots and workshops. It's so great to see a guy who is a dedicated photographer share his work and technique rather than just pixel peepers shooting walls with different gear.

    I love your videos and work , I really love the Sony equipment and I am getting ready to go with Sony ,I have a Nikon d7100 and a slew of lenses ,I started with Sony way back with an A 200 ,missed it ever since I went Nikon ,you helped me make up the last little bit of considerations I had ,
    anyway , I noticed you leave all the lights on in the room IE fluorescent, tungsten , how do you adjust camera for all the lighting situations in this room ? obviously im no expert

    Loved this video and loved the shots. Please can you tell me where i can get the same octobox and what its called. And also is that the only lighting used? I see a spot with barn doors on what was that used for also did you use the square soft box at the rear. Thanks in advance :-)

    • @sjsphotog
      @sjsphotog 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stefan Graichen I believe the softbox on the model right side is for hair/rim lighting and the other small softbox pointed at the floor is to light up the black background so you can see it in the shots and eliminate the shadows so it looks like 1 seamless instead of black with wrinkles.

    I just got my first sony which is the original A7 an have had the worst experience with adaptive lenses. I’ve gotten rid of my Canon 5d mark 2 but wanted to keep all my old glass but have really focusing issues. My wife gifted me the beer can lens an I’m intrigued by it but also unsure if I would run into the same issue. Would you recommend the la-ea adapter or stick to native. Love your work by the way

    Шикарные снимки для какой-нибудь пекарни или кафе. Тортики, пирожные и все такое. Лучшие снимки, что видел в жизни по этой тематике. Мегасекс и мегакруть. Очень по-американски - хоть ковбойскую шляпу на модель одевай. Модели сделал прекрасный образ. Понравилось, как работает. Понравилось, как рассказывает. Четко и корректно. Подписался на чувака.

    I just switched from canon to the A7II and I'm thinking of at first going with the LEA4 and a Minolta lineup for budget reasons. What has been your experience? Any advice would help. Thanks.

    Can you describe the light you used beside the large 84 inch Octobox? what's that constant light shining on the model and another softbox behind her and their settings? also, if shooting at f4, why everything so dark around her?

    • @dedanny08
      @dedanny08 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MT Nguyen its just a studio light, these lights alway´s shine (you can do that in the settings), and its so dark because it are softboxes, the light of these things are not going so far but just a few meters. Also the lights are pointed at the model so the background gets no ligt from the lamps (softbox light doesn't carry that far)

    There are 2 types of Minolta 70-210mm f4 lens. There is the Minolta AF 70-210mm f4 & the Minolta Maxxum AF Zoom 70-210mm f4, which one is the one you show case in your video? They both run about the same price on ebay however picture quality could differ.....btw love your videos.

    • @16-bit-trip5
      @16-bit-trip5 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Island Exposures There is only one 70-210 f4 "Beercan" made by Minolta which is what Jason is using in this shoot. There are some cosmetic variants based off when the lens was made so some say Maxxum on the front and other don't (I think it is the older one that don't say Maxxum). Either way there is no performance difference between the two. Minolta did make a couple other 70-210 but they were either f/3.5-4.5 or f/4.5-5.6 lenses and not revered like the Beercan is.

    • @alfasud1972
      @alfasud1972 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@16-bit-trip5 I believe there are 3 different coatings used during production of the Minolta F4 70-210 "beercan", which might give some small difference in output, if i remember well there are beercans with slightly orange colored coating, greenish coating, and purple coating. And the early ones have a metal sun hood, the later ones plastic.

    Hi Jason,
    I've seen quiet a few of your video's and i love your work! I came across your video's a few weeks ago because i was trying to find out if a third party lens (let say Sigma or Tamron), was working fine in combination with the Sony Alpha7 while using a metabones converter. In one of your video's, you were mentioning that those Metabones adapters were not doing a good job because of a very slow AF. I see you now shooting with a Minolta Beercan 70-210 and LA-EA4 adapter on the Sony A7ii. Could you may be tell us if you ever tried this adapter and lens on the Alpha 7 (so not the mark ii) and how the AF behaved? . i believe you own both camera bodies and would be great if you could test it on the older version of Sony Alpha 7.
    Thanks in advance, and go on with your great work!

    • @willj476
      @willj476 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't own either of these bodies so I can't confirm this, but the af should be the same because the af is done in the adapter not in the camera (this is NOT true with the la-ea3 though)
