I like to put this on as background sound/video for when I’m casually doing something else. The new videos I watch with full attention, but the old ones are great for when I don’t want to be in complete silence. Absolutely love love the shift videos!
Blimey Tom you really do drive the same routes over and over. I must have watched enough of your shift videos that even I know these routes now. The knowledge by osmosis lol.
Although I've watched each of these shift videos separately multiple times, it's nice to get them in one video. Will be grand for getting to sleep 😀 Thanks Tom
Don’t feel pressured to re-issue old content. You’re an interesting guy, go do the content you want to do, we’ll still watch. Hopefully you’ll take this as constructive feedback, not a moan. 😊
Tom maybe following the new trend for longer format videos. A lot of recent advice is to do this. If the algorithm promotes it, and Tom’s viewers watch it, then a little more money and promotion for him. Worth a try. So best of luck for him. 👍
Lots of people missed various parts of it, or couldn’t find a particular day so I thought I’d put it all into one. Also… wanted to try long format as @soothesound states, lots of viewers said relaxing on TV was their preferred way of watching so this might be an interesting pivot 🙏🏻
A greatly enjoyable two and a half hours! Talking of Glaswegians, it is said that if you visit them in the afternoon they will say come in and have some tea, whereas in Edinburgh they will say come in you will have had your tea!
I used to have a newsagents in South East London (just past Lewisham so you wouldn't know it 😉) and could tell the Marlborough Light, Sovereign, Silk Cut and Benson smokers, before they even got through the door. Cheers, mate, great channel. I also used to drive around London, and the routes and location you mention brings back memories 👍
Listened to you on the Happy Hour Podcast, thought I would check you out. Not sure what makes me sit here watching this video but I cant turn it off haha. You sound like a top bloke.
best kind of video for watching, at 1hr, 2 mins 30secs missing the other half of the story where it cuts to black and carries into something else sadly
Fantastic. Loved that music at 26:00.............my type of music Plus the song at 40:00 and 42:00 ............. could go on and on, but I am a music lover, artist and collector, so.
Great video, as always, Tom! I thought you had said in a previous video that you weren’t going to be doing shift videos like this any longer. I guess you changed your mind?
HI Tom. I am new to your channel and so glad I found it as I love London but from leeds and you are a very good host or I would have ignored it... Just one thing>>> What is the iron lung... Please tell me.
HIHI Tom, love the videos! Please correct me if I'm wrong...but if you're travelling East on Upper Thames Street and want to go onto Southwark Bridge, could you not go past Southwark Bridge and filter immediate right to turn onto Bell Wharf Lane (where the City's refuse lorries go as well as the Little Ship Club and the NCP Garage is) then do a U Turn, which is perfectly legal there and then turn left heading West on Upper Thames Street and immediately turn left onto Southwark Bridge itself?
If Oxford Street becomes pedestrianized what will you do? Just curious do you ever get clients who ask for shopping area and have you pick them up after a certain time to continue home or elsewhere? I didn't think I would sit all the way through but I did and learnt a few things thanks Tom :)
I guess if you're in Central London, the majority of trips are contained mostly in Central area and fairly predictable or variations of familiar routes etc. Ho often do you get further out to edge of London boroughs and are these more testing to your geographical knowledge / memory of road names etc?
Hi tom, I'm 35 and thinking about starting the knowledge to pursue this career. Is it still worth starting the knowledge in 2024? I hear a lot of people saying the taxi game is dying due to other means of transport. Is there still good money to be made ? Cheers
I’ll be honest your taxi shifts were really relaxing/entertaining… I unsubscribed because of that reason. Hopefully, you can do a vid every now and then

14:36 blooming cyclists....cross a busy road by not using the pedestrian crossing. The other one gunning down the road in a busy area where hazards such as pedestrians can pop out of no where
Unfortunately Tom the more you do the less you seem to get. Lost track of how many times I’ve thought “I’ve really nailed that journey” to watch tragically as my customer presses the x on the machine when it says to tip 🤣🤣 their prerogative I suppose but it would be nice to be rewarded for extra effort but in my experience as you say it’s quite the opposite
At 3 minutes. Whys should you have to give the job to a taxi on the rank. The customer is not on the rank. Its on your side of the road. Thats your job surely
Favourite style of video. Ive seen so many driving in london videos, yet every video there are streets ive never seen before.

Absolutely brilliant. There's something in my brain that gets tickled when someone lists names of streets. I love history and geography
Tom: I’m never doing shift videos again
Also Tom: drops a full week of shifts for us 😅😅
Well, he just made one video of the 5 shift videos he posted two years ago. (I needed one or two deja-vus to recognize) 😂
Took me until the wheelchair user in Westminster to realise!
Blimey Tom you really do drive the same routes over and over. I must have watched enough of your shift videos that even I know these routes now. The knowledge by osmosis lol.
When I’ve got a 3 hour flight coming up and I’m looking for a video to download to watch… thank you Tom! Perfect timing
Although I've watched each of these shift videos separately multiple times, it's nice to get them in one video. Will be grand for getting to sleep 😀
Thanks Tom
Agreed. 😂😂😂 same here.

Love the combination of snippets of history and journeying around.

Woooow 😂
-Tom
I got super excited at the end of Wednesdays section. You went past my house 🎉
I’ve watched so many of Toms videos, I no longer ‘turn’ into streets, I simply ‘shuffle’ or ‘wiggle’.
Love this kind of content. I always revisit the shift videos multiple times! Hoping for more Tom! love ya son!
Love journeying around London with you find it really relaxing
Appreciate all you do and your expertise, great to see your thinking for each route
That bike crash. Damn
Always got to smile when I'm walking over Albert Bridge . Many cars have hit their mirrors on that width restriction.
As a taxi driver I love watching these videos and having it on in the background
Loved this montage. It felt like I was eating the video.
2.5 hours - wow! I'll be watching this video in shifts over the week! Thank you, Tom, for this marathon editing effort!
A greatly enjoyable two and a half hours! Talking of Glaswegians, it is said that if you visit them in the afternoon they will say come in and have some tea, whereas in Edinburgh they will say come in you will have had your tea!
Came over from the Happy Hour Podcast and what a gem they’ve come across. Been obsessed with your vids since ✌️🫡
really appreciate this new video concept Tom, great work
51:48 - Benihana means "red flower" in Japanese. It's a Teppanyaki restaurant, which means "metal plate fry".
This is great I will watch this for 5 nights at 1 shift at a time
Your content is awesome man! Hello from Denver Colorado haha

my evening is sorted!!!
Love your happy hour episode hope you’re well
This must be very old since at 1:52 you can see the 521 bus route, which was discontinued in April 2023
Yes… this a montage of old shift videos from 2022
I love these vids. Thank you for doing another one for us
Great choice of Podcast... Rob Moore is great!
1:34:20 - Isn't that a portrait of Ross Kemp with Ethel's dog WIlly? ;)
This video is going to last me loads of lunch breaks 🤣
great video i hope you do it again sometime soon thanks tom
The St P renaissance main entrance was in fact the old St P taxi rank, you exited onto Midland Rd via a twisty ramp.
Love this video format!
Listened to you on the Happy Hour Podcast, thought I would check you out. Not sure what makes me sit here watching this video but I cant turn it off haha. You sound like a top bloke.
2 and half hours. Blimey....
Good stuff, binching this.
Damm brooo just over a 2hr shift video niceeeee
Edited.... love theys long format shift videos Tom
Keep looking out for you at the Liverpool Street taxi rank
During my cabbie career, it was verboten for Private Hire to use any rank.Thats the whole point as you know, appointment only.
best kind of video for watching, at 1hr, 2 mins 30secs missing the other half of the story where it cuts to black and carries into something else sadly
Took me a couple days but watched it all
Thanks for this
Fantastic.
Loved that music at 26:00.............my type of music
Plus the song at 40:00 and 42:00 ............. could go on and on, but I am a music lover, artist and collector, so.
Thank you for the background noise Thomas
I heard Thursday is the new Friday 👍
Great video, as always, Tom! I thought you had said in a previous video that you weren’t going to be doing shift videos like this any longer. I guess you changed your mind?
HI Tom. I am new to your channel and so glad I found it as I love London but from leeds and you are a very good host or I would have ignored it... Just one thing>>> What is the iron lung... Please tell me.
Great video tom, what time did you finish that shift on the Friday?
This will be your most watched video by a mile.

How do you 5 days in 1 week, it's so stressful working now ..
Senate House, isn’t that where Bertie Wooster lived in the TV series?
Do you give totals earned at the end?
I’ve seen all this before
Sorry Tom,love your vids but can't deal with the background music.Im guessing AI adds it later?
You've probably been asked this a million times before, but I'm new here; How often do you get asked for 221 B Baker Street?
Hi tom, I'm 35 and thinking about starting the knowledge to pursue this career.

but you said you weren't going to do any more shift videos...
気候変動と様々な民族の兼ね合いもあって接客サービス業のリスクマネジメントも必要ですね、逆性石けんなどをネット通販されてるいるとおもいます、車内の清掃も大変ですね😂😂😂
is it actually worth becoming a cab driver in London ? money wise
london is just a mini pakistan. You will probably be the victim of an acid attack on your first shift
You have seriously got to let the runs go on longer. The cuts are too short.
why did you say fuel for your e taxi at 32:00
Do taxi drivers have to pay the congestion charge
Nope.
@ thanks for the info
Tom, what is the problem with someone wanting the air con on max if that's what they want. Why does it seem to bother you mate.
love this shift video many more of these to come hopefully
Big
big?

Bosh
Just to add 14:40....I'M SICK OF OUTLAW CYCLISTS IN LONDON. Honestly! Something needs to change!
That was a deliveroo rider, much more lawless
That’s very old video
Do you not think he knows that? He has explained why he’s done it….
The only guy (me ) who watched whole video without skipping a second ,
First ❤
Too long and a repeat - wtf !!
