    Great video! I have had this sameHitachi blower for several years and never a problem. Now it will just not crank/start. After pulling pull rope several times it starts spitting gas out the exhaust. Can you offer any suggestions on what is the problem and the fix. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

    Awesome video. I have this same blower. I’m thinking of buying a cordless electric battery blower but wanna keep this one to try and fix it myself. After years of owning this hitachi blower, it takes a while to start it, and when it does start after a couple minutes it starts dying down. There’s fuel in the primer ball, so You think the carburetor is finally shot?

      Yep carb. Get a new one it will be a new machine. First make sure the gas is new bought today. These dont like 3 week old gas.

    My Hitachi just stopped blowing as if it rn out of gas. Not the case, had plenty of fuel. Would you recommend replacing the carb using the tune up kit?

    • @smallengineguys

      first check spark also take off muffler and look at piston. if the piston is shiny with no lines and you have spark then yes get this kit and do what i showed you

    Great video! I’m having an issue with my blower - same one as this hitachi. I can get it started and running without issue, but when I let go of the throttle, it stalls right away. I took it apart, cleaned the carb, and got it running again, but it still stalls when I let go of the throttle and won’t idle. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks!

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ok this is an idle air fuel mixture adjustment. unfortunatly i havent had luck with this style carb. the very top of the carb that turns is the throttle. in the center is a tiny hole. there is an adjustment screw in that hole. usualy a flathead sometimes other tools that def wont work. it may have a black plastic plug on it. if it has a plug heat the tip of a flathead screwdriver that will fit in the hole red hot with a torch. insert and press and hold firmly without moving much . hold for a min and spray carb cleaner to cool it of. turn counter clockwise to break plug free then slowly while turning pull screwdriver out. sometimes just doing this turns screw enough for idle. if not reinsert screwdiver you can see screw now and try turning counter clockwise one turn at a time. if this doesnt work you need a new carb. they are not to exspensive i have one listed in my comments. just click the link.

      If it runs wide open but wont idle, it is getting too much fuel. Common problem on this WYC carb. Time for a rebuild ($12.00/OEM kit), new OEM carb, or aftermarket (Chinese) carb. I prefer to rebuild this simple carb. Just get the exploded parts picture so you use ALL the gaskets, and in the proper place. See more info posted above.

    Any idea why when I give it throttle (1-100) it doesn't reach max Rpm but when I go half throttle it reaches max rpm then go then last 50 (full throttle on the trigger) it stays at Max rpm? Thanks

      The same model. I have 2 holes in my tank 2 grommets. The kit has a small hole for the throttle that I needed to drill out and didn’t come w the brass cradle the throttle cable sits in. Also the spark plug that came with it didn’t work.

      @@steadyeddie7453 dont be fooled everything is made in china. Unless you have pre 1970s things its all got chinese something in it. The trick is finding the good chinese manufacturers these days.

    • @steadyeddie7453
      @steadyeddie7453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@smallengineguys I wouldn't say that everything is made in China. A good deal of auto parts are made in Mexico, other consumer goods made in Thailand, Indo, Germany, Japan and Taiwan. When an OEM Walbro carb cost about 60 dollars, and your kit with carb, hoses, spark plug goes for 15 dollars, there is no way the quality comes even close. Its the reason why the auto parts store Trak Auto folded. They sold mostly Chinese junk. Too many comebacks and complaints. Now, can the Chinese make a decent product? Sure, but not too often. If they make and sell 10,000 carbs and 1,000 are defective, they still make money. And where do you "find a good chinese manufacturer" when US distributors are buying from whichever chinese sweatshop will make it the cheapest. I'll most always spend more $$ and get a quality part than buy a chinese counterfeit. I go out of my way to avoid Made in China. They're killing our economy, not to mention the cadmium, lead, formaldehyde, etc in the products they get caught selling us. OK, done preaching. Cheers.

      @@steadyeddie7453 walbro is also made in china. The plastic and metal used in mexico comes from china. And i use the cheap kits all the time. Around 10 a day 6 days a week. They work and i get no complaints. Again knowing what brand to use helps.
