This is a pop-pop steam engine for use on model boats. Made with aluminum sheets, beer can, silicone rubber, copper tubes, bolts and nuts. It's quite difficult to make but it works perfectly.
I haven't provided all the exact measurements because there's just not one correct way to make this type of engine. Can be made in different sizes and shapes

In childhood I use to play with the toy ship made by same process but it was small engine shown in the video. 👍 The soldered small aluminium diaphragm was 1-2 cm as I recap now.

Tengo un recuerdo imborrable de mi niñez, cuando mi querida madre me compro una barca de hojalata que funcionaba con un sistema muy parecido tenía 6 años recuerdo que llenábamos la bañadera y lo hacíamos funcionar allí, para mí era algo mágico, estoy hablando de 60años atrás que linda niñez tuve porque tuve una madre cariñosa y que sobre todo me creo la curiosidad por todo lo que fuera mecánico algo raro en una mujer, pero mi madre no era cualquier mujer era una mujer luchadora trabajadora y muy inteligente, te extraño mamá y que suerte e tenido de que fueras mi madre.

Sr. muy bueno el trabajo, hay que tener en cuenta que para generar vapor la temperatura del agua dentro de la caldera tiene que superar la presión atmosférica que a nivel del mar es de 100 grados centígrados, creo que teniendo los tornillos con las tuercas, la arandela de aluminio más los caños de cobre estos son elementos que disipan el calor, no logrando calentar el agua y generando el vapor suficiente para hacer el trabajo. saludos desde Batán Argentina!

Away back in the 1950s, I had a little metal boat with an engine like this that was powered by a camphor tablet. I played with it in my bath.

Estou enganado , mas me parece que o funcionamento dele é estilo aqueles motores stirlings , ou seja ele fica pulsando e agua fica constante na caldeira isto ?

Do I understand right when the water discharges completely due to the heating process the pop-pop engine needs to be refilled every time? How much time or pops it lasts under a candle flame? And, can we add a water reservoire atop the engine for addditional water supply, possible with a check valve?

Great job, but I am afraid that aluminum with copper tubing is not the most corrosion resistant combination, especially in contact with water.

Antes de tudo parabéns pela " engenharia". Não seria mais fácil usar folha de Flandres e solda de estanho do que alumínio, como alguém já demonstrou em um outro video? Será que o silicone usado nos tubos de cobre vai suportar a temperatura do fogo da lamparina?

This is 1967 technique. I have played with a miniature steam boat moving with same piece of steam mechanism.

I'm afraid there is a big mistake, it is the steam that causes the push, not the hot water. The output has to be inverted. What has to come out of the exhaust is steam, not hot water
You are wrong.
Look again at the end of the tubes in the water. You will see no bubbles. That means water is escaping not steam as you stated.
Did you used the water at this Try?.
So... could you put out-only valves in the original pipes, then add a pipe with an in-only valve for input. That would make it more efficient eh.

Muito legal esse vídeo da construção do motor. Tenho guardada comigo uma lanchinha da Estrela que eu ganhei quando menino. Tenho 68 anos hoje e quando lembro das brincadeiras com ela fico muito contente. Não sei se ainda funciona.

WHY DO WE NEED 2 TUBES? WOULD IT WORK WITH ONLY ONE?
Because the engine works better without air trapped inside the boiler, and two pipes make it easier to take the air out: just pouring water through one and waiting until water comes out the other tube

Only way to scale these up is to have multiple engines.
@@allbunsglazing not exactly, you don’t need the popping mechanism for this type of engine so you’d be able to use a coil of tubing to create the boiler rather than a small chamber like this one. The coil method would make things much more easily scalable, it would be silent, it would be simpler, and finally it would be easier to fill fully without trapped air.
