I really enjoyed your video! Thanks for taking me along with you (and I didn't even have to peddle). Your enthusiasm and passion for fishing shine through brightly. It is refreshing. Truly. Thank you. Let me make some suggestions: 1. Read directions on the package. (It shows how to switch sides of crank, etc.). 2. Set drag before 1st cast, so line slips when pulled, then line and rod can NOT break and fish will tire out. Leave it alone while playing a fish. Set right, a submarine can't break it, if left alone. (You'll land many more fish). 3. Don't crank fish toward you. It only twists up your line, badly, when it's slipping. It doesn't bring the fish closer. 4. Use a pumping action, reeling the rod tip down toward the fish, (stop reeling), then pull the fish toward you gently without reeling. When rod tip is back up, reel it down toward the fish again. It's called "pumping", and is very effective. 5. Always keep your rod bent (90° angel from the line). This acts as a shock absorber to the fish and makes him work hard, tiring him out. Also makes it hard to throw the hook. Finesse the fish in. I'm 70 and have lived and fished very successfully in 10 states, from Alaska to California, Michigan to Florida where I live (and Canada). Keep making videos, and keep having adventures. It makes life rich and fulfilling. Embrace it.
I have been using spincast reels since I was a kid and yes, they can handle the big ones; just stay away from the very cheap ones. I own two of the older Omega pro reels and three Zebco Bullets. I had used spincast reels for so long that I found casting a spinning reel to be a bit awkward. A bait casting reel, takes a bit of practice to use, but becomes easy once you have it set up properly. Happy Fishing!!!
I personally own a spin cast, spin reel and bait cast. My opinion doesn't matter what you use or how you do it. If you are catching fish and loving life. You do you. People making fun of others for what they use and saying you aren't serious about the sport because you are using a spin cast. I've caught a lot of very impressive fish on an old zebco 202. And I've seen pros use the old zebco 33. Keep reeling them in and enjoy it!
"one thing that stays the same is that nothing stays the same" wise words brother! ones things for certain that stays the same is your great uploads. thanks for the fun video!
the Zebco Reel can be changed from right to left hand retrieve. remove the screw on cap from the left side of the reel opposite where the center of the handle enters the reel. the handle should slide out and be inserted on the left side with the retaining screw cap on the right side. I own a zebco 606 reel from the late 1960's (all metal case). Keep them clean, free of sand, and spool new line when it begins to get twisted. Use a 6ft+ Medium action rod for bass. although a 7+ft medium light fast action rod would let you throw a 1/8 of a long way on 6lb trilene line. My wife and I use Spinning and Spincast reels normally, the only drawback is the Braided line does not work well, and can cut groves in the line retrieve pin. We have caught several nice bass on them. We use mostly the more expensive zebco 33 reels, and get one or 2 new reels every year or 2. They work well with 6 - 10lb Line. I think Zebco uses CAJUN brand line.
I own all three types of reels. Spincast, spinning, and bait cast. My opinion, doesn't matter what you use or how you do it. If you are catching fish and enjoying life. Just do you. Making fun of someone for what the use for fishing, or saying you aren't serious about fishing just because you use a spincast, or aren't using a 500 dollar set up, has no effect on the fish you catch. Ive seen pro use a zebco 33 before. Ive caught a lot of impressive fish on an old zebco 202 in my life. Nevermind what other people think. You be you and keep reeling them in and enjoy it 😃
I just ordered a ZEBCO 888. It is capable of bringing a catfish that is over 4o pounds. Buy a O'L WHISKERS CATFISH ROD and you'll be able to bring in a fish of 40 pounds or more. The Zebco 808 is also a strong and capable reel. Use it on the O'L WHISKERS rod also and you'll be able to bring in some nice heavy fish.
I've got nerve damage so for me spincasters are legit. In particular I love the KastKing Brutus spincast reel. What's so good about it? It's a pretty smooth reel and it can be spooled up with braid, even. Most spincast can't, though it looks like your Omega can have braid too. It's like $35, goes on sale often, and it's a workhorse.
You can hold the button the whole time while you're casting, it's much easier than trying to push it while you're in casting motion lol. Would love to see another video of you switching the retrieve to left hand on this reel
I can fish with them, but I’m always pro-spinning reel because that’s what I’m used to. My roomie generally always uses spincast reels for freshwater fishing, especially for bigger catfish.
I loved it! I fish in terrible brush, weeds and low hanging trees! I was getting birds nest about every 3rd cats! I have been fishing an Omega pro and a zebco delta! NO MORE BIRDS NEST! I love them but if I fished clean areas would love using my bait caster
I am 100% one of those “why are you in Florida so much” questions on a few of the videos. I was going crazy thinking I missed some like “I’m moving to Florida” video or something 😂
I have MULTIPLE high dollar spinning and baitcaster combos, but I had a really nice small Zebco spincast combo that I used for trout and I miss it. This video has me wanting to get a new, but nice spincast combo.
Hi Brock. i love my omega z20 on the Dobyns 7' 701 C BFS Ultra finesse rod. Just mount a spin cast reel. Great for trout Ultra light rig. d2 jigs , Zig Jigs , spinners.
Bro, we love your videos we love this we love first day fishing first state fishing. Sorry I spell date I spelled that wrong whatever I did it incorrectly, but V love your videos, and I hope U can make more videos like this. V hope your boot comes off and we wish you the best.❤
Yes u can change it to a left hand i got the zebco bullet higher gear ration love it they got the size 20 on both so much fun no birdnest to waste time 😅
My girl only uses spin cast I bought her the bullet and she has loved it. It's almost the same as the omega. It's like 10 bucks more but it's twice as fast. It's twenty nine inches of retrieve a turn but I think the button just broke yesterday While we were fishing
I was surprised to learn that a good amount of Surf fisherman actually prefer higher-end spin cast reels over spinning or bait casters because they cast a mile and give you more control over the line while you cast.
@@ginichimaru001 you’re delusional if you think more pros use spincast over baitcasters. Baitcasters are by far the most popular system used by people to fish.

They so easy to us. You take off the front part and put line on it. I grew using them. But now I us spinning and baitcaster. But I still have some spin cast rods still.
I get the inside feeling that there will be a vid 2 hours before you post it and I open TH-cam right on time somehow😂! That’s what happens after being a sub for many years😂!
I use spinning reels but my wife got me a 8ft catfish rod for Christmas but it's a casting rod I think ima just get a zebco 888. Or is there a better spincast? Don't really Wana get a bait caster 😅
888 is made for the big catfish and other big fish right out of the box with it pre spooled with a 25 lb line..... 888 is a solid big fish reel .... The Omega pro is rated for 30lb braided line but pre spooled with 10lb out of the box .and but it is a step up in terms of build quality... 888 is nicely built but the Omega Pro , takes it to that next level. 888 prem feel. Omega PRO VERY Premium feel
What are your thoughts on push button reels??🤔🎣 I still can't believe we caught that fish 😂
Leave them for the kids and old timers 👍🏻
There ok
I think they are fine for everyone. I also caught a 5 pounder on mine!
The most expensive push button reel is the zebco bullet
I hooked a 38 to 44 inch trout it was a bull trout and it cracked two rods
You don’t have to push the button when you’re ready to cast…you hold the button until you’re ready to let line out.

Spin casts are great for putting a cast exactly where you want it, especially under docks and such.
So are baitcasters…
not really, but i do prefer spinning reels

Get a Zebco 33 and throw it on a 6'6" or 7' Medium rod and it's an extremely versatile setup
I actually perfer Spincasters over baitcasters, and spinning reels. Nice job man!
It's been a while since I've seen you do a bass video and yes you were due for a monster bass , good stuff my G 💯🔥🎣🤙🎥

😮that was a big boy 🎣nice Catch
I've had good luck with ZEBCO rods & reels. I currently have a 33, 202 and 404.
"Skeeters"😂😂😂. Sounds like something i would say lol
Dude!! those things are totally interchangeable!!!!! couldn't watch anymore.

The “I’m editing this rn” part is so funny. Lol good vid
I love how I was immediately going to comment that you can swap the handle over and you cut me off to say you know 🤣
You would definitely enjoy disc golf. Highly recommended.
i’m glad to say the first baitcastwr video was when i started watching
I do miss seeing you in Delaware, opening of fishing and you at a creek with a gang of dudes.
Goat. Just sat down to eat and get this fine entertainment.
Disc golf is really fun definitely recommend getting into it
That was awesome nice Bass on the spin cast firststatefishing coming in 🔥
The omegas are great reel’s and last a long time
I love your videos man I wish I could go out fishing but I have a torn acl at the age of 16 and it sucks so watching your fishing videos help a lot 😊

Hello from Northern Ireland have you ever tried the Savage gear mini sandeel lure kits the might be uk thing but the smoke everything they're my go to
Back and forth when reviving fish btw 😂
Me and my family been using mostly spincast our whole lives . It's my go-to with older models some newer are not as sturdy as they used to be
From my experiences, that type of weather is ideal for them biggens! You had everything goin! Good weather good bait good reel lol
I got your reference, it was hilarious dont worry😂😂
I love disc golf, next time you’re in Jacksonville I would be down to play I have plenty of extra discs and there’s some good courses here
For people who use weightless wacky rigs, after seeing the line jump, do you hook it straight away?
first state back at it again 🔥
Thanks for these great videos I really enjoy them!
Push the button and then let it go when you're ready to cast. Do you have anymore videos of you using this reel? I'd like to see some more.
Haha dude caught a stud on a push button! Well done!

Nice bucketmouth Mike!! Congrats!!
stress test successfully passed I did not know this type of reel but I am completely satisfied with the result
Love it ❤️
My dad has been out here killing it on his little spin caster zebco. Hadn’t fished in 30 years and now (pun intended) he’s hooked again
My first rod was a zebco 33 and it is still one of my favorite rods 😤
"This one looks like it's on house arrest" 😂😂
best fishing content everrrr

12:45 he saw it jump and nearly had a heart attack 😂

“They cast a mile and give you control over your cast”. I highly doubt a spin caster has more control over a bait caster.
I thought the baitcasters were supposed to cast a mile and give good control of line?
Can't imagine there's any line control with a closed face reel.
@@austin27049Spincast is easier to maintenence which is another reason the pros dig them.
@@ginichimaru001 you’re delusional if you think more pros use spincast over baitcasters. Baitcasters are by far the most popular system used by people to fish.

Bass strike the worm when its falling from you reeling. Imitating a dying worm
I know how you feel with the boot now bro, I have fallen victim to the boot aswell 😭
this is a very good device my brother, in my country the price is very expensive, when are you trying to fish to my city my brother ??..
I like how you see in the background just a plane landing

Come down to Southern California and catch some sea bass 👀👀
Pokemon and fishing are my favorites
"I would get wet for that fish" got me dead lol
If thin ice was used to describe how a fish is hooked haha literally by the skin of its teeth. Good stuff 👍
the way you hold your rod is crazy lol
What are the rod specifications??
Never dissapoints
Just a heads up Florida weather is the worst in the summer time… which is weird because summer is when it actually rains the most

Video starts at 7:00
I still use them from time to time and I'm 51 years old not bad reels
Lets goooooooii 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Spinning reels 4 life bait casters are inferior. Let's argue😁 I use penn conflict 2 in fresh water for bass bit I'll always have time for a zebco egg
Hey FirstState, do you happen to have any merchandise? 🤔
Can we see more catfish vids???
I learned how to fish on an old zebco 33
My grandpa used to catch everything from bluegill to muskie on a Zebco 808
The zebco bullet is the most expensive spin cast reel, but I think the omega is the second most
Great content
I was taught never to take your hand off the reel handel. Good way to lose line tension and your fish
Did I see you at the marina at Lake Powell?
you are brave for holding your hand that close to the water in florida lmao
