I love that the 'don't' side isn't a ridiculous exaggeration like we usually see in similar video's, where the creators make the 'don't' side just look absolutely hideous on purpose. Whilst in this video both sides look realistic and good, even though the 'do' side looks more flattering. This truly helped to see the realistic difference between both sides!

Omg thank you for noticing that! When we were filming this video my husband had pointed out that these weren’t huge differences and I had to remind him that that’s really the point, they are subtle but definitely worth noting! Thank you so much for watching this video and so happy you found this helpful!!

But I am sooooo grateful for your videos. I absolutely love your technique, and the way you explain the whys behind those techniques. After watching you beat your beautiful cheeks with allllll the blushes, I am now the owner of 9 of the ones you mentioned 🤣🤣🤣….I thought I couldn’t wear blush because I have rosacea and hated that I was always soooo red. But you, my darling have showed me different. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Forever grateful for your knowledge and skills!!! ❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I think the right side..well your left looks more youthful as youths have fuller cheeks. Though it definitely makes the eye come down vs the uplifted way. Then age and face structure come into play.

I'm 37 years old, when I was in my 20s I would wear makeup so confidently and feel good about myself. Now that I'm in my late 30s I feel like a full face of makeup makes me look older, it's definitely my fault for not trying new techniques with my makeup. Thank you for these tips! I'm 63. I've never been one for much make-up. Now I'm back to almost no make-up. Mascara and a little cream blush and I'm done. I don't buy into the forever young culture of today, so perhaps that's why I am comfortable doing that today. Less is often no only more, but better for your skin.

I’ve found Chanel’s newer foundation les beiges water fresh foundation to be amazing. It’s basically beads of foundation in a skin care serum. Nikki, would you do a video on makeup minimalism? I’m 28, I love my looks and I don’t wear makeup; sometimes I feel like I’d like to get into it but the sheer amount of brushes and tools feels overwhelming, especially to clean (and the thought of a dirty brush or sponge makes me recoil!). For those of us who are newbies and interested in dabbling in makeup, would you do a video on the absolute minimum bare essentials to start off with? And include a version of it for those of us who don’t want to wear foundation? I know that’s a lot 🙈

I do agree with you on the -foundation-with-the-fingers approach. Its somewhat cringey because of the wasted product on the hands.
What I do is wake up earlier so that my makeup application for the day is a relaxing routine that coincides with my morning coffee.
I blend in with a brush or other tool such as a blender.
Inasmuch as setting powder, the only place I apply is under my eyes so my mascara doesn’t smear. I apply super lightly with a fan brush.

    These are all fantastic tips!
1- Every time I've tried applying my foundation with my fingers I looked horrible, my skin texture doesn't like me applying it with my fingers
2- I've never done the triangle concealer thing everyone was doing a bunch of years ago, but I did swipe a line across my dark circles. Then I learned about doing a couple of dots in the inner part of the eye and a little dot in the outer part and blend the outer dot outwards and up. It opens up my eyes and lifts my face in a great way. It also cleans up eyeshadow so I no longer need to use tape to create the shape that doesn't down my eyes, since I have hooded slightly downturned eyes, blending eyeshadow can make my eyes sad if I don't clean up the edges.
3- I used to pack my face and under eyes with powder, even using a beauty blender or one of those dense puffs. It wasn't baking, but almost. Then I looked extremely dry even though I am oily. I now use a small fluffy brush and slightly apply some powder, tapping slightly, very little too. It sets without drying. I need to buy a fluffy puff like the one you show in the video and try that.
4-5 I gotta say I've always done my bronzer and blush the "right" way because it suited my bone structure better. Not up to my temples because I have a small space there, but up to the highest part of my cheekbone. If I apply my blush on the apple of my cheeks I look sad and like my face is flacid lol.

The BK 101 is my FAVORITE foundation brush! Also in the first five minutes of this video, I applaud you. The BK brush side looks AMAZING, like you are glowing from some deep healthy place. The only foundations I sometimes use my fingers for are the Mac Face + Body, the Dior Face + Body, and the Westman Atelier Vital Skin foundation drops. Though I will often go over my face, pouncing it with the 101.

I never did that concealer like that ...one of the few i def have not made a mistake ...yep , had been guity of using handes, and totally you are accurate about what is better, i like a beauty blender then a brush. Now that could be so wrong 💓

This was an awakening of the highest order: I've been doing it wrong for YEARS! I couldn't believe what a BIG difference these little adjustments made!

Your techniques and tone are flawless and easy to follow. I will be a faithful follower.
Question: I have very blond/grey hair and very blond/grey eyebrows. I cannot even see my hair to figure out how to make my eyebrows look nice. No clue. Do you have any suggestions? I do not know where to begin.

Thank you for validating my preference to apply foundation with a brush! I've been trying so hard to convert to finger application cuz so many sources say it's better, but I'm not going to bother anymore.
