    This gives me an idea I want to try outside on location in central Florida. Using natural dry plant and root debris from a clearing for the frame body. Wrapping it with fiberglass mesh held on with nylon string and expanding foam. Then proceeding with generous layers of cement made with local on-site white Florida sugar sand right from the property mixed in with lots of bonding agent.

    Hi Jim, Just a quick question, could the reinforcement mesh be substituted for glass fibres in the mud? Or would this degrade the rocks strength to much? Thanks.

    • @fauxrock
      @fauxrock  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I recommend the use of both the mesh and the fiber for optimum performance characteristics to be obtained. Textile reinforcement has taken off over the last 30 years and in short period of time I think it’ll be the only way that cementitious fabrications/creations are reinforced.

What kind (& size) of screws are you using to screw the cardboard such as how you’re using in this video? 2. I'm building a pond in my backyard and I'm wanting a few big character boulders in it, but not wanting to deal w/ the kind of equipment I'd need to use to maneuver such a big rock into place or have to worry about removing it if I ever had to change the liner.
    Are these things stable enough for people to walk/sit on or are they decorative only?
