    This gives me an idea I want to try outside on location in central Florida. Using natural dry plant and root debris from a clearing for the frame body. Wrapping it with fiberglass mesh held on with nylon string and expanding foam. Then proceeding with generous layers of cement made with local on-site white Florida sugar sand right from the property mixed in with lots of bonding agent.

    Good stuff. Two questions that I could not find answers to in the comments or description. 1. What kind (& size) of screws are you using to screw the cardboard such as how you’re using in this video? 2. What is the exact name of that mesh - looks like some kind of “fabric” mesh like one uses for sheet rock seams? The mesh you use looks like sheets.

    • @fauxrock
      @fauxrock  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I recommend the use of both the mesh and the fiber for optimum performance characteristics to be obtained. Textile reinforcement has taken off over the last 30 years and in short period of time I think it’ll be the only way that cementitious fabrications/creations are reinforced.

    Don't know if you'll see this as the las comment was a year ago...but here goes. My son is going to make a boulder using your technique for an Eagle Scout project. They want a large boulder, thinking 4 feet tall, with a plaque to serve as a veteran's memorial. Trying to judge how much concrete mix to use. We are looking at Sakrete Pre Blended 60-lb Gray Type S Mortar Mix from Lowes. For the two rocks you made in this video, how many bags, or how much of one bag if using less than one, did you mix up for this first phase?

      Are use cardboard before to make what appeared to be like a block wall you can make all kinds of shapes and sizes using cardboard and then mud over it does the same way I did with this rock in the video

      @@fauxrock I'm trying to make an 4x8ft raised garden bed. But not sure if this quickrete is the best option. I dont want the chemicals leaching into soil and then my plants soak up the chemicals
