    Great to see ‘The Medium Was Tedium’; I never tire of it, a classic. And as much as I love ‘Where’s Captain Kirk?’ those Spizzoil singles will always be my favourites. ‘Do A Runner’ is a fine album but my interest fizzled out with The Spizzles. All in all, some fantastic singles, Mike.

      Glad you like the Desperate Bicycles. I like the Spizz Oil stuff especially the Cold City ep. My copy of The Spizzles album hasn't been on my turntable for years. Thanks for watching. Cheers Mike

    Very cool stuff! I miss Television Personalities though, but maybe they're not punk enough. Cheers!

      The only reason I didn't show Television Personalities is I don't have any of the singles. I'd really love a copy of Where's Bill Grundy Now? ep but it's quite expensive these days. Part Time Punks is one of my all time favourites. Cheers Mike

      @@mikevinylspiral Yes, you are right, they are getting expensive now. Hope you can find it one day.

    Wow, what an awesome collection. Somany great things here: Jam, Ian Drury, PiL, Gang of Four, Magazine! etc. I'm afraid I didn't recognize the imposter...

      Hi Brian. UK punk and post punk is really my thing. I had to leave quite a lot of great stuff out to keep it to 50. The imposter is quite difficult to spot, they only released one single as far as know and I discovered them through a blind buy at a record fair. Cheers Mike.

    Great collection of punk singles Mike, a thoroughly enjoyable video. I'm a little surprised that a couple of the mainstream bands like The Clash and The Stranglers were missing. Not your thing?

      @mikevinylspiral  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Richard, I missed out The Clash and Stranglers not because I don't like them but because they get a lot of love on the VC already. It was really a matter of space in the 50. Thanks for watching. Cheers Mike

    I bought the Dead Cities 7” because Rodney on the Roq played Hitlers In The Charts Again. A great bunch of $” picture sleeves. Some I’ve never seen. I could not spot the imposter.

      Thanks Richie. I might try and do a 50 US, I could probably just about do it with singles and albums. By the way the non UK imposter is a US band. I picked it up as a blind buy a couple of months ago. I think they only released one single.

    Safety Pin Stuck In My Heart, how fitting for a punk single. What a wonderful group of records, quite a few I have no idea about. Lot of very cool single Mike. Dickie Davies Eyes lol. Is that a parody ?

    • @mikevinylspiral
      @mikevinylspiral  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Steve. Yes Dickie Davies Eyes is a parody. Half Man Half Biscuit albums have lots of them. One of my favourites is "I love you because (you look like Jim Reeves)"

    999! Oh yes...one of the first punk singles I ever heard...still love them and their first album.

      Hi Andrew. I think 999 are one of those bands that have been a little bit forgotten over the years. Thanks for watching. Cheers Mike

    Fantastic collection of singles you showed there Mike and it was great to see all those picture sleeves as well.
    It honestly wouldn't have bothered me to have seen singles in plain generic sleeves.
    I've been thinking about doing a favourite punk tunes type video for a good while now but it would have to be using a mixture of 7",12" and album tracks 🤔🤔🤔

      Cheers mate. I'd like to see you have a go at this. I can think of loads of great punk tunes that were never singles.

    Bloody hell! I'd struggle to find 20 I think! Well done doing this. Love Xerox! Finally someone else stating the Ada, and the Ants started as a punk band. Love Ian Dury, need to get some more albums.
    I'm surprised at how many of these I know. Some great tunes in that lot mate.

      Hi Jason. Punk is my thing so it wasn't too difficult. Don't think I could do it with another genre.
      If you want to know more about early Adam Ant go over to Berwickshire Mike's channel.

    G’day Mike, 50 records no matter what the format, is big! I think 7”s are the ultimate punk format. The Stiff label appearing on the label is always a sign of top shelf gear. Dirk Wars White Socks is a pretty great album too. I seem to remember a story of Henry Rollins not being to impressed with Chelsea because they killed a rat on stag. The Damned are brilliant & weirdly still underrated I think. I’m sure I have some stuff on Small Wonder. The label font is so familiar. I have that GO4 7” on Fast too. Mekons are a really interesting band. Love The Ruts. John Peel was right. I have that Sleaford Mods single & I agree it’s not dead yet 👍 Great choices mate & some I need to check out too. You’ve got a great collection 👍 I’d love to see Berwickshire Mike do this. Cheers…Ben

      Thanks Ben. There have always been great record labels around that just about guarantee quality. Small Wonder wasn't around for long but were really influential. The Cures first single Killing An Arab was originally on Small Wonder. It will cost you an arm and a leg if you want a copy. I know you talk about the great labels that do a similar job in Australia. Cheers Mike

      @@mikevinylspiral Maybe that's why I know that label because of the Cure. Would love that 7".
