Unboxing my watch HAUL from Japan!

- Like many, I like to shop online and recently I have been buying specifically from Japan where the prices and availability of Seiko and other brands, especially second hand, is unrivalled. It....got a little out of hand and in the box that was delivered are no less than 13 watches. Let's take a look at them and see if I got anything good

Pretty much all of them came from either yahoo auctions or mercari in Japan. I think both of those sites are pretty well known at this point and there are plenty of hidden gems at great prices if you spend the time looking
A selection that oozes great taste. So many pieces I am drawn to. None more than that stunning ivory dial anniversary Seiko. That vintage seiko “tank” with the integrated bracelet is so darn eclectic. I could keep going.

Can't go wrong with any of the SARB looking ones, and I suspect the 'factory worker offered only' piece will be very soughtafter in those circles. The Credor case shape is very de rigueur now so that's gonna fly and I love the look of the Lip... would be nice to see wrist shots of those two.
Perhaps what surprised me most was how taken I was with the Astron, so cool! Especially so when setting itself.

That first one can be arranged but I'm not sure if I have any blue croc straps at the moment

There are some absolutely wonderful watches in this box. For me, the fourth watch has a certain appeal. It’s a classic! Good luck with all of them!

The Japanese have some fantastic watches. Unfortunately they always seem to keep the best for their domestic market only. About 15 years ago I tried to buy a Chronomaster but found that it would have to be returned to Japan when it needed servicing. Further, Citizen would not deal with me but only with a japan-based 3rd party for the service or any repair. It completely put me off Citizen as a brand and I have not bought a single watch from their many brands since.
Yeah, that's pretty unfortunate. With citizen's more recent rise in popularity especially with the enthusiast market, I have heard that they are expanding their range (at least in Australia) and actually bringing chronomaster models to the market here, so that would at least provide local service and repair options. Not that that helps you from 15 years ago but at least the situation is improving, so it's interesting to observe
I like that Seiko Astron...it sets itself..?
If it's in the dark it will go into power saving mode which stops the hands ticking but keeps track of the time. When it detected light after I took it out of the box, it updated the hands to the time it was tracking. If you're in a country that receives the radio signals it will also set itself automatically but in Australia here I don't get those. It doesn't have the GPS module like more expensive astron models that will work automatically anywhere
That Astron is incredibly cool. I wish they were more popular in the US.
The ar on the crystal is nuts as well! Really looking forward to wearing it

It would be better to put the watch down and zoom in with your camera so that the watch is not moving around so much.

How did you go about getting these shipped at once? Was the a bull sale from a seller in Japan?
I have a friend in Japan who ordered them all separately for me and shipped them to me but there are other platforms and services like Buyee where you could do it

These are incredibly hard to find and I was lucky to stumble on one. The tic tac would be a more affordable option to go for. If you like the ivory dial check out the recently and quietly released SZSB032
At 2:45 can you set different time in analog and different time in digital? What's the model name
The analog time matches the digital time but I think you can use the world time function to have 2 different times displayed

The factory anniversary model doesn't have a reference number but the other similar one is the SZSB011

Reasonable is very subjective. What might be reasonable for me could be wildly expensive for you. The point of the video is just to share the pieces, not the prices anyway ;)

I haven't been able to find the reference for that one yet but the case/movement number is 9581-5020
