It was probably because his popularity hadn’t peaked yet. Rocky III helped put him on the map, but the man wasn’t even 30 years old here. It seems a bit odd to me to see him so young, since he was in his 30s by the time I became a fan.

@@WeirdBrick lol - compared to how amped up he appeared in most of his later interviews....yeah my opinion (and 125 others seemed to agree with me with a thumbs up), he seemed "timid and quietly unassuming" - not the amped up "hulkamainia" Hogan he personified through his career in the mid-late 80s and 90s. It needs to be said. Only Johnny Carson, a guy who could easily make or break your career, could play it off like he's "scared" of Hulk Hogan. There's a reason why there'll never be anyone quite as good as he was, sitting in that chair. The King of late night TV, and the best ever hands down.

Carson was definitely playing into it, but I bet a little bit of him was definitely scared and on edge to upset Hogan in this interview.. keep in mind pro wrestling was starting to pick up steam here but nobody ever really seen someone the size of Hogan before so I bet Carson was intimidated a little.

I think Hogan really could’ve took off in action films in the early 80’s if he had a real acting coach, because you can see he’s well spoken and has a lot of charisma and personality. He did well in Rocky 3 because he really didn’t have to be anyone other than his “in ring” character.

Everyone pointed at me. Hulk came towards me and said "Can you make me breakfast"? I said "Sure Hulk". He said "Ya Id like to have a 17 egg omelette with the works inside". And then he said "I need 8 large breakfast sausages and side pile of pancakes". We had to bring out the wheel cart to haul his food to his table. Got to the table and there sat Andre the Giant, Ted Bebasee, Vince McMahon, Rick Flair, a few WWF managers, some groopie girls. I nearly freaked out.

+fordsrule35 1,93 m, Murican! It's m for metre, not several of your stinking feet! But for you idiots: In your mickey-mouse units it was 6'4'' (after IMDb).
We live in the 21th century and do not measure lengths in body parts anymore. Nor temperatures in Fahrenheit or what other medieval bollocks else. But above all: it's metre, and yes, THIS is the only correct spelling, not like you simpletons had to change it to create your muppet language.
Measure for length is a natural constant (like all other measures as well, unless it's in the states, there it's human body parts... darn cannibals), it's widely known as and called metre and it is defined as the exact distance light travels in a vacuum in a 299.792.458th second, not the length of anybody's (whose of all?) stinking feet (till '83 it was the 10 millionth part of the distance between equator and North Pole, also a natural constant) or width of a human's thumb (again: whose?)...
Grow finally up, you illiterate schmocks, will you?! And don't try to correct me on my decimal places or thousands separators, it has to be commas and dots, in that order, not the other way round, stupids. For I refuse to use any of your wrong muppet spellings and maths signs, and yes, there you go, it's maths, since it's short for mathematic *s* . Not math, for this would be short for only mathmatic... and what's that supposed to be? Got it, stupids?
Yeah, I know, you lack any language skills, complex languages and too complex spellings are too hard for you, hence your Ersatz-"English".
Can't be that hard to get used to metres. Oh, wait, I forgot that one dimwit generation usually breeds and raises the next knucklehead generation and thus passes down the same bullshit to them over and over again...and rinse and repeat. Must be hard indeed to adapt to the already enlightened parts of the world.
Bad enough that you forced your infinite language and units kibosh on us in the aviation business, but spare the rest of the world, the normal people, your braindead bullshit of units of lengths, Geezus Christ!
Knots and feet... whenever I hear that shite I feel like I had to use the former to gag the descendants of the originators of this nonsense and the latter to kick their arses flying to the moon!

arpegio88 Linda Hogan is the worst of the worst. I read hulks book a few years back and the way he not only describes her, but her entire family is pretty bad. They all pretty much sucked the life out of him... Today she has a net worth of about 20 million and a yacht named "Alimony" while Hulk is barely a millionaire... It's absolutely disgusting!

agreed it is but no need to worry about Hulk he's doing fine financially. Because after leg dropping that Gawker lawsuit, he's a 140 million dollars richer now.

and the best part about it is that his ex-wife Linda Clarbitch doesn't get to have any of it. Now that's justice brother.

Born in 77, I was a true Hulkamaniac! That was a very nostalgic video for me. Johnny was a very witty and funny guy. I was too young to notice or be awake pretty much. Interesting how self promoting the young Hulk was back then. He seemed a little defensive though.
