@DirtyTesla - just went south to Ann Arbor and that darn electronic lane marking sign was mistaken for a stop light. FSD slammed on brakes - fortunately no one behind me. (I’m running x.36). On northbound, passing car and trooper in Tahoe in middle at 90 degrees to road - car thought trooper was going to pull out and did some hard braking - I hit accelerator. I’m sure trooper thought I panicked - but I was going speed limit - LOL.
Just went on a ride to recalibrate, which as you point out, only takes a few miles with well marked roads. Although calibration completed, my autopilot is still disabled because one camera is out (major bummer). I did notice though that it sensed every traffic light, speed limit sign and stop sign correctly and when I went through a construction zone, it even showed the orange the traffic pylons marking out the temporary lane! Pretty cool.
My Model 3 has been having trouble on curves lately, going wide and then coming back across the lane on the other side, sometimes getting really close to the edge of the lane, which is sketchy when I'm near a shoulder or other car. Will try this tomorrow and hopefully it fixes it!
When I picked up my UK Model 3 LR, it calibrated quickly but I had more phantom breaking in the first 100 miles and it got better and better... so just be aware the calibration done may not be the end of it :) love the vids keep em coming

Does a lot of dirt get stuck in the undercarriage since you drive on dirt roads? I've seen other youtubers say this is a problem. Getting delivery of my model 3 in 2 weeks!
I just got around to watching this, and I am definitely going to give it a try. Two issues I consistently see when using Autopilot. One, although the speed limit is posted as 65, it is displayed as 75 mph. In fairness, I might not have passed a speed limit sign as they are spaced pretty far apart. But, my issue is that for no apparent reason, it thinks the speed limit suddenly drops to 55 mph, which is what is displayed on my screen, and rapidly slows down. Needless to say, this is a hazard with traffic around me not anticipating this. The other issue is preparing to exit on a busy, but moving along interstate. I was within 1 mile of the exit, and I can see the line of traffic in front of me. I would have stayed in the lane and waited to exit. Instead, Autopilot moved into the passing lane and started to accelerate. I took control and moved back into the right lane, because I would have had to force my way back into the right lane to make my exit. I am curious if anybody else is experiencing this behavior.
Hi, could you kindly let me know how come you can use lane change on auto pilot mode?! Isn't it self drive mode?! I don't think lane change is available for auto pilot mode. If it's available so please let me know how to activate it. Thanks 👍
@@DirtyTesla Thanks, I will try it. Phantom braking is more situational than location-based for me. It usually happens when going under a bridge while being alongside a semi.
I just got Model 3 yesterday. They said it would take up to 200 miles for calibration to be complete. However, what i noticed was that the camera on the left was spinning. The one on the right is working. I am wondering if there is something wrong with the camera itself. Now, I didn't buy FSD. Autosteer and cruise control seems to work fine.

I have a salvaged tesla 3 and is in perfect conditions but the autopilot dont work, I know the supercharged is banned but autopilot?.. I clear calibration and still the problem ,, help me ,, thanks
I only have plain Autopilot (no FSD or NoAP), and my car used to slow down a bit during certain turns to follow the road. Now it tries to barrel through the turns at the current speed, and I always have to intervene. I wonder if recalibration would do anything for that???
I would agree with the cameras needing to see a certain amount of stop signs/speed limit sign to calibrate. After I updated to .36 my m3 wouldn’t show the speed limit sign on my local road until I went for decent drive. Just passing it a few times driving around the block didn’t do the trick.
It'll need to work with overhead speed limit signs in the UK. They're legally enforceable and often have a speed camera attached to the same gantry. It'll also mean a change in behaviour so that it reduces speed before the sign is reached, not a few seconds after... Apparently there's quite a lot of leeway between the posted limit and the setting on the camera, but no one will commit to an answer on what the cameras are actually set at. So called Smart Motorways are currently very controversial here - one of the features is using variable speed limits to keep the traffic flowing. That bit does seem to work, but using the shoulder as an extra lane leaving nowhere to stop in an emergency has led to fatalities. The idea is that a stored car will be automatically detected and the lane will be closed using a red cross in the overhead signs - another thing FSD will have to cope with.
Yeah, that's the point of these overhead signs. They will lower the *suggested* speed if there's an accident or slowdown ahead to help with flow. The problem is, since they always say 60 even though the limit is 70, no one listens to them. They can say 45 and everyone will still go 80 until they get to the slowdown.
@@DirtyTesla 3 points on your licence for each time you're caught by a speed camera. 12 points and your licence is gone. Gantries at least every 800m means you could lose your licence in under 2 minutes - most people in the UK slow down for them - even if not to the actual speed shown.
