Just got my Snap Safe Trunk Safe II and it is awesome! Did a lot of research using your video as a baseline. For the price, and Very High Quality I don't thank it can be beat. Followed your guidance and got it from Sprotsman's Guide using your coupon code. Fits in the back of my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee like a glove. Can hold my M4 and an AR-15 comfortably with room for accessories. Just wanted to say thanks for the great guidance, and code. Respect!
Bolt it down because the cables can be easily cut off. They'll just take the entire box and take their time with it. If you have a truck then get the Diamondback tonneau cover and stop leaving your bug out bag in the back seat.
Yeah I doubt they can easily cut that cable, I did 1/4 steel cable and I had to jump with bolt cutters on a bench about 3 or 4 times to cut through that cable and at the time I weighed 240
I'd be more worried about an accident and it becoming a projectile from it not being bolted down than someone cutting the cable. Especially if someone is sitting in the backseat.
Very nice, I would throw in a chest rig for those mags. A good full tang knife and hatchet. I always go by the rule of if SHTF you got what you got. Also a re load bag with enough ammo to reload those mags 2 or 3 times.
A friend of mine also. They went through the trouble of prying the door open. Looked like a lot of effort too....it was a soft top as well. I think they were going to steal the jeep but quit when they saw it was a standard transmission. Took his battery jumper device and some Bic pens in the glove box.
I would like to get the larger Trunk Safe II. There seems to be enough space to add a survival kit in there. I have two of the small Snap Safe units, one secured in my Jeep SUV and one in my home.
Just a guess those seams are welded, 3/32” is hardly heavy duty. Betting a small flat head would pop that open or hell even a decent magnet on the lock plunger.
Not sure it is braided but you can bolt it to the floor if you want. Bottom line, you aren’t gonna stop a really prepared professional thief. But this will stop the VAST majority of crooks that break into vehicles.
Correct, those cables fall quickly to bolt cutters or angle/die grinders. Yes, the dirt bags commonly carry battery powered tools with them. A hardened chain would be a better option (ABUS or other similar) but you’d need to figure out how to attach it to the box. Best yet would be bolting it down. That also restricts movement (obviously) which limits an attackers ability to get an angle or expose a weak spot to some degree. Don’t put too much faith in the tubular lock. Those were the ticket in the 80’s but you can get Chinese tubular picks for under $20 that will work in about 4 seconds to open them. I’d also be curious what kind of backing that plastic lock plate has on in. Wondering if that thing would survive an attack and prevent someone from just bashing it in and pulling the locking lug inside the door. Regardless, I’d make SURE that combo plate could not be seen from outside. Just cover it with some carpet or keep an empty cardboard box over it. Security through obscurity goes a long ways.
Nothing fits i. The new JL with the stupid sub woofer in The way and the edges of the trunk not being l even If you go more shallow than the subwoofer, the door hingr on the oppisite side limits the depth. Only thing that fits a long gun and fits in the stupid JL is a SecureIt 36D drawer safe and that safe barely fits a 14.5 pin n welded AR wirh a 20 round mag. Thanks jeep for not even govong 40 inches across the trunk of a boxy car that snluld have a ton more room but design engineers are bottom of the barrell
Skip ahead to 3:30 for the beginning of the review. How secure is the box itself? Have you tested it? What happens if you smash the plastic faceplate with a hammer? Are the hinge pins exposed? I'm not going to spend $500 on a lockbox if I don't know that it's even secure. Some of the other SnapSafe products are *atrocious*. com/watch?v=2x3n4cnsY90 com/watch?v=94z0OJ_-4Lo

Did the safe come with the cord to secure it to something?

I guess “easily” is relative. Certainly bolting it down is more secure.

I'd be more concerned with crap rattling around without adding padding to the inside ceiling and sides. Especially if going offroad
Love your vids.i drive a rag top mustang gt so we have to be diligent..good stuff..and no gun related stickers or decals!!!

I had someone steal stuff from my Jeep Wrangler two weeks ago in Kennesaw Georgia. I have a Soft Top.
That sucks.

Probably not as easy as you think
Is that water proof?
No
They look for vehicles with stickers like NRA, gun stickers etc. bolt it down.
That would be a better safe to me of it didn't have a braided steel cable securing it
