Again and again was the song that turned me on to taproot and have been a fan every since. Poem was a killer jam and they nailed it again a few years later with fracture. They are so underrated. They're a great band.
So you CAN teach an old dog new songs😂 I had never heard of this band or this song before today. As for seeing great bands at small venues, back in the late '80's/early '90's, the Raleigh/Chapel Hill area of N.C. were hotbeds of music and new bands and there is a small club in Chapel Hill called The Cat's Cradle (700-750 people) that booked many of them. I saw Nirvana there in Oct. of '91 just before their Nevermind album took off and saw Corrosion of Conformity there and at other small venues in the area before they hit it big, but they were from Raleigh. Thanks for turning me on to a new band. 🙏✌️
A great song! They had a few songs that were good back in the day. Crossfade is another band that came out about this time. I suggest "Colors" or "Cold" for Alexis.
Bands like this in this genre really benefit from live shows! Because of the story you told! They don’t have the heavy following like others that are in different genres, but the following they have will die for their bands lol and they’re so good at their craft that seeing them live shows you that they aren’t just leaving on the production crutch from studios
taproot is from ann arbor michigan.. i seen them in battle creek michigan in 2003..taproot,chevelle and unloco opened for disturbed for the music as a weapon 2 tour.. they were great live and that show is where i bought their cd with poem on it.. my 4 year old daughter always wanted to hear this song back then
Taproot just released a new album “Scissors”. Check it out, also they are touring again . Victim play is awesome on the album, but literally first 5 songs are on repeat. Also loved in past albums smile, i and mine.
I know how you feel Burch...I saw Filter open for White Zombie WAY back in the day. I had only heard "Hey Man, Nice Shot" on the radio a couple of times. They were completely amazing in the LIVE show, but I really couldn't get into their music after that. Kind of a weird phenomenon. I was also thinking, as I was watching the reaction that Alexis would probably LOVE Breaking Benjamin's "Diary Of Jane"...Just a thought...Much love to y'all!!!
No one knows any other Taproot song than this you're not the only one. You guys should check out Invent Animate they're the best band rn imo. If you wanna go radio friendly check out Without a Whisper If you wanna go hard check out False Meridian.
I had a similar experience with a band called Animal Bag in the early mid 90s great show in a very large bar/small hall. Small crowd 2 sets and they just hung out in between and after like a local band but they had a top 50 hit.
I forgot about this one. It was in heavy rotation on the local station 106.5 The End back in the 2000's. Our alt rock station. Ever heard of Jimmie's Chicken Shack? They had this one semi-hit around the same time called high. I remember this song and that one being played a lot back then.
I was trying to get with one of my friends twin sister and she was really into taproot. So naturally got concert tickets right? It was a good concert not great but good. But anyway started buying albums. (Yes, you had to go to an actual store.) so started listening and their non-radio stuff is honestly really good. Some can get a bit whinny but overall really got into them for a bit. Just happened to think of her so had to bust out some nostalgia. Anyway in case you’re interested, never got with her😢. We ended up being really close friends for many years so thanks taproot!
Hey Burch , I lived in Central. Fla from 1999 to 2019 . Did you ever hit The Legendary Station In Castleberry for any shows. ?? They shut down like a year or 2 after I moved to Fl but saw a lotta good shows before they did. What a place that was , holy crap !!!
Yup, The Fern Park station. practically lived there and the other "establishments" across the street 😁🤣 I am right now looking for some photos from the Station when me and my wife saw Dio there 3 days after we got married. I just posted some images of Quite Riot at Tsunami Beach Club in Sanford from that same time frame.
Awesome live band. I have seen them a couple of times in Pittsburgh PA. They have a few songs I like, but this one is the chart topper. Skillet is pretty good for a christian rock band as well. If the copyright gods allow you to. You really need to get into some Shinedown. Awesome band and great vocals. Their cover of Skynard's Simple Man will blow your mind. Other then that. Sound Of Madness or even their first it 45 would all be great places to take that trip.
You should checkout a band called The Warning. They are from Mexico and are blowing up and I know you will fall in love with them. I’m old school by the way and there the real deal.
Burch.. I would be incredibly thankful if you could take the time to please introduce Alexis to Kingdom Come - What Love Can Be An incredible group but overlooked because of the vocal comparisons with Robert Plant 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Taproot were one of those bands that started good, got really good, then lost it. Welcome, from which this track came, was their high point for me. I particularly like the track Fault. Another band in a similar vein and followed a similar trajectory of 'good/very good/ lost it' were Stabbing Westward. Their album Darkest Days is packed with great stuff, my favourite being On Your Way Down.
You should definitely check out Deftones. They have a similarish sound, but much better. Best band from that late 90s era and are still putting out amazing music.
@@flickeringboxofficialTo put it bluntly, Lostprophets were a nu metal band around the same time and were really good, but about 10 years later the singer turned out to be one of the most sick, depraved pedophiles you could imagine.

This song and "Again and Again" are my favorite songs from Taproot. 👍👍
One of the few songs of Taproot I know and the first one from them I heard. I really like this song.
One of the most unrated bands of all time, just saw them in Cleveland back in November. Still amazing.
Saw Taproot a few weeks ago. They have a new album. Great guys!
Great one to jam out to in the car. Lots of 15 year old memories flooding back for me on this one. I’m always sad when it ends lol
Those lyrics on "Poem" are pure gold.. one of the best Nu Metal songs I ve ever heard!
One of my favorite bands! The album “Welcome” helped me get through some really tough times years ago!
Again and Again was good tune 🎶

Jakyl probably came through there. Jessie sure can play a chainsaw.
Taproot should be huge. Underrated.

Another one of my favorites by Taproot is Fractured.

great song ... under rated
nice detour on the rock and roll road. There were some interesting bands from that era that ppl have forgotten about.
Adema, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, The Union Underground, Offspring. Are ones you should get into. 😊😊😊
I forgot about thís song and this band. I remember hearing this song alot on the radio when it came out.

Came for Taproot stayed for the great content
I went to that show at the social! I also saw incubus at the fern park station

Blue Sky Research is my favorite album but they're all good.
Taproot - Again And Again and mine are great songs
I have this album, though Poem is the only song I remember off the top of my head.
Mudvayne - World So Cold
Danzig - Her Black Wings
Motley Crue - Hooligans Holiday

Please do Nothingface- Ether.
Flaw- Whole.
Adema- unstable
Disturbed- Stupify.
In flames- where the dead ships dwell.
Amazing reactions 👏

@@flickeringboxofficial Yeah Fern Park, exactly , That was it

"Were a band in the 2000's"
* = Still a band. Still putting out new stuff.
Point taken.. I will assume you were and are a fan, did you at least like the reaction?
You should checkout a band called The Warning. They are from Mexico and are blowing up and I know you will fall in love with them. I’m old school by the way and there the real deal.
Sounds a bit like Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit, some random Alice in Chains and a bit of Incubus. Maybe a touch of SOAD too.
Burch.. I would be incredibly thankful if you could take the time to please introduce Alexis to
Kingdom Come - What Love Can Be
An incredible group but overlooked because of the vocal comparisons with Robert Plant 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Have you folks reacted to Heilung - Anoana? The music video is an experience to say the least.

Stealing! One of the best and most succinct descriptors for bands. Thank you James, comment of the day!
They're still making music. Just released a new album
The same can be said about most nu metal bands tbh. When the genre died, they all changed their sound and lost what made them special.
😂😂 Sounds like a vegetable, haha, good one, Alexis, but Burch, you must show her Nine Inch Nails Closer since we are all diving into Alt Rock 😊😊
Sounds like 311 and likin park put together 👍
Taproot?? Might as well do a Deftones song. "change in the house of flies"?
You should definitely check out Deftones. They have a similarish sound, but much better. Best band from that late 90s era and are still putting out amazing music.
Nu Metal forever!
True Crime memories
React to Taproot - Again and Again
How come no Evanescence reactions yet?
I don't get it.
We are getting there, I love Amy Lee but just there are only so many videos we can record per week. We will get there
Are you going to do a metal Xmas song reactionl?
What's next? Lostprophets - Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja? 🤣
I don't get the joke, I know it's a rib but just missed it.
@@flickeringboxofficial yeah I guess it fell flat. May have gone too obscure. It was a hit around the same time as Taproot.
@@tomlaw17 I figured it was something, as I have said...I am oblivious :) Sorry man

Good song, bad dude…
Try Demon Hunter - Undying or Jesus Wept
Your knees loved them? 🙂
Taproot is for sure Nu-Metal.
Try some UFO band
Nonpoint
Or onesidezero
10 years wasteland
10 years so long, goodbye
