This is my second day of the 8 week challenge... To be honest I took on the challenge because I have full trust in Melissa as a trainer... The testimonies of each one of the ladies who have taken the challenge are beyond inspiring... I really couldn't put too much time into learning to navigate the app because I thought I should not be that difficult... Well, I was wrong...😢 No wonder I am The Unlikely Technologist... So what I thought was going to be a challenge, it wasn't. The app is my real challenge. And I am planning on letting that stop me from completing the 8 week challenge. So Melissa if you are reading this, I am doing the exercises without going through your app. So the proof will be in my last pictures. Tonight I noticed that I have more balance and more strength to do the exercises. My weights are feeling lighter. And I don't get as tired as before... So most definitely this episode of my life as The Unlikely Technologist has to end up in one of the chapters of my book. ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
Hey Melissa I am happy to inform you that I made it through my first day of the challenge 🎉🎉🎉I have to say that I struggled with two exercises; the walking lunges and the deadlift. I have flat fit and had also hurt my back the other day exercising plus I strained my left side upper leg months ago and it's still healing. But it feels awesome. Waiting for the right time and I decided to just go for it. So I am showing up today for myself 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Melissa I've been trying to contact you via email but I keep getting the message unable to deliver. It is about the pictures someone took from me yesterday before the challenge. What's another email to contact you?
I’m so excited! Just joined the challenge because I need to start with a booster ❤ I am so exhausted by all this information of “what to do” or “do keto” or “do a fast”, “cut out carbs”…I am turning 50 in October 2025 and I want to start this new age with a new me! I am finally ready to cut out alcohol and sugar and go back to my old “Sporty Spice” Ego!!! 😁 And so ready to win the money…❤
I absolutely love this! You gave me hope. Before I watched your video, I just wondered out loud to myself, "What is the point." I'm literally surrounded y some of the most vicious people I couldn't even have imagined. What's the point? smh You're right, it's what we eat , but it's also getting away from people who hate as well.
I'm so glad the video resonated with you! It’s so powerful to recognize that both our environment and what we put into our bodies play a huge role in our well-being. Surrounding ourselves with positive energy and cutting out toxicity can be life-changing. Keep pushing forward-you deserve peace, health, and happiness. You've got this! 💪🌟
Hi Melissa. I’ve restarted your program again. I get frustrated because, I have fibroids which makes my stomach bulge. It’s frustrating to see my body improving but, my stomach still bulging 😮. I’m contemplating surgery but, figured I’d continue to try naturally. I’m fairly slim and just want to add muscle. Any suggestions or recommendations?
`I have fibroids too - there is nothing you can do bar surgery to change that. But you can follow the steps in my program to improve your midsection and reduce belly fat. There is no magic pill you need to follow this consistently for months and years to see progress.
Melissa I am finally able to get into the challenge 🎉 I have some questions. Since my goal is to gain weight and tone my body, do I really need a scale? Do you recommend I join a gym or can I use the weights I have? I have a one 20 pound weight, a set of 4 pounds each, a set of 3 pounds each and some resistance bands. I want to successfully complete the challenge. What's your advice?
@@MelissaNeill how about the meal plan... I've been researching and I find out that to gain weight and tone my body I need to eat at least 170 grams of protein. I am lactose and gluten intolerant.
We have different meal plans that cater to vegan and various dietary needs, ensuring everyone can follow the program according to their preferences! 😊 If you want a detailed idea of the meal plan, feel free to email us at info@melissaneill.com.
Hello & thank you for your insights. I have a 3 pre-challenge questions: What resources do I need to complete your challenge effectively at home (weights, food scale, etc)? Once you join do you gain access then so you can prep for what you need? Can we access the program from our computer or is there a specialized app? I would like to cast the routines on my tv.
Hello! Once you join the program, you will need basic equipment which will be mentioned in the program. You will immediately get access to the program using our app so that you can prepare in advance before the challenge officially kicks off. You can also use the app on your computer as well.
@@MelissaNeill Thank you so much for your detailed response! I am truly interested & excited to participate. I am a determined newbie, would you be so kind as to describe basic equipment?
I've just put this comment on another video, but realised it was an older video, so thought it might be better to put it on here!... Wow, I've just found you and I really feel like you are talking to me! I'm early 40s and I've been eating 1200 daily calories for a year, intermittent fasting, walking 20,000 steps and can't get rid of this belly fat. I'm officially a 'healthy' weight but I don't look it. I know that I feel/look better around 7-10 pounds lighter and all the extra pounds seem to be on my belly. Can I ask how tall you are? Do you have any particularly recommendations for shorter women? I'm 5ft2 and struggle as we obviously need lower calories than taller women, but I don't think I can eat any lower than what I'm currently eating.
Thank you for sharing your journey-it sounds like you’ve been putting in a lot of effort! It’s great that you’re being so mindful about your health. Keep focusing on what makes you feel your best, and remember, every body is unique. 💖 If you're not yet sure which program to start with, you can take our free Program Recommendation Quiz here: melissaneill.com/free-quiz/ The quiz only takes a few minutes, and you will be asked certain questions regarding your workout and fitness activity so we can recommend the best program for you.
What do you suggest for DOMS? I’ve been doing the same class every week for 5 years which is like a supersets circuits class with handheld and leg weights. It’s the same format with a menu of similar exercises to choose from - so not identical, but working similar muscle groups in a set order. I haven’t increased the weights for the last 10 months but still, every week, I am really sore the next day and sometimes for 3 days straight. It’s not muscle fatigue (which I’ve occasionally had) it’s out and out pain, soreness, stiffness & weakness, such that I can’t put much effort into anything until 3 days later, making it impossible to do 4 strength training sessions a week or HIIT. It never gets any better and I’m on HRT. It’s so demoralising. I bought a red light panel from infraredi to see if that helped but it made no difference. I do Pilates and yoga and am more flexible and symmetrical than I’ve ever been! I do Zumba and never ache after that. Now I’ve got right knee pain, left plantar fasciitis, and left wrist pain which means I have to think up variations for everything! I take magnesium supplements (along with other general ones) and have just restarted collagen, but I’ve been doing the same thing for 5 years and it’s not getting any better.
Stop doing the circuits class and switch to a bro split body builder way of training. You only train each muscle group 1-2 times per week but you train 4 times a week. This will give your muscles a chance to recover. Join one of my programs to use this method like the 8 week challenge or the 6 week shred melissaneill.com
Strengthening your leg muscles is the key to improving your knees. One of our winners Jenny Spikerman could not squat at the start of the challenge. You should start without weight then you will see improvement through the challenge
I've been working out for over 30 years. I have achieved greatness in my 20, 30 and early 40s. But now no matter what I did fat wouldn't bulge until I did Melissa's 8 week challenge. Diet is key the exercises you do are important too. I would say if your stuck, definitely try Melissa's program. I don't know about you I've been trying to loose 10 lbs for at least 3 years, but I did it in 8 weeks following Melissa's program.. 💪
Abs are done in the gym and revealed in the kitchen … or whatever the idiom is :). Exercise does not outdo a good diet. Especially once you hit perimenopause or menopause, for which these videos are intended.

Is maple syrup ok to use as a sweetener? (for example when make chia seed pudding) I'm in Canada and it is readily accessible than monk fruit
I would recommend going for Zero Calories sauces!
